My wife and I stayed on a Thursday evening in an executive room (Room only). The Hotel is on the quayside, our room was a very large one at the back of the hotel but had two windows, the side window gets a view of the tyne - just. The room was unbelievable. Two wall mounted plasma tvs with dvd players. Huge bed and I mean vastly bigger than a king size. Living area with couch, mini bar, hairdryer, iron, trouser press, nice bathroom with bath/shower. Proper blackout curtains. Very clean. The hotel decor might not be to everyones taste, very dark purply corridoors but overall excellent.

Everything seemed to be nice and well situated however the water in the room was varying shades of hot followed by cold. Therefore shower time was as quick as I could make it. Other than that worth a visit

Enjoyable staySuperb view of river from third floor room. Friendly, helpful staff in all areas of hotel. Dinner on first night was first rate - prompt service. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, room ok but nothing special. Great bed and power shower though. Very dark in all public areas and was in need of decorating. There were hotels on the quayside that were cheaper and would try them first over this one mainly because of the price but if you have the money to spend then not a bad choice at all.

Lifts to all floors - but a bit of a waitA refreshing change from the usual chain hotels...and on balance, I really liked this place. Clean, large room. Food was all excellent (though the buffet breakfast was a bit pricey). Always room for improvement though - during my stay, only one of the two lifts was working, which creates problems in a seven-floor hotel. Also, I thought it was a bit strange that the bedrooms were so huge, but the bathrooms a bit pokey. Great overall though.

From Now On, This Place is Certainly My Home In Newcastle !My arrival into Newcastle Airport was before 9am and half an hour later I arrived at Malmaison on Quayside. On the way in the taxi, I said to myself; surely check in shall not be possible until mid day at the earliest however, happily I was wrong. My room was compact, very comfortable and had everything I needed except for a safety deposit box. Perhaps the television screen was also a little small as well. The shampoo, soap, tea & coffee were simply luxurious items and well worth taking the left overs away when I checked out...lol Nice trendy bar and an altogether fab experience that I shall certainly repeat on my next visit to this vibrant, crazy City. Also, it is worth reporting that the front desk staff who accomodated me during check in and out were an absolute credit to this fine establishment.

Late deal for Malmaison NewcastleI booked the day before for my 1 night stay at Malmaison Newcastle and I was delighted with the discount I got on my room. I went expecting to have a reasonable but run of the mill room but it far exceeded my expectations. I had a fantastic large room with TV and sofa and a lovely view of the Tyne. I was also delighted to be given a free glass of wine at the bar. The staff at reception were extremely friendly and helpful and all in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent - the desserts are extremely generous! I also loved the variety for breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel

special long weekend awayI'd rung and requested the nicest room available for a special weekend away with my boyfriend. They delivered- a modest sized room with great views of the millenium bridge. The staff were friendly, efficient and polite. I ordered a bottle of champagne for our room on the first night and it was excellent. We didn't leave the room until the afternoon of the first day, and it was even cleaned for us during our absence. Toiletries and tea/coffee good quality (but no hot chocolate or biscuits!)The door keys kept losing their memory and we needed to get them reprogrammed daily. The staff were very apologetic about it. The air conditioning in our room seemed to be broken, and someone was due to come and fix it but they didn't arrive. Luckily the weather got a bit cooler and it was bearable.Shame we had to pay for parking; but it was a good system (and cheaper than parking elsewhere); Carpark just across the road at the rear of the hotel. (Glad it didnt rain!) Malmaison had reserved spaces on the top level of the carpark, which had a lift.I would recommend it, and stay again... but first I'll have to save up!

excellent experience that must be repeated!!fantastic location for nightlife, wonderful staff, very helpful, decor in our room and around the hotel was very unique but at the same time inviting. Fabulous bar area with amazing cocktail/drinks range comfortable room ameneties sofa, bathroom and closet space was outstanding. If it's value for money, location and comfort you are looking for in my opinion it's Malmaison all the way.

PretentiousWhat a disaster. Slow check-in. Very slow service during breakfast and very over priced. Even slower check-out. Only saving grace is the location.

one night stay for disabled visitorthe hotels disabled facilities were great and staff were very helpful. The disabled parking was behind the hotel in a car park, on a higher level than the disabled exit, so lucky that one of us was able to get the car and then pick up at front of hotel. We also had to pay for the parking even though blue badge, which was annoying.Would definately stay again.

The hotel was very comfortable and the decor modern and interesting, however, I felt the cost of the room was too high especially as this did not include breakfast.

The accommodation was fine. Room very spacious. Huge comfortable bed. Overall impression of hotel was that it was much too dark. Got a bit oppressive after a while. Only ate breakfast and that was very average. One cooked breakfast was dreadful - cold eggs, inedible bacon. It was however knocked off bill when we complained.Service was good on reception and polite but very slow in the dining room.Location of hotel on quayside was great.Would stay again but only if price was right!

Everything about the hotel is excellent including the location beside the Millenium Bridge. My only dislike is the decor which is very dark, with a lot of purple. I would also ad that the facial I had in the spa is one of the best I've ever had.

gets worsei find it very hard to understand why this hotel charges £140pn and its now a 3* quality has got worse and customer service is poor, you can spend ages in the bar waiting for a drink and if you get nr closing time in the restaurant they dont seem to want your booking. far better hotels up the road, and in town that want your money
