Overall, my stay was pleasant. The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice, and I loved the gym. The only thing that I did not like is that I could hear everything: my next door neighbors TV and conversations, and the people walking around the hall.

Helpfulness, courtesy, location. Very little. Struck by friendliness and receptive to helping.

for a marriott there were a number of annoyances which were totally avoidable: -there were four adults and a child in our group. even though i had a email confirming the booking, they did not have a room, and we were "upgraded" to a larger suite. I hate to think what the regular room was like! this room afforded no privacy, had only one tv and was advertised as a "suite" we werent checked in till 5 pm -no free internet access anywhere in the hotel, the "common" computer in the business center was 6$ for fifteen minutes, or 14.95/day in your room. -the bathroom door refused to stay shut unless slammed, and one morning we ran out of toilet paper, no spare left by housekeeping! -the bar had a mandatory 15% gratuity, not posted anywhere, regardlless of the bill

Not being familiar with Manhatten, I did not know what to expect from our hotel beyond being a Marriott. When we arrived, we were blown away by the location; right across the street from the Waldorf Astoria and in walking distance of many major attractions. We arrived very early and expected to leave our bags at the front desk until the afternoon; not so, rooms were available and we were allowed to check in at 10:00 AM! A first for me. The rooms were fantastic and the staff great. The lobby bar had a great atmosphere in the afternoons.

Overall hotel was in a nice midtown location. Rooms clean and large by New York standards. No mini bars but a refrigerator. No vending machines only ice. All in all would definitely stay there again. Hotel is old but renovated. Liked the old wood paneled lobby. Linens and bedding are upgraded and nice.

Clean rooms. Good fitness facilities. Lots of street noise facing Lexington on 7th floor. Horrible pillows. The hotel was clean and modern. However, our room on the 7th floor was very noisy with street noise and we didn't sleep well while there.

Cashed in the Marriott points for a long weekend stay at this historic hotel. Room was quiet and very clean, and the bed and bed linens were nice. Were given one of the smaller rooms on the floor, but still worked for the two of us quite well. Not too far to Grand Central to get the subway, but away from the frantic part of New York when it was time to sleep. For those with Marriott status, the club was quite nice, served a full breakfast, and had a small roof garden.

Great place to stay and discover all the entertainment around midtown. 1 block away from subway, walking distance from all shopping areas. Duane Reade and restaurants around the block. Restaurant (only one) in hotel is ok, rooms are clean and newly refurbished. Bathroom very good. No room mini bar but refrigerator available for personal use.nI would stay definitely another time.

I went to NYC to see a friend and have a vacation. The hotel provided me with the best location to see all of the sights and sounds of the true city. Even my friend enjoyed the hotel. The staff are very curteous and helpful. I would love to return to the same hotel on every trip into the city.

Great service for issues regarding the first room we were in. Space was not used well enough. Great service in dealing with situations especially during the holiday season.

this hotel was gorgeous. the staff was tip top, very helpful concierge. the room was imacculate. the room we did book was not available. we asked for 2 queen beds. we recieved 1 king bed + 2 pull out beds. bu the time the 2 pull outs were set up there was no room to walk. we had to walk over the beds. overall the trip was easy, from check in to check out.

I have stayed at this property three times within the last month and have been pleased with the consitent service, very clean rooms, and hotel. Great East Side Manhattan location on Lexington and 49th. THis property has the BEST beds for comfort / sleep! Newly renovated and pleasant staff! A must compared to other major hotel chains!

It was a nice location, close to Rockefeller. The restaurant was way too expensive! It was a beautiful hotel and in a great location, just around the corner from Rockefeller Center. The rooms were real nice and cozy, to be expected for a Marriott. The restaurant inside was too expensive though!! For a normal breakfast (i.e. French toast), the cost averaged between $17 and $21. Unacceptable.

The staff is freindly, location the best near the 6 subway. I think for the price they are some of the most spacious rooms and the bedding so comfy. A real nice experience overall."

The room was cozy, quiet and so comfortable. I loved the shower and the ability to chill and enjoy a movie and room service after a long (rainy!) New York business day. Don't miss the delicious veggie salad and fruits with whipped cream, by the way!

Good size room, clean and bed were comfortable. Hotel was perfectly located. Very close to Rockefeller and all the Christmas festivites. We've stayed at a four star and the room were larger and beds more comfortable at Mariott. Just beware, there's construction on the south side of the hotel. We were getting up early anyways, but something to consider.

this was our first time in the Big Apple. The staff at the hotel were very helpful. Rooms were small but very nice. Would definately go back!

The room was nice but smaller than I expected. I also got one of the rooms with no view at all. This two minor things would not stop me from recommending this hotel to anyone. Our quarters were spotless clean and the staff was cordial and friendly. The best thing about this place is the location. Few blocks from central park, Broadway etc.. surrounded by a plethora of restaurants and pubs. Even tho we had a short stay I would stay there again any time.

Location,& service level all were excellent. The location was excellent for getting to all of the great places NYC has to offer. The staff was very polite, well informed and very helpful. The rooms were not as small as some of the rooms in similarly rated hotels in NYC. They made good use of the space.
