Many Glacier Hotel East Glacier Park

Built by Louis Hill and the Great Northern Railway in 1914-1915, Many Glacier Hotel is the largest hotel in the park. The hotel was modeled after chalets found in Switzerland. A Swiss theme is apparent throughout the hotel, especially in the main dining room where the flags of Switzerland's cantons adorn the walls. The lodge is located right on Swiftcurrent Lake and offers spectacular views of Mount Gould, the parks most photographed peak, Grinnell Point, and Mount Henkel. The surrounding panoramas are home to a variety of wildlife. Grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and deer can all be found in the nearby forested areas. If you're lucky, you'll get the chance to see a full double rainbow arch across the entire valley after a rainstorm. The Many Glacier Hotel offers many indoor amenities. There are about 211 rooms, and tall picture windows that overlook the lake and the mountains in the background. The lobby provides a large freestanding fireplace, perfect for warming up with a good book and hot chocolate at night. The hotel staff, known for their hospitality and performing talents, usually entertain guests with musical and theatrical productions. Every night, the Park Service also gives a slide presentation on topics such as the park's history, geology, wildlife, and wildflowers.
