We booked the apartment in June 2009. When we stepped into the apartment, we were totally shocked at the state of it. The carpet in the bedroom was stained quite badly as if someone had been sick, and the curtain were falling off the rails. Not expecting this, given the very nice pictures and promises on their website. The management was also not at all interested to address feedback. We requested for another apartment and it was even worse with dirty utensils and crockery in the dishwasher. And after my stay when I sent the email to the GM, all he could say was that they had checked the apartments before and it was ok. He did seem bothered with the feedback given and when we tried to call him over the phone to give feedback directly to him, he was unreachable and did not return any phone calls. They seem not to be interested in addressing customer feedback at all. Definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone. In fact, please avoid it at all costs.

Great location & venue but...The check-in procedure is so VERY cumbersome as you have to provide photographic ID before they will confirm booking. As I travel a lot and book very last minute (late rooms) this proved to waste a hell of a lot of my precious time. Otherwise excellent accommodation.

First time apartment userAfter the initial confusion regarding booking in (had to go to Queen Street apartments first to get checking in code and apartment number), the apartment was well located, clean and comfortable. Couldn't get the pay phone or broadband connected but I didn't try to hard as I had a mobile and Blackberry.I would recommend the apartments rather than using a hotel room, far more spacious and relaxing. I have just booked into another Marlin Apartment at Canary Wharf as I enjoyed the apartment at Tower Hill.

For a family of 5 it was great to have an apartment to sleep everyone, we were able to request a fold out bed for a guest to stay and were able to add an extra night at the end of our stay. The location was good for public transport. Not many eating places close by was only fault.

Good location. Car parking not too far away. No battery in smoke alarm, so continuous bleep - after 5 mins tempted to drop kick it into the Thames, but removed the old battery. Good idea to have an ironing board - even better would be to provide an iron. No hot water for shower. Turned on the switch near the boiler, but still no hot water for shower! Clean kitchen. Clean bedding. My business colleage's room was all perfect, so luck of the draw I guess. 6th floor apartment.

Excellent option for the business traveller tired of hotel lobbies and shoe box rooms!Well furnished comfortable light modern apartment, a real home from home for the business traveller who is fed up with the prices charged by London hotels for shoe box rooms. A good pub on the corner, right in the City of London, close to Tower Hill tube, coffee and tea provided, freeview box for TV (although would benefit from a rescan to get the latest channels such as Dave ja vu). Kitchen well equipped, and ironing board and iron provided. TV in lounge and bedroom. Would use again.

Marlin Apartments Tower Bridge ReviewComfortable a spacious. Having a living room with separate bedroom, kithchen, bathroom obviously contributed to this. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready by 3 o'clock and ourselves and a number of other had to wait 20/25 mins in the lobby. Thereafter as we'd planned to go straight out and we were still able to leave our bags it wasn't a major concern on this occasion at least.

London experienceOne of the most strategically located apartments, not far away from the station in zone 1.It is one of the best rooms I had stayed in. The rooms were full with utility and had a ready made kitchen too..fully loaded. facilities were great and the option of check in and check out is quite good.. Would recommend it to every1. This is by far the best rooms ever and the best experience I had..

I thought the booking and requirements prior to booking were awful. Clear information was not given on the website and this was not updated. I found that all contact numbers given were not correct and was passed to various other telephone numbers before my query was answered. The stay in the apartment was good, room was clean and tidy, however one of the rooms smelt of cigarrettes and that was very unpleasant. The TV was not very good, was always crackling and sounded like it was going to explode. Overall stay was excellent and would recommend to someone else to stay. Location was not great as the view outside the window were cranes!

Give me at least a TV that works and a clean (ish) carpet2nd time I've stayed at Marlin and had to become a TV technician to get a picture and sound. The set top box didn't work. When the building administrator/facilitator thought she'd fixed it she didn't seem to appreciate I would have preferred sound alongside pictures. 5 snowy channels. Carpets were disgusting. I have been a regular of Marlin but will be looking elsewhere, particularly as prices are creeping up.

This was far better than stopping in a hotelThere was a room to relax - watch TV & have a drinkIt was like living home from homeThe only compaint if you can call it a complaint is that there was no frying pan

Corridor smelt really bad, they where unorganised when we booked it last minute, we had to ring 4 times to get them to give us the code for the door and our key, where woken up at 8am by loud music coming from a flat below us.

Generally very positive - the apartment was spacious, simple but clean. Previous trips at Marlin apartments included a small basket of consumables and some lovely toiletries (Molten Brown). This enhanced the stay and made breakfast very convenient - it was a disappointment that this small luxury has been discontinued.

OK But dubious as to wether I would stay again?Hotel details promised a food hamper on arrival as the stay was over 3 days - NO food hamper. On enquiring the next day (as the concierge service finishes at 5pm) was told that this was no longer a service they provided and Laterooms had not updated the website!? A very matter of fact apology. Apartment was generally clean & modern but the view was a brickwall. On the 1st floor there is a strange smell in the corridors, like burning rubber or stale bins...not sure which? There was also two bags of rubbish left by the lift for a couple of days and corridor carpets were stained? So Standards beginning to slip from the year before when I stayed which was good. www.a1stores.co.uk

Where do I start, what was suppose to be a relaxing two night stay quickly became a nightmare. I forgot my keycode number, which was clearly my fault however, I hoped that someone at least would answer the phone as I tried the two numbers listed for assistance. If if wasn't for LateRooms assistance I would still be at the front door. The reception area was dirty and smelly - not the welcome you want with your mum. Unfortunately this trend continued as the hallways were awful, stains on the carpets and what is that smell. The room was shabby and not to the standard of other Marlin apartments which I have stayed in. No milk or coffee and a very noisy road.On wanting to cook one evening this was complicated by the fact that there was no frying pan or trays for the oven. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Good value for money. But they emailed me 3 days before arrival to say what I had booked 2 months ago was no longer available and we had to have separate apartments. Wasn't very impressed as it was a birthday present. Having said that the accommodation they swapped it for was very good.

Overall, definately value for money being in central London. Just a few issues on the maintenance front though - one of the bedrooms had no light bulb, the mattress in one of the bedrooms had badly sunk in the middle and the shower head kept falling off in the on-suite room. I didn't see these issues as spoiling our stay there at all though.
