I thought I should provide you a review of the Marque Hotel that I am staying this week. It is a very gross hotel. The hotel is very old with most fixtures damaged e.g. the lock is shabby, the tiles around bathtub are broken. Carpet is very dirty and paints are going off. Even the bed sheet is torn with strange smells. Very poor room lightings. Noise insulation between rooms is terrible. I can constantly hear the doors banging in the morning.The reception is not always attended. I could not stay in the first room I was put to as it was right above the hotel driveway, however, the second room (which is a downgrade from the first room) doesn't seem any better except it's not facing the driveway. I was talking to the taxi driver who picked me up this morning from the hotel. Apparently, he got customers with unpleasant experience with this hotel as well, so I guess I'm not especially picky. :)

excellent size room, the resteruant was very good espcialy the buffee breakfast, location ideal to main shopping centre, the only down side is mini bar vey expensive, Will stay there again.

The fire alarm went off four times throughout the duration of our stay which was one night. Not very pleased with that. The water pressure in the shower left a bit to be desired as well which was disappointing because it was an otherwise pleasant stay. The staff are very courteous

A weekend booking meant the ground floor spa room facing the road was quiet, would not be sure mid-week. The bathroom was almost as small as the one on the space station and would not suit a large person, fitttings rather dated - spa bath in the room. Corridors drab - carpets quite tired and uninspiring brown paint scheme a little offputting. Occupancy rate was not high when we were there, so the only two staff looking after restaurant and bar could cope. Cocktail happy hour good fun and value. We had a very good evening meal in the restaurant - chef seems very capable. Breakfast was unspectacular but reasonable value. TV had limited Foxtel channels and some terrestrial channels were unwatchable. Bed linen and towels of good standard. Did not have time to use the pool.

Reception staff were very friendly. Room was lovely, however we experienced really bad reception on quite a few of the television stations which was disappointing as the Tri Nations was on!!! Problem was reported but not fully addressed by the maintenence staff.
