I booked marina inn for four night stay at orbitz . I call them and informed before arrival that i will be checking in late . After traveling 6 hours i arrived at the hotel at midnight . The front desk staff told me that my reservation was canceled and they have given my room to someone else . They had had no room available and booked 100% .I had to go find another room in the middle of night with luggage what a pain!!! . I would stay away from hotel . All orbitz was able to do was refund my money back . Not recommended

Its really artistic!! even very tiny parts are cared by desingers. Not really. When we needed to go a little bit far from downtown, where we stayed at, the hotel provide a free ride to there. Overall, the hotel was really fancy and artistic so we all feel very special.

This place is noisy. It is right on an intersection, and the inside walls are paper thin. If you are light sleeper, it can be difficult to get a good night's sleep. And the comforter was the dirtiest I have ever seen. There was no thermostat to adjust the temp, there was this tube blowing out hot (warm) air. It just wasn't enough for the night time lows around 30s/40s.

The area is nice and close to attractions. The staff was very accomodating especially when we complained what looked like bedbugs on the sheets. They tried to assure us that not all rooms were infested. The room itself was your basic room but we did not give the hotel a chance to find us another room. The thought of bugs crawling on our skins at night was a deal-breaker. We had a good time on our vacation despite having to find lodging at the last minute. The staff was great but it does not make up for the bugs and lack of amenities in the room.

We spent a week in San Francisco and stayed at the Marina Inn. I would recommend this motel to others while making it completely clear that this is NOT an extravagant hotel. If you are looking for a simple room/bed to sleep in while in San Fran at a decent price, this is the place for you! We spent very little time in our room so it made our small room appropriate. The 'continental breakfast' was pathetic at best. (English Muffins with butter only, Packaged Oatmeal, Coffee, and cheap OJ) We enjoyed our stay because we were out enjoying the wonderful city of SF. I would recommend this motel, but don't go expecting 5 star accomodations...you will be dissapointed otherwise.

Spacious room, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Just the on street parking. It is what it is. Very clean, great staff, good location, overall a great! Only drawback is no parking. I will definitely stay here again!

We arrived Feb. 28th, 2009 and checked into the hotel in the late afternoon. After spending just a few hours in the room we discovered bugs crawling in the sheets and on the mattress. They were unquestionably BED BUGS - blood sucking parasites that live in the mattress and feed off of human blood. Besides getting itchy, painful bites, the bigger problem with bed bugs is that they are easily transported home in your clothes and luggage. Once your home is infested it is extremely difficult to get rid of them. Often you must throw away your mattress and any other porrous furniture and endure several visits from an exterminator to get rid of them. Reddish/Brown stains on the sides of the mattress and box springs indicated a long, ongoing infestation problem. Don't risk staying at this infested hotel and bringing these pests home with you! Besides the bugs the rooms were dirty, tiny, noisy, and have no air conditioning. There is also no parking and virtually no available street parking unless you go 5-6 blocks away from the hotel. We checked out as soon as we spotted the bugs, lucky that we never actually slept there! We ended up trudging through the streets of San Francisco with all our luggage at midnight until we finally were able to hail a cab to our new hotel. Avoid this hotel like the plague!

Although the room had no air conditioner and no window screen in a 4th floor room, it was clean, quiet and accomodating for my needs. The location was far from the happennings of downtown San Francisco but I was able to take a bus downtown and take a taxi when needed to visit a friend of mine. I would highly reccommend this hotel for couples and perhaps a weekend get-a-way. It does have a hair salon and barbershop on premises as well as free breakfast items like coffee, tea, muffins, boiled eggs, etc. No real grocery stores in the area. I went to the nearest service/gas station a block up the road. I got a great deal price wise as well! Thank you [...]

Very comfortable, very friendly staff, older style rooms but very comfortable and close to public transportation. Perfect for a weekend getaway and very friendly helpful staff.

I drove for 9 hours and arrived at this hotel at 1am only to discover they have no parking lot. There is no street parking to be found. Had to park at an overnight parking structure 5 blocks away and walk down the street with all of my luggage. on line travel website would not change my reservation for that night because it was so late, unless I paid a more than * dollar penalty, so I was forced to stay there; buyers beware! The front desk clerk was not there when I arrived. I was standing on the sidewalk in the cold, vulnerable with all my luggage, because they lock their front door at night. It was 2am now and I was nervous. Since nobody was answering the doorbell I used my cell phone. The clerk answered and apologized then let us in. The place is old and dirty. The room was small and the view was of a busy street, without charm. The TV was the smallest I'd ever seen in a hotel. The blinds made me feel less than totally private, were difficult to use, dirty, and starting to look haggard. In fact the whole room looked that way. The furniture was old and very scratched, or maybe they would say it was rustic? There was no coffee in the room. There was a lot of debris under the bed. The shower was pitiful. I'm 5 feet nine inches. The shower head was at my neck and the water pressure was poor. The plumbing was noisy. The stairway creaked. I felt like I was in another country, the standards were so low. I would never stay there again.

We tried to check in. The front desk girl said she did not have our booking (but we did have a confirmation from orbitz) and that was she thought she should have do. She offered no help, did not offer to use the hotel's phone to call orbitz, did not offer to use her PC and WiFi to show her the confirmation etc. She thought this was our problem and we should sort it out with orbitz. Parking on a hot sunny day in downtown san francisco, we spent well over an hour to try to solve it (having a baby in the car crying) and finally gave up and went somewhere else. Fortunately orbitz refunded us the cost of this booking. Stay away from this hotel.

The location. There was no room with 2 separate beds.

The rooms are nice. But they don't have air conditioner so you have to keep the windows open for ventilation. This would be ok but for the fact that the hotel is on a busy street. All night you hear horns beeping, fire rescue sirens, and busses. Also , the showers seemed to be made for small 4ft. people. We had to keep our knees bent to get under the running water. As far as the complimentary breakfast...it's ok. It will do the job if your hungry. (packaged muffins, hard-boiled eggs, O.J. & coffee). The hotel was good for the money but I wouldn't hesitate trying something new next time.

This was our 1st trip to the San Francisco/Bay Area. We had a great view from our room overlooking Lombard Street. The room was very clean, the concierge was prompt & always available when we needed anything such as extra towels, soap, info., etc. Although they do not have parking available on site most of the time we walked & or took a cab as most attractions are that close to the Inn. Next time we head to the Bay we will definitely being staying at the Marina Inn once again.

Areasonably good value. Rooms were too noisy. The hotel is well located and a reasonably good value for San Francisco. The room was clean and comfortable though not luxurious. The included continental breakfast was fine and free WIFI appreciated. My only real complaint is the poor soundproofing of the room from street noise and noise in nearby rooms.

Very small room and furnishings need updating. Staff nice and pretty good continental breakfast. Price is good. Questionnable whether I would stay there again.

It was great. We walked to the Fort, the waterfront and several fine restraunts. We lucked out with parking on the street.

We liked the convenience the location offered and the knowledgeable staff. The bed was a little hard/springy. This hotel does not offer parking other than on the street which wasn't a problem for us. The ice machine is located on the first floor so we had to go down from our room. The bed wasn't comfortable and the shower temperature was very touchy. Other than those factors, I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends as a great value for the price. We were happy with our location, service, and amenities and plan on staying here again.

It was way good for the price my total with Orbitz coupons and the cheap price of the hotel at the time I paid only 114.00 or so for three nights. It was literally the cheapest decent hotel in all of San Francisco. Definitely a good deal if you can get it for this price... even if it was a little higher I would still stay here again for sure. If you don't sleep easily through traffic noise (which is no problem for me) then I wouldn't advise you to stay here unless you get a room on the opposite side of Lombard St.

It was cheap, convenient and the staff was excellent. Small rooms. Great overall experience given the price.
