Good location for Mayo Clinic. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Convienent to Mayo Clinic. Being charged to use internet connection. We stayed at a Best Western after leaving the Marriot, and they offer it for free. Parking was expensive as well as being charged to use the internet connection. Two things that I felt could be improved upon.

Rooms were very beautiful and clean. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows and white down duvets. Parking was in a shared ramp and was quite a hike. Would recommend using the valet parking. Check in was quick and easy and staff were wonderful.

Very nice hotel - location is perfect . Pool location - parking ramp is short hike away This is a sweet hotel with a super location - mayo is right in the backyard - shopping, restaurants and tons of entertainment are within 5 minute walk in all directions. Hate the design of the hotel as the pool is in the center of the rooms in an atrium which basically makes it a noise chamber. We wanted to take a nap after a long drive but could not due to screaming kids in the pool. If you want quiet make sure you specify you want a room as far from the pool as possible. Parking ramp is quite a hike through the subway level, next time I'll spring the extra few bucks for valet.

Convenience to other places. Lobby was far from elevator. The low score was because there was a water line break so the lobby was wet.

Location. Sounds from the room next to us. This hotel was near the Mayo Clinic and was easy to get to appointments and rest in between appointments. I was surprised that they charged $13.00 for parking. The room was comfortable and clean but I could hear the person in the next room making a drink or something with the clink of the bottle and class on the granite counter. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was friendly.

Caring and so accommodating. Simply nothing to complain of. Room was large, comfortable. Bathroom was pristine. Location fantastic. Sensitive staff eager to help in any way.

Nice service and location. Shower was in the tub. Nice hotel.
Date of Stay:

Close to Mayo. Layout of the lobby. Nicest hotel in Rochester. Maybe a little below most Marriotts. But for this town, doesn't get any better.

Location. Nothing bad to say about this fine hotel. Can't do better than this.

The staff was very helpful and there was a very nice courtyard. The pool and the hot tub area were dated and small. Very clean and safe. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area could use some updating, nice courtyard and good restaurant.

Closeness to Mayo Clinic. Rooms too hot, AC thermostats set for Al Gore lovers. The room thermostat has been programed to severally limit the AC level, I was impossible to get a good nights sleep, the room was too warm.

Exceptional service; well appointed; outstandingly clean; excellent amenities. Concierge took too long to bring car around.
Date of Stay:

Location, nice staff. Could not get hot water. Tub/shower needs re-grouting. Would stay there again. Their room rate per night is too much for a place with a small lobby and apparently antiquated plumbing.

Location was everything. Too expensive. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. However they assured us they would get us a cab to the airport on time but used the yellow cab company that didn't come. Then the bellman found a new cab company and came in five minutes. Went for a drink and bartender acted most unfriendly.

Good location, unobtrusive maid service. Snack & Sundry store was open late. Horrible lighting in room. Would have liked self-serve coffee in lobby. Brusque guest relations. Others have commented on poor lighting in rooms. Believe it. It's the pits. In fact if you tried to apply makeup while standing at the bottom of a dark pit with only down-lighting, you'll get the idea of what the vanity areas are like. I would have liked to find self-serve coffee in the lobby, but no such luck. There is a coffee maker & stuff in the room, but I went looking for palatable coffee in the lobby. The restaurant manager kindly fetched me a complimentary cup of joe from the kitchen when I asked where I might find some coffee. (There is a Starbucks across the street at the Kahler, as I later discovered.) My husband and I stayed two nights. We were a few minutes late checking out and got a call from the front desk asking if we were leaving that day. My husband said yes, and the lady asked, and when is that going to happen? Kind of a brusque approach for a supposedly 4 star hotel, IMO. Also, we respected their non-smoking policy but would it be too much to ask that a seating area somewhat sheltered from the elements be provided outside instead of making their guests loiter around like vagrants in the wind and rain? We'll stay at the Kahler next time - that's where you have to park for the Marriott anyway, it has Starbucks on the premises, they have smoking rooms, and as far as I can remember from a past visit there, they have decent lighting in the rooms and very polite guest relations staff.

Connection to Mayo Clinic. Self parking not convenient. The hotel is part of the Mayo Clinic complex, very convenient, connected to Rochester by Skyways and Subways.
Date of Stay:

Location. Rooms. Great hotel for anyone visiting staying in Rochester. We stayed during a youth sports tournament so the hotel was busy but rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly but could have used a few more in light of heavy traffic. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location to the Mayo Clinic. Somewhat confusing parking ramp. It was a great.
Date of Stay:
February, 2008
Elegant hotel with all the comforts you would expect from a 4 Star Deluxe hotel. Parking to far away and not attached directly to hotel. Hotel was very nice. The only problem I found was the access to parking. The parking ramp is located a block away. Parking was not included in hotel rate and, although underground, you had to walk though a somewhat unmarked tunnel system to get to the hotel.
