I have stayed at this property many times under its prior management as the Collins Plaza. Our room was small and the furniture apppeared diry and definately out of date. The room had old newspapers and dirty silverware on the floor from a previous guest that remained untended for 2 of the 3 nights of our stay. The breakfast buffet was adequate but there were so many flies present at our table, we couldn't enjoy it. While the breakfast buffet was included with our room, we chise to eat elsewhere after the first morning. Service at the hotel lounge seemed slow. As a Marriott Rewards member, I believe I have an reasonable perspective on the standard of quality for Marriott Hotels and our experience was woefully lacking. I think the local hotel management has a lot of work to do to reach what I believe Marriot expects.

This is an incredibly clean hotel with impeccable service. The location is great for our use. The staff is very helpful & attentive, the hotel is very clean, the restaurant is excellent as well as the pool area. It was nice to have a business center to use so I didn't have to take a laptop on the trip. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best place to stay in Cedar Rapids, IA.

I thought this hotel was wonderful! I travel a lot so i see many different types of hotels and this was nice, spacious and the staff was extremely friendly. A tip would be to book the concierge level and take advantage of the fantastic breakfast and just the extra space when you want to spread out and don't want to stay in your room to get some work done. The fitness center is fantastic!!!! The pool is gorgeous! I didn't smell smoke anywhere throughout the hotel. It's very conveniently located and I can't wait to come back to Cedar Rapids and stay here again! The drivers can take you just about anywhere which is cheaper than parking and a lot more handy since you get dropped off right in front and you can call them whenever you're ready to go back to the hotel.

The Marriot was very comfortable, the room was bigger than what I had expected.king bed with sofa and coffee table, desk and chair.wireless internet in the lobby only it did not reach to the 4th floor.the staff was very nice and helpful.the location was very good and easy to access from all major roadways.lots of shopping as well as restaurants nearby.

Beds were extremely comfortable. Housekeeping adjusted temperature in room to a warmer setting which was too hot for us. Very convenient location for us. Staff at front desk were very helpful and kind.

This hotel is located close to Rockwell and AEGON near the interstate. Just finished a large scale renovation. Pool is nice for adults or families and well maintained. Exercise room is adequate but small. Free shuttle transportation is really nice (you tip). I had trouble getting a non-smoking room. I think it is a little pricey for CR.

"When we checked, we asked if there was a possiblity if we could be upgraded to a suite so that we could have extra room for our baby. The staff quickly accommidated us and at no charge."

The hotel personnel is absolutely the best, interested in their guests and interest in providing the best care. The Marriott hotel in Cedar is great, no negatives. I love this hotel, it has everything a traveler need or want. Great rooms and great dining with a great staff who always treat each guest with so much respect.

"We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is beautiful, all of the staff is very friendly. Couldn't have been better!"

It was very clean and decorated beautifully. The mattress was hard and was only about six inches thick we both woke up with back aches. I would stay at this hotel again only if I could check out the mattress. Other than the uncomfortable mattress the hotel get a 9.0 rating from me.

Atrium creats unbearable noise level. Echos throughout hotel. Cigarette smoke every where when we were there.

Nice staff /convenient location. Pool shower needed repair. One of the 2 beds did not look clean. It was a great stay. I had a room with 2 beds. The one I was going to sleep in initially has super wrinkled sheets. It looked like it was used and the bedding was not changed. Other bed was fine.

Price, cleanliness, friendliness of staff. It met my needs, so I can't think of anything. I have stayed in CR several times, and this was the first time that I stayed at the Marriott. I was impressed with the lobby, cocktail lounge and the rooms. I was more than happy to find out that they accepted the price which I was willing to pay.

Had serious trouble with internet working. Internet prices should be clearly posted when logging in. I thought it was free as it is in most hotels, and was surprised to see $10 added to my bill.

It met the expectations for our family because it was near family-friendly restaurants. The tile at the pool was very slippery and the hot tub was very small for the size and pricing of the hotel.

Very comfortable bed, clean room and hotel, upscale feeling. No free breakfast. Staff was courteous, place was very nice inside, quiet, beds had lots of cozy pillows, decent computer workspace in the room. I don't think there was free wireless internet in the room (or at least I couldn't get to it), so I ended up using Boingo, which costs a small fee and works well there. I didn't explore much outside of my room. The pool, hot tub, and exercise rooms looked good, but I didn't use them. I would have liked a better snack selection in the vending machine for after-hours snacking.
