Stayed 2 nights to attend a course held locally. Reasonable price, excellent friendly service, very clean room, kitchenette was a useful touch, breakfast was good.

Like practically all Oxford accommodation: expensive for what it wasThis "hotel" is really more "motel": the room was in a separate building and was fairly basic, but did include a small kitchenette. It was however, very expensive for what it was: especially given that it is a fair walk into town (don't be fooled by the description on the website - its a 30 minute walk to anywhere useful, although there is a fairly frequent bus service from nearby). The service from the receptionist was excellent - he was very helpful - but it was disappointing that breakfast was only served during fairly narrow windows. If you want a clean, basic room, and accept that Oxford accommodation is ridiculously overpriced, then the Marlborough is fine. You'll get better bargains more centrally if you're able to travel off-peak or book very early or late.

A very pleasant place to stay. Excellent room with kitchen facilities. Breakfast brought to room. Within reasonable walking distance of city centre.

A good basic double room. The small kitchen area was very useful and very well stocked.I think that for a small bed and breakfast it was overpriced, but the service was excellent

Room acceptable and clean. Limited parking. Cleaners left windows open while our belongings were in the ground floor room. Over priced; should be around £60 per night B & B.

I truly despise hotels (or in fact any retailers) who add a surcharge for using a credit card. You either take the cards, or you don't. I actively seek to avoid any establishment like the Marlborough House Hotel who levy such charges but the T&C's were so far hidden that I missed this one. When I queried the charge, the staff were unwilling to discuss the matter and insisted that th eonly way to avoid the charge would be to pay by debit card or cash. Will not be staying here again.

Staff very helpful, very comfortable room and good breakfast. Particularly liked the fact that the room had a fridge, etc, and that complimentary juice, yoghurts, etc. were provided. Nice touch.

Everybody was very helpful and the room was clean. Particularly liked the mini-kitchen in the room. Felt quite familial and a nice change from the usual business box that charges a fortune. Breakfast was served in the room, which I thought was nice -personal taste.

Large room. Large bathroom. Ground floor access. Microwave and fridge in room.Inclusive breakfast was brought to my door. Friendly service. I've nit found such good value in Oxford before.

Our room was small and the kitchenette unnecessary but a good location and easy to get the bus into town. Staff were friendly and helpful. We may just have been in a bad room, bathroom was basic.

We really enjoyed our stay - room was huge!! Breakfast was good and was brought to our room in the morning. Would definitely stay again. Good location - only 5 mins by bus to oxford, and 15 mins to Blenheim Palace.

Pretty poor and consequently way over-priced - its worth about £40 per night - not the £100 we paid

Oxford accommodation seems very expensive & this is one of the cheaper options (we paid £85.00)...staff very friendly, rooms have a liitle kitchenette. rooms need updating but are very clean.

Staff were incredibly polite and very helpful. A good choice of breakfast was offered including vegetarian option, and the room had tea/coffee making facilities plus a small mini-bar.

The bathroom was very dirty and hairs left from previous guests. General decor and carpets was very tired. Place to stay when there is nowhere else in town.

I stayed 2 days and must say that what really impressed me was how clean everything was 5 stars on this subject. The fact that breakfast is only served in the room could be of a plus for someone staying alone at the hotel but when with others it really isn’t very social, though I would stay again in the future.

We was phoned at8.00 pm the information the hotel has not a night service and check-in ends at 10.00 pm. This is not at all a confortable situation, especially if you still are 140 km away....

English breakfast was not good at all. Eggs were powdered! Spoilt the experience although I may return but would go for a continental next time.
Date of Stay:

Heating could have been better if the radiators had been bled. Antique plumbing in the bathroom. BUT very nice room, comfortable bed with firm mattress and lots of shelves in the bathroom. Spacious room and lovely breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly. Plenty of sidestreet parking.
