We were looking for a hotel in downtown Montreal that was close to the sites we wanted to see. This was perfect, within a 20 minute walk of everything. The spa, pool, and workout room are excellant. The room was adequate though they could use a little updating, i.e. new flat screen tv's would be great.

doorman were charming and engaging, and the Monday-Friday concierge was also charming and gave us excellent advise about bakeries and restaurants. We wer on the 16 floor on the front of the hotel and the views from our room were outstanding adn helped me get familiar with the area. When we requested a refridgerator, softer pillows, and wine opener, they were delivered immediately. And the apples at the check in desk a daily pleasue!

The architecture, the views were truly unique and created a romantic atmosphere. The dressing/closet area seemed slightly worn or old. This hotel was in a great location because of the easy access to the Metro and underground shopping areas (which came in handy the last day we were there because of weather). The staff was always friendly and accommodating. My husband's key card didn't work and they were hesitant to let him in because the reservation was under my name. He had to show them a picture ID. This reassured us that they do their best to maintain a well secured environment.

Just returned today. We had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. Very friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, and excellent service. Serously. Amazing view from the rooms! We were able to book a day trip to Quebec City through hte concierge. It also has easy acces to the underground Metro system from the hotel lobby. I did not rate the amenities my family and I did not use, such as the pool and the fitness center, but I gave the restaurant a fair rating because it was good but awfully expensive for a family of 6 (breakfast only), and they couldn't get any of the eggs cooked to our specification - we ordered hard fried but despite it being hard fried, the yokes were still very runny. But there are lots of other places to eat so that was not a problem at all. Valet was $24 a day, regardless of how many hours in the day you actually use it. Will most definitely stay here agian though.

Loved the staff, all very eager to help make our stay enjoyable. Beautiful lobby. Hotel room was elegant and very clean. Location was perfect. All we wanted to see was walkable and the underground transit was easy to use to get out to places too far to walk. Parking under the hotel, never needed to see the car again until we left for home.

The hotel was in a great location--center of the city and 50 yards from the Metro line. Lots to do here in this city. We visited the old port area of Montreal, Mont Royal, the Art Museum (Beatles display was nice), McGill U., and all the restaurants were fabulous. A great city to visit with lots to do and great weather!!

The hotel was fabulous. The location is excellent. About two minutes from Rue St Catherine which is one of the two main roads in Montreal where all of the shopping, restaurants and lots of night life is. Sherbourne Avenue which is another main street in Montreal is about two streets north of St Catherine and therefore is also very easily accessible from the hotel. Also just downstairs and pretty much attached to the hotel is a Metro station which makes getting to any part of the city so easy. Not only was the location great, but the employees at the hotel were wonderful. They took the time to show us exactly on the map where every point of interest was that we wanted to go to and also explained how far each one was and how long it would take to get there by Metro. They also showed us on the Metro map exactly which Metro to take and where to get off. We did not eat in the hotel but there are plenty of great restaruants close to the hotel to eat. Also on Rue St Catherine, two minutes away, there are a so many wonderful restaurants. The room was also very large, comfortable and extremely clean. Every night we came back to the room it had obviously been well cleaned and always smelled so nice. Overall, we had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel and I would definitely stay there again

This hotel is in a great location. Just need to take an elevator down to the metro. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Beautiful view of river from the windows. Lots of nearby entertainment, shopping and restaurants. Would definitely return!

As soon as we arrived we knew we made a good choice. You can't beat the location. Everything was walking distance. Good restaurants. Excellent shopping. You can't go wrong with this one. You have to see the Notre Dame Basilica. It's out of this world !

The hotel had an underground metro station that I used to go to all parts of the city. No need to brave the weather when you can do most of your moving around underground!

Metro access from the lobby, friendly staff. Bathroom needs updating, no neighborhood bars or restaurants after dark. The Marriott Chateau Champlain is a great place for business travelers or hockey fans headed for the Bell Center next door. The room was clean and quiet, though the bathroom could use some updates and better lighting. Access to the Bonaventure metro station by elevator in the lobby would make this hotel a great choice in Winter as well. However, there's not a great bit of night life or restaurants near the hotel, and if you're traveling to Montreal to visit the tourist sites of Vieux Montreal, the Plateau, or McGill, you'll have a metro ride or a bit of a walk in store.

Stayed here because it was an "official" hotel for a convention I was attending. Booking a package via an online travel website vs booking through convention's housing authority and booking flight separately saved me over $300.00!! Staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. Having the subway access directly under the hotel was VERY convenient. We took the subway everywhere from Mont Royal, to Olympic Parc, to Old Montreal via the Plais de Congres stop. Loved the way the room were set-up in relationship to the elevators. No floor had more than 12 rooms per floor and the elevator was centrally located. Internet access was free and the signal was EXCELLENT!!! Wireless hubs were in each corner of the floor...four bars and excellent speed. Room was very nice. Bed was very comfortable. The room had these lovely floor to ceiling curved windows that gave us a beautiful view of a park with lovely old churches on both sides, and Mont Royal in the background. Bathroom had this neat dressing area that ccould be closed off using one of the doors of the closet. Starbucks in the lobby, but there was a local coffee shop around the corner. Breakfast in the restaurant was your standard buffet, but the wait staff was very friendly and eager to serve. Host/Hostesses were very professional, even for a simple buffet breakfast. Easy walking distance to two big shopping centers. Highly recommend a restaurant called the The Keg which is two blocks away...sounds like a dive, but it was actually a high scale steakhouse. I highly recommend the spinich salad with goat cheese and raspberry vinigarette dressing if given a choice, and steaks were EXCELLENT.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. A very good quality hotel with a concierge, doormen, bellmen, taxis waiting outside, a nice restaurant/bar, good location, very efficient, friendly staff. The beds were comfortable & had down comforters, feather pillows and a nice view (17th floor). No problem with housekeeping waking us, nor with asking for a late checkout. A service bar is in the moderately-sized rooms. Chocolates were delivered daily. Newspapers on the weekdays. We used the concierge several times & the restaurants they chose were wonderful! The rooms were smaller & the bathrooms were pretty routine but there was a nice dressing area with a lighted mirror. The only thing that would have made this any better would have been if they included breakfast in our great deal!

Hotel was close to everything. Walking distance to shopping areas and restaurants. About 1/2 hr walk to Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and Chinatown. The Service by the hotel employees was great especially by [...] of Reservations and [...] [Concierge].

Little problem with the hotel bill. Tried to charge us more, when already paid through Orbitz.

The comfort, the fabulous view, the amenities. We had to travel to see most sights. This review is for the Marriott Chateau in Montreal. The room was first rate and the view of the old city was fabulous. The bed was so wonderful you could fall asleep immediately. Glorious fluffy pillows and appointments filled the room.

The location of the hotel is nice if you want to be close to the action but not in the middle of it. Front desk was very helpful. The room was nice but it could have been a little bit cleaner. I had to call room service one time; we didn?t receive any washcloths after the room was cleaned. I would stay at the Marriott again.

The best location in Montreal. Almost every area was within walking distance, or an easy bus or Metro ride away. There's even a Metro entrance directly into the hotel. The staff was wonderful. My only complaint is that all floors didn't have ice machines, and at least two were out-of-order, including the one on our floor. I would definitely stay here again.
