booked in on 24.12.07 to the 29.12.07 left on the 28.12.07. Upon arrival we were disappointed to find the deluxe room that we had paid $150 per day was nothing but a sub standard double with the following adding to the stress of our stay; Handle to double glass doors broken with jaggered edges exposed, Leg on outdoor chair half broken (husband fell off), Knobs missing on air conditioner (couldn't regulate to ones needs), Breakfast for two was ordered and only one was delivered (tried to charge us for two on our departure), Desk manager informed of all the above on the first day of our stay by my husband and was treated with indifference by the desk manager on duty on 24.12.07, Double glass doors were filthy, Cigarette butts lying over ground in rooms courtyard area, Leg on double bed was broken. Desk manager on duty on the 27.12.07 was informed that we would be leaving the following morning (28.12.07 apposed to the 29.12.07)and in reply my husband was told that if we had informed them sooner we would have been refunded 1 days payment. We have now (3.1.08) only found out that $100 was taken from my husbands visa on the day of our arrival (for what we don't know) as we paid cash for any extras (mini bar - breakfast). Now we are finding it hard to find a contact number for the Marque Hotel to find out why that $100 was taken. We have never in our stay in hotels been so disappointed in the accommodation as we have in our stay at the Marque Hotel Sydney and feel that the lack of courtesy shown has resulted as a reflexion the lowering of standards shown.

The hotel has been tastefully remodeled but if your room is on George St. side, forget about sleeping. The housekeeping was very poor, bathroom was not cleaned, bed was not made properly and overall such a nicely furnished room was not what I expected in terms of cleaning after you've checked in. They changed our room after 3 requests & 2 days later, and the new room was quieter but the air conditioning was making noises all night long and when we complained, they had no maintenance person on hand. We left 2 days before our original check out time. We were told that the hotel was short staffed and completely booked and that was the reason for lack of proper service. The good thing was that they agreed to refund our money for the 2 days without much hassle.

The room is quite noisy due to the nearby Railway Square intersection. Furthermore, there was renovation going on during our stay, so we were woken up by hammering and drilling at 8am on a Saturday morning.

I liked the new modern decor. Pool not heated. Reception staff was friendly but not knowledgeable about the area. No shower door water got on bath room floor. The interior of the hotel was great with a new modern decor. I enjoyed the look very much. The room was clean and comfortable and I liked the flat screen TV. The exterior of the hotel is very dated. There is much room for improvement with the building's exterior. It was great to have a roof top pool but it was not heated and was very cold. The sauna did not work and the bath at the pool deck was a mess. The staff was friendly but did not have a good knowledge of the surroundings in terms of places to eat and things to do. The shower design allowed the shower water to get all over the bathroom floor and it did not drain effectively. This was quite annoying hallways having to wipe up the floor not to mention a slipping hazard. Due to the amount of water the small floor towel was not adequate for the job. The windows were very dirty obstructing the view of the train station. Free Internet in the room would also be appreciated.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and the hotel and staff have always been very good. lovely renovation. great spot.

An excellent value. New roooms, nice bathrooms, very affordable, and right across the street from Central, the rail, tram and bus complex. The hot breakfast doesn't compare to the one at the Novotel Darling Harbor, which simply has the best breakfast anywhere. But it doesn't cost nearly as much, either. Desk clerks gave us an extra hour before checkout to hang around the pool, and checked our bags until flight time.

Hotel was undergoing renovations; rooms spartan, but clean. Window AC too old to provide cool air. Very well located for travel.

Wasted over an hour with problems with room keys and the lighting system. Staff tried to charge us for a breakfast that was including in our initial booking. Parking would not fit our vehicle, even though this booking was made specifically checked with the hotel to ensure our vehicle would fit (2.35m high).

6th floor, front room had audible traffic noise. Room was spacious and comfortable. Would use it again. Did not use the bar or resturant but they looked very presentable.

tHE HOTEL is located in a great location - short distance from everything - trainstation -Chinatown - buses to everywhere at the door- seemed like most of the refurbishing had been done - our room had a whisper quiet airconditioner and europienlike furnishings - lobby nice and new and clean - staff very helpful - we were able to use our 7 daysm to the fullest - never had to take a taxi - bought a 5 days Sydney pass - to be recommended \We would stay there again -

This hotel has recently been remoddled/renovated (ongoing), and now is a modern, vibrant and well staffed accommodation venue. Rooms are sufficiently large and furniture & fittings are modern and appropriate. Meals are well presented and reasonable in price, with a 'special' offer for night dining. Some staff are obviously new, but are being 'nurtured' by management. Great location next to Central Station. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel was nice-apparently it has been recently upgraded-so the rooms were very modernly furnished. The decor was up-to-date and in good condition. Location was good-very close to central station, shopping areas, bus routes and darling habour. The view from the roof top pool was amazing! The sauna was very nice too.

The room was great and modern. It's a very short walk to Paddy's Markets & the heart of CBD Sydney. The one thing they didn't have was a DVD player and a bathtub which I required for a Valentine's Day night. Otherwise it's a great hotel to stay if you're after convenience, as they are located only a walk away from Central Stn.

From the outside the hotel does not look that great but the newly referbished rooms are great...very modern and comfortable. Everything looked brand new. The rooftop pool and sauna was very nice though the water too cold for my liking.. The rooms are not huge but a lot of thought when into the design because it had everything I needed. The area is very central to everything ...it is a bit noisy but I did not really notice it. Even though it is right accoss the street from the central rail station it felt very safe. Front desk is small but the staff was very accomodating. Great overall value for a central location and nice simple but tastfully decorated rooms.

Great location for that end of town with modern and clean rooms. Lounge and bar area also modern and smart with good service. I'd stay there again.

There were two lifts in the hotel but only one was working whilst we were there which consequently led to delays in it arriving. I believe that there should also have been information leaflets on display about what's on/things to do etc in the area (there was plenty of room in the lobby). Other than these I have no complaints. The shower/wetroom was to die for, the hotel is ideally located for easy access to the rail station. Breakfast was a little pricy for what you got but there are plenty of other outlets in the vicinity to make up for it. If I ever get back to Sydney I would use this hotel again without a doubt.

I have bee staying at this hotel regularly over the last 20 years. Good location and service.
