Our hotel room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and spoke perfect English. Quoy, the restaurant on site, had one of the best steaks I have eaten while in Europe. However, it is nearly impossible to get to the front parking pull in (under the entrance awning) on your first try. We had to drive around for 40 minutes before we get on the right road. They should post signs so their patrons don't waste a quarter tank of gas looking for the right way!

Excellent hotel in a wonderful central location. Liked everything. This was a wonderful hotel in a central location. Furnishings were excellent and nice bathtub in the bathroom to soothe your aching limbs at the end of a tiring day. I would say a great hotel for your stay in Amsterdam. I have to thank Priceline for giving me a really good deal on this hotel. Would definitely recommend Priceline and the Marriott to nor and all.

I really liked the bed. It was certainly the best sleep I'd had all week. The service was good and very upper-class, and the breakfast was nice. Location was excellent because I could walk directly to the Rijks Museum. I really appreciated the Concierge service, too, because I was able to get a ticket to the Museums and forego the 2-hour lines to get in. The room was clean, but they missed small details (an old repair sign left on the back of the door, etc.) Beautiful granite in the bathrooms. Great view of the city, but it was loud.

Hotel was in a great location in Amsterdam. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with anything we asked or needed. We ended up needing a roll away bed brought in for one night and it was there when we needed it and there was no extra charge. They asked if we needed extra pillows, etc. Room was always made up when we returned back to the hotel no matter what time we left the room. Very clean and very nice and modern bathrooms. The hotel staff heard we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and one day they sent up strawberries and champagne with a nice note! I would definitely stay at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel again and would tell anyone else who asks me for a recommendation.

Great service, food and great location! Hotel Marriott in Amsterdam was a great experience. The hotel's location is perfect! Walking distance to shops, museums, restaurants, etc. I really enjoyed the food (their French fries are excellent!) and the bed/pillows were very comfortable. I really recommend staying here.

Although this hotel has no charm at all (looks like a 60s apartment building conversion) the location is great and the room was DEAD QUIET!! True, we did not overlook the street. We had four in a room (rare in Europe) and the two double beds were SUPER comfortable. Room is adequate size for two adults and two young teens. Hotel is very close to a very nice park for walking or jogging or picnicing or biking, and the Reiksmuseum and van Gogh museum are close. There are frequent trams nearby. There are some good sights close by. Be sure to rent bikes, as they are a blast and you see tons more. It is expensive (we paid $100 for four bikes for two days) but it is worth it. Get the bikes with three gears. It is very safe and fun to use the bike lanes, but watch out for stupid tourists who block you (the Dutch are very patient - I wasn't, even though I've done the same thing myself - but you get to ring the bell a lot - most satisfying). Rent a bike from the hotel. The price is competitive with the commercial places nearby, and they are WAY better looking - no garish colours and big renter IDs on the bike indicating you are a newbie tourist. Be sure to bike out of town along the Amstel to a totally gorgeous little town - on the way see great countryside, lazy river, lazy boats, a drawbridge, two real windmills - round trip including lunch about five hours or so and not tiring at all. Safe to leave bike locked outside at night with thousands of others. I think the hype about theft is just that. In short, good business-class hotel. Fun. English spoken everywhere.

Room was clean. Serious abuse with some fees. In general this hotel was clean. However, the breakfast is far to expensive at 25 Euro. The business center charges exorbitant fees to use the internet. These fees are so high I might not stay at the hotel again. Phone fees are also high. Lower rooms facing the street are likely to be noisy.

If you like sleeping in someone else's dirty sheets, being ignored by the staff and paying a lot of money for the priviledge, this is the hotel for you. If you like better value for the money, try the NH next door which has a much better restaurant and service. Stay away from the Renaisance too. Same deal, different name.

Located near the Leidseplein area this hotel is a good choice. Clean comfort and an Awesome bed that was one of the best, numerous down pillows. Great area for dinning and fun. Much different that Dam Square or the Centraal Station area all good but this area seems more upscale and we prefer staying in this area. Tram gets you anywhere you need to go. Easy area to book tours, have lunch or waste a few hours in one of the many coffeeshops. We highly recommend this hotel and this area.

The hotel was not as nice as I expected based on the star rating and the amount of money I paid. My stay wasn't awful, but neither would I go there again. My room was very small and the furnishings were dated. The bed was very, very uncomfortable, very hard. The room was not very clean, but this seems to be a widespread problem throughout the hospitality industry lately. Not a bad hotel, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

I liked the location next to VondelPark. The waitstaff at the small restaurant were a little over bearing. Helpful hotel staff. Everyone said hello, good morning or good evening. Nice rooms with a big bathroom for Europe.

"My husband and I had a wonderful 3-night experience at this Marriott Hotel. The newly renovated rooms are large, clean and comfortable with beautiful Marriott Bedding and a glorious bathroom. The location is excellent with many sights within easy walking distance. Otherwise, the trams can have you anywhere, quickly. The area is also loaded with excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes. The staff was very helpful and allowed for early check-in and late check-out. I would hightly recommend this hotel and will stay here next time in Amsterdam."

I've stayed in several hotels through out the world and the Marriott in Amsterdam has been the best. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out we received nothing but outstanding service.

Friendly and professional staff and very comfortable room. No in room coffee maker. Great location, nice king size bed and large bathroom. The staff was very helpful to a couple of clueless tourists like us!

The hotel rooms used to be old and dated (see my review from 2006). All of the rooms have been renovated to the new Marriott Revive rooms. The lobby is still the same & looks a little worn. I had an excellent room on the top executive floor, facing the back of the hotel which overlooked the courtyard and residential area below. The bathroom had a granite sink counter and nice shower. The room had brand new carpet, flat panel LCD TV, very comfortable bed, digital A/C and heat, digital alarm clock with CD, Internet on TV as well as wireless (for a fee). If you have access, the executive lounge is nice and spacious. It's on the top floor with a nice view of Leidseplein and the little Amsterdam "skyline". Free drinks & snacks. The location of the hotel is in the nicer, safer, part of Amsterdam, in the Leidseplein area which has a lot of hip bars, clubs, and good restaurants. The Museums (Van Gogh, Rijks, Rembrant) are a short walk. You need to take a short train ride to get to Central Station and the Red Light District area. Anne Frank house also requires a train ride and some walking. Taxis in Amsterdam are not necesarry, they are expensive, most taxis are Mercedes or BMWs and very comfortable. From Central Station take train line 2, or 5 to get to the hotel. The train stop is right in front of the hotel. Rest. & Room Svc. is not great The service at the Marriott is a little slow sometimes. They do not seem to be adequately staffed at the front desk. It is expensive to stay here, but Amsterdam is expensive unless you want to stay in a hostel, or go in the middle of winter.

We've stayed here twice before and the location is amazing. It is close enough to the city center but distant enough to be away from noise. The tram stops in front. It is walking distance to everything. Their breakfast is fabulous. Staff is always right there to assist you. Orbitz reserved an amazing room for us and a car and all was exactly as descsribed.

Excellent location. Inadequate insulation room was freezing. The hotel is well located near museums, the staff friendly and the room and bathroom exceptionally large for Europe; unfortunately, it was very cold in Amsterdam 5 F and the windows were not insulated nor for that matter was the rest of the room - the ceramic tiles were very cold as well. The heating was inadequate.
