The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The Iowa Writer's Library was interesting and impressive. The hotel was well kept and visually lovely. Our room had a a pretty view of the large patio on the water. There were events on the patio each night that we were there, but the noise from the events did not keep us awake (we were on the 4th floor). The room was a bit dark and was a good bit smaller than we expected. The bed linens were sumptuous and the bed was very comfortable. There was one upholstered arm chair and a desk type chair for the desk. The bathroom was a bit small, also. I liked that the interior doors had sandblasted glass inserts rather than being a solid wooden door, as it added to the overall architectural feel of the decor. The toiletries provided (soaps, lotions, etc.) were of boutique quality. We did not take a lap top computer with us; however, if we had, the desk and connections would have been more than adequate for use. There was an additional nightly charge to park in the hotel's parking lot (approximately $7 per night). The security for the hotel seemed well protected and was well lit. We did not eat in the dining area, as the prices seemed a bit expensive. Starbucks coffee was available for purchase in the dining area. The pool and recreational amenities seemed nice, but were also somewhat small. The soft drink machine did not offer Coca-Cola products, only Pepsi manufactured products. The location was fairly close to the highway on and off ramps. If we went back to that city again, we would definitely book another stay there, even with the small size, etc.

Beautiful and comfy! Parking structure at a charge and a block or so walk. This is a beautiful hotel and I always am pleased with I end up here through Priceline. I know it will be clean and comfy and I'll sleep well.

The rooms were nice, the staff was excellent and the place really looked great. Room service was quick and and the bar / bartenders were great also. Shuttle will take you most anywhere downtown. A+

I was ready to be entusiastic about my stay until I was charged for parking. There was no mention of that charge at the time of reservation or check in. Any time a hotel adds on a fee by surprise, I feel cheated.

Beautiful view of the river and nice terrace area. Mandatory parking fee. Very luxurious, quiet, beautiful setting and close to good restaurants.

Staff was rude, acted like we were a hassle when a question was asked. Same attitude was shown in the restaurant and at check out, AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU CAN!!!

Update decor, clean. We did have to pay $8 for parking, but overall I would recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant! More staffing needed. The rooms and public areas of the hotel were very nice. The front staff and housekeepers were very accomodating. The restaurant needed more help during both the morning and evening shifts.

When you walk into the hotel is gives you warm welcome feeling. Because there were 2 weddings the shuttle was not available when I wanted it sat. Very nice would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful. My only complaint was a message I left at the desk that they did not deliver. Overall great facility, no complimentary breakfast however.

Very clean. Lack of parking. Hotel was great but hotel parking was cheesy. Parking ramp next to building and a parking charge of $ 8.

Good location, very clean, comfortable bed. Extremely noisy. They placed us in a room right next to the concierge room. The concierge room had a sign on it that it closed at 10:00pm. There was a very loud party going on late into the night. At 2 am we called the front desk. They said they would send security up to see what was going on. For the next 90 minutes it just kept getting louder and louder. It was 3:30 in the morning before things started to quiet down. Even though it was a nice hotel and a nice room, we got very little sleep before having to drive home the next day. They told us that they were sorry about our experience.

Very well decorated. Liked the library with all Iowa authors and the art work will all Iowa artists. Only wish they would have had a complimentary breakfast. Excellent.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. You need a car to get downtown. As Marriott's go, this one is very stylish and cool. The room was ample sized, but not large. Although I did not make use of it, the room was wired for business. The front desk was the only staff I interacted with but they were excellent.
