Standard tourist class hotel in a good location in downtown Cancun. Well maintained & clean hotel, but very basic. Nice pool & outdoor restaurant area. Friendly English speaking staff. Bar across the street can be noisy, so try to book a room in the back if possible. Bed is a little hard; typical for Mexico. No problems with my Orbitz booking.

A clean hotel located in Cancun downtown. Ok hotel, nothing special but clean. If all you need is a place to rest your head, Hotel Margaritas is a good option.

We chose this hotel to get a more authentic flare of Cancun. The hotel is quite old, and could use some repair, but it was kept very clean. It is a very basic place. Bring your blow dryer and beach towels. The front desk was always helpful with questions and directions. The showers are always cold to lukewarm, and that was the only complaint. We walked to Walmart (10 -15 min walk) and bought a small cooler. The front desk got ice for it all of the time, but you have to have your own container. Overall we were happy with our stay and enjoyed the local people and food.

We stayed in Isla Mujures during our Mexico visit, but stayed here the last night before returning home to be closer to airport. The hotel was Excellent. Upon arrival, staff was extremely courteous, helpful and always smiling. It was very clean and we watched staff continually sweeping, cleaning and maintaining appearance. Bar was nice. Pool was nice. We were very impressed with the service, employee attitudes and the overall appearance and cleanliness of the facility. Great price for the stay! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not in the center of the hotel zone or all of the main activity, but it is a very nice place to stay especially for the price. It is about a 25 minute ride from airport via taxi (about 25). Taxis are plentiful to take you anywhere.

Don't expect a mint on your pillow in the evening. This hotel is located in and around where the locals live and eat. Many fine restaurants and clubs very near by. Some might find the clubs too close. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. The hotel met all my expectations and then some. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel would be a great deal if you could handle the cold showers you have everyday. I talked with the front desk everyday plus I asked other guests if they had cold showers. We all had the same issues. I had to make a scene at the front desk on day three before I got them to turn up the heat on the water. Each room is separate and if you don't throw a fit they are not going to help you. Since you are out in the hot sun all day, taking a shower and washing your hair is necessary. I would not go back to this hotel for this reason.

First I'd like to thank people who wrote so accurate reviews here about this hotel. Once we got there, it was we've been there again! Well, the best advantage of that hotel is the LOCATION! Guys, the hotel is at the best location of Cancun! It's in the middle of anything. Within LESS than 1 minute walking, there are: Super-market, 24/7 pharmacy (with doctor available for free!), two clinics, bank (Santander, where you can use your ATM card for withrawing - I used a Bank of America Debit card), laundry shop (36 pesos -~3 dollars- for 3 kgr clothes), a WONDERFUL Mexican restaurant (La Parillia, where with 20-40 dol. two can eat like kings and with 10 dol. the "Mariachis" will sing a song for you and your g/f ;-)), argentinian restaurants, bakery. I didn't have the time to explore and discover more! You will also find clubs (like discos), but not fancy life. If you want to visit clubs and almost ANY american restaurant (Subways, Fridays, McDonalds, Starbacks etc), you have to drive for about 10 minutes, where the Hotel zone is. Regarding the hotel itself, I would say that it's more than what you pay for. The room was comfortable, clean and colorful. The stuff super polite, as ANY MEXICAN we met there. Well, there's so much poverty arround, but even so these people are still so nice. Even the cops were very friendly! :-) There's also private (free for the clients) parking behind the hotel. The negatives I should share with you, are the low pressure and the law temperature of the water in the bathroom, the horrible shower towels, and the noise during the night. But if you are not too picky, you can live with that! We did! I wish you all a nice staying!

We decided to stay at Margaritas Hotel in Cancun for our first night in Mexico, before heading inland to exlore different Maya sites. The hotel is located in downtown Cancun in a liveliy area with many local shops and restaurants. The hotel room was very clean, but that's about it. Neither the room nor the rest of the hotel is anything to write about - good or bad. If you need an inexpensive place to spend your first or last night of your trip to the Yucatan, then this is a good place for you. However, I would not stay there for an extended visit, it's just not that comfortable or exciting.

This is an easy hotel to get to and get around from. The rooms are clean, the staff very helpful and has secure parking behind hotel. A good location for resturants right down the main street and acess to sports bars for the USA events. (NFL). Hotel resturant is o.k. - mainly buffet if you like that local food. Has internet room to keep in contact with outside world. Overall it is a very good place and has great front desk staff that speak English. Will stay again.

When we arrived, our hotel room was shockingly dirty. The entire room was worn out and dirty and old. The sheets were thin and grey and dingy, as well as the comforter.

A very good value. Clean, friendly staff, nice little resturant. The hotel iscentrally locate and within walking distance of shopping plazas and many resturants. A nice park is near by. Our cost was less than 1/2 the book cost. This not a fancy, Luxurious hotel but probably the best down town baragain in Cancun.

We stayed here for one night before returning to the states. I had never stayed in downtown Cancun before and it was a nice change. The hotel is is a great location - on the same street as several restaurants and bars. It was a 5 min walk to Market 28 and Walmart too. Basically the only thing missing was the beach, but we had been there for several days already. The mall was a 2 cab ride away. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only reason for the lower rating on the beds was that this is no Westin (LOL). But it was good enough and the sheets were soft, not scratchy like at some of the other cheaper hotels here. I got a great night's sleep. The staff was great. There was a problem with the keycard on our door but they got security and maintenance up right away to fix it. They also let me use the internet a few times for free.Overall, I would definitely recommend you stay here if you are wanting a Cancun experience away from hotel zone. At those prices, you should stay at least one night in this area.

Margaritas is in a great downtown location and was very comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. No face cloths and we had to ask for an iron but we got one within minutes of asking. The desk staff was very helpful. I left a note for extra towels and my request was granted. There are several computers for guests to use and they are free. Breakfast was very good and lunch was excellent. This was a terrific value hotel. I will stay there again.

We thought the hotel was very adequate for our needs(stayed only one night before deaprting back to the US). there was no hot water, but that didn't matter considering the temp. outside. I would consider it a ""Globe Trekker"" experieince. We had dinner at the Parillo, just about a block away, very nice and moderate in price.

This hotel is an outstanding value in a good location, especially if you are a young person. Many business men there using the wireless hotel and the staff is outstanding in every respect.

This hotel is in downtown Cancun and is a great value for the money. The food is very good and the hotel staff is very attentive although you may only find English speaking staff at the front desk, so take your phrase book with you! I would definitely recommend renting a car if you stay here to make the trip a little more fun/relaxing ($200/week at the airport). Parking right in front of or on the side of the hotel is easy to find. The beach is about 10 min away in a car, or you can take the public transportation. There are a lot of restaurants and bars near the hotel as well as other shops. The hotel zone in Cancun is very busy/touristy, so renting a car and doing a little exploring is a great way to see the Caribbean side of Mexico and the Mayan ruins that abound on the Yucatan without paying a hefty price. There is a Walmart close to the hotel that will give you a good exchange rate as well as a grocery store to buy a few things you might need like the sunscreen that the TSA confiscates from you. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Also there is a lady across the street who will do your laundry for a few dollars and she does a great job, she even pressed my t-shirts! They have free internet and have information on tours and everything that you will need. Give it a try!

The Margaritas Cancun was a good value for the money. We were looking only for a nice, clean place to stay in Cancun before moving further south. Although the hotel is in the downtown area, the beaches are only a bus or taxi ride away.
