The hotel is short walk from the train station and close to the center of town. We arrived early and the staff was most helpful in storing our lugage while we went out exploring Bristol. The room was clean, neat and quite which is what we most want in a hotel room. On top of that, the price was very reasonable.

We book this hotel as an offer and found out that it had become an even better offer at arrival. We paid to lowest price! Good hotel located next to a very nice shopping centre and not far from all the tourist attractions. Just what we were looking for!

Comfy bed. Surrounded by enormous construction zone. Not many bonuses or luxuries at this hotel - tidy/comfy room but dirty windows and noise from neighboring rooms. Breakfast included, but not very good. Internet access only available at astronomical rates. Hotel is (in summer 2008) adjacent to an enormous urban construction zone. Somewhat removed from the city center and restaurants, the area around this hotel is deserted at night.

Another good stay at this hotel.

Lovely room. Good food at the restaurant. Did not care for the service at initial check-in. The woman who checked me in was very flippant. But, rating the hotel - room was great, staff a little careless, not too much 'customer service' attitude.

Very good hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. Bristol is a an interesting city.

Beds were super comfortable and superior quality bedding. NA. Overall we had a good experience however, there was a fire alarm in the morning (legitimate, basement fire) and there did not seem to be enough organized control outdoors when it came to informing the masses. The loudhailers did not seem to work and people could not hear enough to be sufficiently informed.

Another good stay at this hotel. Staff and facilities were good.

Good locationLocated right next to Cabot Square, ideal for shopoholics with the added bonus on some really good restaurants and bars if you want as well. We've got a 2 year old and the hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly taking time to interact with during check in which was a big help. Room was spotless with the 2 queen beds which was great. Bathrooom was a little cramped but still clean and functional which is the important bit! We've already discussed going back for a shopping weekend towards Christmas. Other thing to mention was it was a tad noisy at the front of the hotel during the evening but you are in the city centre - not horriffic (little one slept through without problem) but noticeable.

Swimming pool, sauna. Clean. Ok location. Price. Staff - terrible attitude, unhelpful, inefficient. Needs a new GM: the staff, from start to finish and from all departments, were uniformly inept, unhelpful and unaccommodating. Not up to Marriott or 4 star standards and a pretty depressing place to be.

I love this hotel, it offers everything that I desire when staying away from home. It is so close to all the best shops that it is easy to pop back to the hotel with purchases made, throughout the day. The staff (especially the dining staff) make sure that you are all treated as individuals. This is the second time I have stayed in this particular hotel, and I'm sure there will be many more occasions.

Very clean and nice. Toilet tissue was very rough! Excellent for the money, clean and tidy. Other than the toilet tissue being very rough, it was perfect.

Well-lit hallways. Made the hotel's interior feel modern and bright. Had to pay rather high price for internet use in business center. Clean, well lit, modern, upscale hotel near the heart of Bristol. Within 10-15 minutes walking distance to Bristol Temple Meads train station and within 10-15 minutes walking distance to the bus station. Friendly staff and responsive service. A restful stay for weary travelers.

A pleasure to stay there. Excellent facilities and staff. Very good value regarding price. Could not recommend high enough.

Nice entrance and good, clean rooms. Hotel placed us on a floor with a wedding party very noisy. The hotel was nice and clean. The staff seemed to have been flown in from abroad. They were very nice, but didn't seem to grasp simple concepts. I stayed for 2 nights, but had to check out and then in again for the 2nd night. Various things were charged to the room which shouldn't have been. Equally, things which I should have been charged for weren't.

Great location for shopping at the new Cabot Circus development. NCP car park right next to hotel is very handy.

Very comfortable bed and professional, friendly staff. Extremely high wireless internet fee and tricky mini-bar. The Marriott Bristol City Centre is a clean and courteous hotel, with the best cookies ever in the lobby! My room was spacious, and appointed with all the necesicities such as electric teapot, iron, trouser press, hairdryer, toiletries, etc. The mini-bar is activated by sensor, so it is not possible to even look at something without charging your account automatically. The wireless internet, in my opinion, should be complimentary for guests, but instead it is outrageously high with a daily surcharge. The location of the hotel is fairly good as it within walking distance to shopping and attractions. Traffic in Bristol is bad in the evenings so allow time to get to the train depot if you have to take a Taxi during rush hour. Overall the room is everything and more than I expected, being clean, comfortable and accommodating.

Hotel very clean. Leisure club was excellent for unwinding. Service at front desk was terrible. Seemed very lazy...took 5 receptionists to serve 1 customer! While a group of us waited. Overall though, nice hotel.

Convenient and reasonable facilities. Traffic noise, reception staff, parking, bathroom size, significantly inferior than thr other Marriot hotel in Bristol, massive building site nearby.
Date of Stay:
September, 2005
Big, spacious rooms, friendly yet laid back staff. Smoky common areas. Great hotel for one night, would have happily stayed two or more. Very relaxing and restful in quite and busy city. An easy walk or bus ride to most attractions and shopping, bus to train station, then on to airport VERY easily accessible a block from hotel.
