If you are attending a convention at the Salt Palace this hotel is right across the street, so it makes life easy. However the services at the hotel are limited and you'll have to walk around downtown if you want some diversity.

Staff was very helpful at all times.

I wish we would have stayed here the whole trip. The service was perfect, the people friendly, we could walk everywhere, it was a really great bed. We got there in the evening and opened our window to a magnificent view of the temple!

The Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown was very comfortable, especially the beds.Location was right across the street from our conference. The Elevations restaurant has a wonderful breakfast buffet. All the special requests we made were delivered expediently. It would be my choice if I travel to Salt lake City again.

Service was good, location was great. Business center was not free and no free shuttle to the airport. Overall a good experience, the rooms were nice and the flat screen TV with HD service was awesome to have. It is located near a lot of good places to eat and it was relatively quiet. The downside was the 24 hour business center charged you per minute for its use, a week earlier I had stayed in a Marriott in Chicago that was a 3 star and it had a free business center so I expected it for a 4 star in the Marriott chain. Lastly the shuttle to the airport needs several hours notice, but cabs are available for $25 for a 7 mile trip.

The Downtown Marriott has the best location in Salt Lake City. The downtown construction has eliminated the shopping and eating choices for a few years but the construction rates make this still a great place to stay. The tram is free to the Gateway shopping area and the historic Temple Square and visitor's center is a block away.

Large construction of new mall outside of hotel. The hotel is non smoking but I asked for a room with balcony and was upgraded to top floor, which are only rooms with balconies.

Pros - The hotel restaurant's food was really good and waitress was very attentive and friendly. Hotel room was clean. Lobby was nice. Cons - Construction zone around the hotel made it hard to get to, noisy, eye sore for hotel room view. Beware that hotel charges their guests for parking $12.00! With all the construction inconvenience, this should be waived, at least temporarily. Bathroom and room in general are small. It was disappointing. I would not stay at another Marriott again.

Everything was perfect - room features, staff, value and location. Everything was perfect - room features, staff, value and location. Walking distance from Temple Square. Staff was very friendly and kept us in a room away from others.

The Downtown Marriott can be improved. The indoor pool was not quite an indoor pool. The moving roof could not be closed all the way, so the pool was very cold and uncomfortable. The washing machine ruined some of my clothes -- for some reason the gentle/cold cycle remained steaming hot. When brought to the attention of the night manager, all she said was you need to have receipts to get compensated. Very disappointing. I did not have receipts for these brand new clothes because I purchased them at home and not in Salt Lake City. The parking was very expensive. Some nights the maid did not leave enough towels for the 4 of us and she never emptied our ice bucket. The room was somewhat crowded for 4 guests and not enough space for our suitcases.

Clean, attractive, downtown, good restaurant. Getting an internet connection was expensive and overcomplicated.

I am 100% satisfied with my choice to stay at The Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown. The room was very well kept and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on! The pool was also great. It is indoor with a sliding roof (to make it an outdoor pool during the day. The pool was also heated (a big plus). I would strongly advise anyone who is looking to stay in salt lake city to check out this great hotel!

Very clean. Extra $12.00 for parking was unexpected and frustrating.

Would like to have had someone from the front desk at registration check in , offer help getting my bags to my room. No bell hop available and no one else offered Food and room service were very good. Location convenient to convention hall. In site of my first impression with the lack of help with my bags, the staff were generally friendly and otherwise helpful.

The beds were comfortable and theTV and decor were nice as well. The bathrooms were tiny and the staff was not that friendly. I liked the hotel overall, the valet staff was very nice and helpful except for one of them, I was disappointed in the way we were treated and the restaurant was way overpriced.

Was the hotel nice? Yes Was it worth the money? Heck NO! If you want a diet coke in a can, Guess what? $2.00! Oh and if you want to borrow the hotel dvd player like every hotel in America has well guess what? They don't have one because they want you to pay for their movies. Don't even bother going here. Trust me.

There was a Starbucks in the hotel lobby! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Being a caffeine consumer, I really enjoyed having a Starbucks in the lobby! The rooms were very clean and the view spectacular! Also, room service was very good and quick when I needed a late night snack. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, well maintained hotel.

Good location. Gym areas a little cramped. Good central location, comfortable lobby, handy Starbucks in lobby area, easy valet parking and well located for all downtown restaurants and bars.
