Faralya - Uzunyurt
Oludeniz, Turkey

Description:
The Mandarin Boutique Hotel is found in the sleepy hamlet of Faralya , making this an excellent Butterfly Valley 5 star hotel in Turkey. This idyllic retreat is also a short drive or bus ride from Fethiye as well as Oludeniz , which is one of Turkey's most famous seaside resorts due to its very photographic beach lagoon. This rural haven was opened in the summer of 2007 , and it is the ideal location for those who want to experience south west Turkey's unspoilt natural surroundings. Ideal for a honeymoon or a romantic holiday in Turkey , in the Fethiye region , this Faralya hotel has deliberately kept itself small and children free , so as to offer personal service , tranquillity and complete privacy. The Mandarin Boutique Hotel features an outdoor Jacuzzi and a large swimming pool , where guests can swim or enjoy a massage without being disturbed by the splashes and noise which usually spoil the peace and quiet at larger hotels. The hotel's staff can arrange excursions to some of the area's sights like the Butterfly Valley. An indoor fine dining restaurant is also available on the premises. Please note: that children are not allowed apart from if you book the whole hotel.

We found this place while searching the net for a quiet spot around Oludeniz,we booked directly with the manageress who was more then helpful and we stated for 10 days in early May.We have travelled a lot around the world and I can say that this place beats all of them with all aspects,as accommodation, quality of service, food which is aimed for all different tastes, the peace and quiet of the location, the easy access to different sites, views of sea and mountain and lovely walks with our host Pasha flower filled valleys, stunning pine forest and the crystal clear waters of the ocean, also the stunning views while paragliding and the excellent boat journey we had along the 12 islands...We will be back soon

We ejoyed the hospitality of our host, the friendly Pasha, beautiful walks in the forrest and along the Lycian way, the cristal clear waters and the snorkelling, the boat trip along the 12 islands, the archaeological site of Xanthos, Letoon, Tlos and Kadianda, the gorge of Saklikent and the long beach of Patara..Not enough time to do more...as they are plenty.. The tranquility of Mandarin, the delicious food and the wine was a delight.Large suites with the big sea facing balconies where we sit and watch the sunset was fantastic...WE WILL BE BACK

We stayed at the Villa MANDARIN (situated in the hamlet of Faralya, away from the busy resorts but close to the popular Ölüdeniz lagoon) for 3 nights last May and I wish it had been 3 weeks !! We LOVED it !! It was wonderful ! MANDARIN boutique hotel is the nicest and most unique hotel we have ever seen or experienced. Everything was fabulous : from the magic, luxurious and spacious rooms (nice hand-carved furniture with some traditional Turkish touches, private jacuzzi, large balcony with sea views offering a very intimate and romantic atmosphere) to the excellent five course evening meals based on traditional Turkish recipes. An unforgettable time, topped with great quality of service & friendliness (very attentive staff, including Pacha the "funny" dog !). Besides from the hotel we could hear the sounds of the village life and it felt like at home. A small, sumptuous and charming hotel I would recommend to anyone visiting Turkey.

During our marvelous travel in Turkey, we had 3 days spare and a travel agent recommended us to relax at the Mandarin Hotel in Faralya. After a comfortable road - except for the last few kilometers which were tiny and curvy - we finally arrived at destination ! Woaw... only for the view it was worth going. We were welcome by the Manageress who offered us the welcome tea and cakes even before we were led to our room. Even the "standard" rooms are worth palace suites : spacious, luminous, luxury decoration and furniture, hi-tech devices and the jacuzzi with view. This was above all expectations. The hotel being remote from all city activities, quietness was surely an extra mark. Service and food were proposed by the locals and we enjoyed very much their kindness as well as the quality of the food and the local meals which we hardly discovered at other locations. Unfortunately, as the weather was not so warm yet, we could not enjoy the pool and outside jacuzzi.

Arriving at the hotel you are greeted by the manageress’ pet dog ‘Pasha’. They called him a puppy as he was only 2.5 yrs old but to be frank he is quite a ‘large’ puppy. Be aware of your first introduction to Pasha as he gets extremely excited and has no limits due to lack of training and exercise. Expect to have scratches on your vehicle (if you are inside and he leaps up to poke his head through the open window on your side), paw marks all over your trousers and good old saliva drops on your toes. Must say he is a very ‘friendly’ dog. First impression of the hotel gives you an awkward feeling that you are going to spend the weekend over at your in-law’s villa - until you are shown the way to your room. The rooms are absolutely stunning. Well thought and designed, clean as it could get. Quiet with an air con that cools the hot room thoroughly. It was weird not to have a telephone in the room when you had a DVD player with a flat screen TV hooked up to the wall, but the receptions on mobile phones were absolutely fine. You may also find it ironic that you are provided with quarter filled 500ml used shampoo bottles with bath towels made from ‘organic’ fabric hanging along its side. For the hotel, little things don’t matter we presumed. The hotel is run by the manageress and her team of nearby villager maids. The maids were extremely respectful and kind. They do all the home cooking, cleaning and serving. They reflect all the kindness and care of the villagers and have the best manners ever. The food is traditional, served with a modern presentation. However, the menu is fixed and every guest will eat whatever the chef has cooked that day. It is a shame that they cannot provide you with an option to have a vegetarian main course at the least. If you’re vegetarian and cannot eat the main course there’s nothing to worry about because the wide selection of Turkish mezze’s and bread they serve up front is more than enough to fill you up. You will find a very rich selection of wine and other soft or alcoholic drinks too. The manageress sits along with the guests, sunbathes, and eats meals just like you do as if you are taking a vacation all together. Minor problem is that she does like to keep you talking and occasionally tells you stories about other guests that had stayed at the hotel previously, makes you wonder what she would be saying about you after your departure. The pool is relatively small and you cannot use it unless you like swimming in dog hair. Unfortunately, the pool does have a thick layer of Pasha’s hair floating on it and he also likes to use it as his water pot to drink from. They serve complimentary cakes and tea, which they kindly bring to your room without you even asking for it. Due the fact they have no ‘do not disturb’ signs, your door will be knocked in the middle of your midday nap until you answer to collect the tray. We were devastated to realize that we were served two pieces of cake with moving tiny little maggots in it! What was worse is that we actually ate three quarters of it by the time we noticed. We were told that they gave us pieces left outside rather than pieces from the fridge and that this was the main cause. After a couple of other rude incidences and no intentions of maintaining customer satisfaction, we demanded our remaining two days worth of money back and left. It was hurtful to witness such a greatly designed and well presented hotel being managed so poorly. But remember, Faralya is a place to see and experience with its delightful views and hostile villagers. Just be cautious of where you stay and that your money is worth the stay. Overall, must say that the bad experience turned out to be the best thing ever as we discovered a PARADISE on earth in Bordubet (one of Marmaris’ villages) and had the privilege to stay there, which we cannot mention here but will definitely write about it in a different review, so watch this space!

fantastic location stunning view and superb sized rooms, big balconies with chairs and seaviews, large 4 poster super kingsize bed,Jacuzzi in each room, very large bathrooms with 2 showers, his & hers, dvd,lcd tv,airocn and minibar. The food prepare from organic product was delicious real turkish cuisine and plenty. The outdoor pool with a separate Jacuzzi, in a very peacful surrounding. No kids policy gives the peace and quiet you need while you are on holiday. We enjoyed paragliding from 1970m down to Oludeniz beach, and the shopping in Fethiye was great fun and good values..The archaeological site we visit, caunos by the Dalyan river,Tlos,Xanthos and Letoon, the gorge of Saklikent and the long sandy beach of 14km of Patara was some of the most interesting trip without forgetting the 12 islands boat trip down to Gocek..Definitely will go back again and again..
