this is the worst five star we have stayed in paid for a sea view and got a very cold back room will be asking for a refund as we should have been charged 288 instead of 252 which was a sea view price . The food and hotel should be rated a 3 star what a shock would never stay again.

The hotel was small, but great. My girlfriend and I had a great stay and the hotel staff were very helpful when our circumstance changed and needed to stay another night. I would definantly recommed it to anyone wishing for a relaxing stay.

very nice breakThe Mansion House seemed a very well run hotel and cusotmer service was clearly top of the adgenda for them. The breakfasts were lovely and the waiting staff really attentive. Our room was at the top of 5 or 6 flights of stairs, but as these houses are built this way I suppose its only to be expected. We stayed in room 17, which had a fab view of the sea & Scarborough itself , the room was very clean and well appointed, with a lovely sleigh bed, and was very light & airy. My only negative comments are that although the room was well appointed with all you'd need, flat screen tv etc, it was a bit on the small side and if you had the option I'd ask for rooms on the floor below as they have bay windows and seem much bigger. Also the curtains didn't have blackout linings so as soon as the sun came up the room was light. Still we didn't go to sit in the room!

Customer service was outstanding, Dan welcomed us with a complementary drink in the lounge, and gave us much useful info to make our one night stay enjoyable. Location and food brilliant. the only comment was that the room was small, with not much room for belongings, however view was amazing.

Last minute week-end breakSuper view from superior room at front of building on first floor. Situated in a beautiful and quiet part of the south end of esplanade. However I do have to say that If the cliff lifts are closed it is quite a climb to the hotel if you are unable to climb a steep hill, however a taxi would resolve that problem. Main complaint we would have was that the shower water temperature was not very warm.

nice view, lovely staff, shame about the roomA double room squeezed out of a single sized bedroom, couldn't move around the room without banging into furniture it was so narrow.Strange smell in the minute bathroom ,the ensuite toilet/bshower was the smallest i have ever encountered, anyone with any mobility problems would not be able to cope.Curtains with no lining so light streaming into the bedroom by 5AM, sitting 'cheek by jowl' in the breakfast room.Lovely situation, staff v.nice, but overpriced for what you got, the 2 'ensuite' is a joke, the floor space of the 2 together barely makes up the average sized one bathroom you get in most B&B's,and hard to understand why 5 star?.Very disappointing.

Executive room very small, nice hotel but is really a bed/breakfast. no evening meal or bar, overpriced.

Hotel is actually very nice for couples no doubt, I had a single room, I could touch both walls with arms outstreched, lovely view Not, and shower and toilet fitted into size of the single bed so 3ft wide more or less, so not good value, in my opinion.

A welcoming friendly hotel wonderfully situated with a gorgeous view. The room was very cosy and so was the hotel. It was very clean. The shower was a bit small but ok. The only thing that could have caused a problem if we had been tall was the bed - it was quite small. I don't think it would have been long enough for a tall person. Very happy with the stay and would definitely love to go back to the same hotel.

This is the third time I have stayed at this Hotel, and if I have to return to Scarborough again I would not hesitate to stay there again. I have always received a warm and friendly welcome.

Can only apologise for not reviewing this marvellous hotel sooner. The staff were superb, the room was beautiful and the food was just unbelievably good. If you stay anywhere in Scarborough this has to be the place.

easy to park the car outside the hotel which did seem a problem for other hotels. No evening meals due to staff problem but did recommend other places to eat. Breakfast was very good. Room not very big but ok for short stay and depite other reports the bathroom was an OK size. Staff very friendly and helpful and hotel was very clean and the decoration was lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

I stayed in an executive single. It had 2 single beds? Why? Both were very narrow. Also the room only came with a shower and very very small bathroom. If this is executive I must be Chairman!

Our stay was very enjoyable, not least because of the genuine caring interest the Proprietors took in and of their guests, ourselves and many of the other guests. The high quality of cleanliness, presentation, service and food were all very noticable. Should the opportunity arise we would stay again. Many thanks Brian and Annette

Very helpful staff and a very nice room with excellent views of the bay ,its a long way to the top floor up several flights of stairs which was the only drawback but overall i was very happy with the accomodation.

Its worth having a seaview,we really enjoyed that. Unfortunately the chef was off sick so we had to dine out but we followed the hotel recommendations and got a discount at two good restaurants. Parking outside the front was easy.My son loved the cooked breakfasts. I would have preferred an organic choice such as live organic yoghourt but I had lots of fruit! The service was very good.

The views from the hotel are beautiful. A nice quite location but within walking distance of the town.

Clean, comfortable hotel. Decorated in Edwardian style. No complaints on the quality and comfort of my room. I can not comment on the food as I only had breakfast, (but that was good). The staff were friendly and attentive. This is a quiet hotel in a quiet area of Scarborough, so if \"quiet\" is your thing, it's ideal. It's a 20 minute walk into town (downhill) and a 30 minute walk back (uphill), so if you want a hotel close to the bars and restaurants, think again.
