The hotel was conveniently located to Principal Park, as we had come to see a baseball game and close to 235, to continue our journey. The hotel was a great buy and was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I would definitely stay there again!

We were only there for a very short period of time, but the property had all the amenities that made a short business stay absolutely a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend their healthy breakfast selections. Sometimes "healthy" means "doesn't taste good" but the price and taste and quality and quantity was absolutely fantastic. I'd stay again just to order room service all over again. The beds were SO comfortable, I did NOT want to leave!!! As a very late arrival, we were treated with VIP care, smiles even though it was "early" in the morning and check-in was VERY fast and easy and the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and caring and friendly!!! Kudos to them!

We were VERY pleased with the Downtown Marriott. From the time we were picked up at the airport to the time we were dropped off we felt very pampered by the entire staff. Everyone was exceptionally courteous and helpful. The rooms were very clean, the beds were extra comfy and we used the hotel restaurant for drinks, breakfast and lunch- everything was so good! The service really was above and beyond. Its worth writing a review to share a 'Good" find on a hotel. - We've all had those weekend nightmares. If you are staying downtown Des Moines I definitely recommend this hotel.

I have come to expect a level of excellence from Marriott and I must say that I was disappointed. The bright spot here was the staff. The front desk/concierge was very nice and helpful. The room service got our order wrong but they made it right eventually. They did, however, tell me that what I ordered was not on the menu so they substituted another item. Upon checking, the original item was indeed on the menu. The bellman was of most service, giving us insider tips on travel, restaurants and things to do while in DesMoines. I was very disappointed with the room. We were placed in a king room very close to the elevator. The room was small, with no real place to eat our room service breakfast. The bathroom was exceptionally small with very little space for toiletries on the sink. The shower was an open shower with no tub. There was no space in the shower to place shampoo, etc. The possibility of staying here again would be slim.

Service was excellent from lowest employee to top management. Food was good and reasonably priced. Room was adequate except for the bathroom fixtures and layout.

Clean, elegant, comfortable. Everything, and I mean everything (parking, water, coffee, newspaper) cost extra, and a lot extra. Elegant, and comfortable, the Marriott provided a romantic, upscale setting for a night in Des Moines. The staff was friendly, but plan on spending extra for little things like parking ($17), water ($3.50), use of a computer to check e-mail ($10/hour), breakfast, and newspaper. Located down town, it is convenient only if your business is down town. Excellent choice if the company is paying, or you are not looking for value. Many more young adults and children than expected.

Workout room is adjacent to the pool. Wifi is not free in the room. Very nice hotel but smaller hotels have more conviences like free continental breakfast, free wifi, and fridge/microwave in room. The hotel is located across the street from the YMCA so Monday morning there were about 10 people standing around waiting for the free meal. They didn't bother anyone though.

Location Small bathroom. I had called and asked for two beds and got the impression from the person I talked to they could accommodate us. When we checked in he said they only had king rooms available. One of my sons had to stay in another hotel with other family so he could have a bed. They did give us a free roll a away for my other son.

The staff was very wonderful and helpful. It was very expensive. It was okay, the location was a little bad for little kids but if you are staying in it's fine.

The staff was great. The elevator system was slow and old. Great hotel. The room was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and room service was prompt. The public areas where open and inviting, a little loud because a lot of traffic the weekend I was there. The pool and hot tub were nice but the fitness center was excellent. Getting to the hotel by car can be tricky since downtown Des Moines has one way street traffic patterns.
