This is a full service hotel situated directly above a large underground shopping center with easy indoor access to the Metro, one stop from Reagan National Airport. Although there are shops and restaurants within walking distance, as well as the hotel restaurants and bar, we never saw most of them as we spent nearly all of our time touring DC. Having safe, close access to the Metro as well as shops for incidentals, makes this my favorite hotel in the DC area. The bed was very comfortable and the staff attentive but not intrusive. The room was spacious and clean. We ate only one breakfast at the hotel as there are many more interesting places in the district to eat. You cannot find a more convenient location for exploring DC. My only complaint was the $12.95/day charge for WiFi access (includes unlimited long distance) but I was able to access somone's unsecured network connection. I think it is outrageous that upscale hotels continue to charge for internet access when most budget establishments include it in the room rate.

Great staff, interesting clientèle, great Atrium small restaurant, everything within walking distance. Bed almost too comfortable, if one can say that. Was there for only one night. Small salad at the Atrium best I've ever had. While huge, plenty of space. Good space in room and desk extremely helpful. Shuttle to most places, metro at your feet, shops underground with walking corridor. Has feel of travelers/business hotel, time of the four major cities in their respective zones posted at front desk. Wireless Internet in room is 13 dollars a day extra, no free continental breakfast for a good cup of coffee there is a Starbucks located in the lobby. Atrium space feels great, and plenty of military around if you wish to feel safe.

I was there In October 2008. The place was infested with small brown roaches. the were located behind the T.V. entertainment center and in the bathroom. I was there for a total of 5 days, and on each day we were visited by one of these annoying pest. i made the front desk aware of the problem. However, they were in complete denial of the situation.

We arrived at Regan Internation and was almost immediately picked up by the shuttle from the hotel. The employees at the front desk were very courteous and helpful. The rooms are very nice and appears to have been updated recently. The beds are very comfortable (pillow topped) and the hotel is clean. The location of this hotel provides direct access to the underground shopping (Crystal City Shopping) and Metro without ever having to go outside. We really enjoyed out stay and would stay there again.

I was in D.C. for pleasure, great hotel for cleanliness and quietness.

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Lobby was laid out well and was luxurious. Over all, we had a great stay and was convenient to the Metro. I loved that we didn't have to go outside and walk blocks to reach the Metro. Everyone was friendly and helpful when we had questions about the area.

The hotel was very convenient to underground shops via a tunnel to the metro. The rooms are spacious and clean. Bed seemed small for a double. Staff was willing to assist in any way. Was not aware that the high-speed internet was not free. 9.95 or something of the like plus tax.

I thought I was the only one on the entire floor but when I woke there were newpapers outside the rooms across and next to me. Never heard a door close or water running.

Nice and comfortable, with a helpful staff. Good choice for lodging in the Arlington/Washington, DC area. Metro (subway) has station in arcade under the hotel. The arcade connects to other parts of Crystal City, so you don't have to walk outside very much to get some place. That's a plus in rainy weather, at night or even just during a typical muggy Washington, DC summer.

Hotel was clean, staff was effecient and friendly- Nice room, TV was fuzzy, room service food was barely warm (wasn't expecting hot) . This was a difficult day to travel to DC, but once I finally reached hotel I felt welcome.

this hotel is great and has a lot of benefits for family trip. excellent bed, clean room, clean bath, and excellent full breakfast. I purchased a promotional product including breakfast for two adults and one child. it was great and i will stay in this hotel again. one disadvantage is parking. parking fee is 19.99.

I feel that my personal experience was great. But the staff could have been a little more friendly at the desk when I checked in. The room was very nice and clean and the hotel in general was fabulous. I had a nice stay and the location was fine too.

Big very comfy bed, soft sheets fluffy pillows. The walk to the elevator was a bit long epically with bags. Absolutely wonderful. Minutes from the metro with an enclosed tunnel which was nice since it was raining when I stayed. Very friendly staff. Beautiful lobby area. Huge spacious room with great HDTV. Beautiful view from huge window. All in all I would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Stayed here 16 yrs. ago; chose this hotel again because of location; found services excellent in spite of 3-star rating; consierge desk had multiple individuals but all were extremely helpful; cleanest bathrooms I've been in, including my own; only downside is that week-end activity shuts down and dining is limited within walking distance; Metro is always there, though.

Having been to DC once before, I did not know about the hotels just across the Potomic in Crystal City. Very convenient to the Metro subway system, right under the hotel. Can get to anywhere in DC very quickly and safely. Will recommend this hotel to everyone. Thanks

The Marriott Gateway is fabulous. First it is comfortable, sleek and contemporary, close to shopping at Pentagon City Mall and a great running trail along the Potomac. The hotel lobby connects to the underground Metro and to the underground shops.

Style and efficiency. The HD channels on the TV didn't work. Excellent hotel with all the amenities. It seemed especially suited to business and conference type travelers, but it also had a location that would be good for vacationers. Convenient to the metro and DC and area attractions. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by.
