nice hotel but not the bestas a regular user of hotels, i was looking forward to staying here, but ultimately was not impressed. firstly, got stung for £15 for overnight hotel parking. then whilst having dinner in the restaurant, waitress spilt bowl of chips over me, but didnt clean them up off the floor around me. when i mentioned it to the manager, he said dont worry about it- i wasnt! . food was good though if a bit pricey. next morning, reception staff not friendly or polite.

Our 3 night stay at Malmaison Liverpool was convenient, comfortable and very enjoyable. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful, our room was clean and excellent value and the breakfasting restaurant staff catered each morning for a previously stated dietary requirement without any fuss. A very minor criticism is that in the cocktail bar the area where drinks are prepared is separated by semi opaque glass walls and sliding doors from the seating area. This appears to make it difficult for serving staff to keep track of the order in which people arrive and expect to be served.

girly breakmy daughter chose to stay at the malmaison and what a good choicethe blonde female receptionist was rather snotty over the fact we had arrived to early so we left our bags in the reception area and returned later, the young guy that checked us in was so much nicer - he was chatty and helpful (recommended a local indian etc) he gave us a riverview room too, the room was lovely with a huge comfy bed, the tv however was a bit small ! the bathroom contained a huge bath and a walk in slate shower .. luxury. we will definately return to the malmaison again . one last thing .. we used the pay n display rather than the NCP carpark and saved £5

Modern Day CurseThe Malmaison seems yet another hotel that has fallen victim to the modern curse of staying in big 'named' hotels at weekends - herds of intoxicated women noisily making their way back to rooms in the small hours. Twice I had to get out of bed & ask the formentioned to keep their noise down. This is happening everytime I stay in hotels of late. Does it take that much common sense to realize your feet away from other guests beds when in hotel corridors? Also, sensing this might be a problem, I requested a very quite room when booking so bewildered as to why the Malmaison placed me right by the lifts & facing a main road. The walk in shower didn't drain adequately resulting in overflow into the bathroom on two of my three nights there. Dinner was a disaster too with my returning my seafood based choice after the third mouthful of grit. The manager offered compensation which proved to be a slab of very greasy tuna on a bed of cold salad which I also returned. All this was related to reception when I checked out & was aksed 'was everything OK. Also left my experience on a provided comment card & have had no response to this.

Naughty but niceLovely hotel and located quite well and easy access to most places. Limited eateries around and one either eat in hotels or travel by taxi to the city centre.I would only book via late rooms as that is the best source of value for money.Excellent and enjoyable stay. Wish the overnight parking was not so steep!!!

Malmaison Liverpool reviewMalmaison never fail to impress and be different. We have also stayed at the one in Manchester. Staff are always really friendly and helpful. Dean on reception was a particular star.Decor is different and very classy, quality everywhere. Luxury bed.Breakfast in bed at no extra cost and left outside your door (you don't get disturbed.) Great relaxed atmosphere, the noon checkout time is civalised (compared tp 11 in some hotels) and we took advantage of booking for lunch and this extends the checkout time to 3 p.m. Only downsides are that, at £120, they are not cheap even when booked through Laterooms. You can usually get deals if you stay more than one night. For example if we had stayed in Liverpool an extra night it would only have been another £50. Food takes the mickey a bit with very basic fish and chips and "Malburgers" on the pricey side but, having said that, probably the best fish and chips you'll ever taste, but at £13.50 you want something special.Hotel is fairly well and pleasantly located near to Albert Dock and Liverpool 1 only 15 minutes walk away.

Trendy luxuryOur room was on the 4th floor with full height side window view and smaller front view of the docks. The views were nothing special but nice to have such a huge window. The room was quite small and the sofa damaged and a bit grubby. It is such a shame for top end hotel they dont provide biscuits with the tea/coffee facility and that you have to pay extra for the shampoo etc. The wet room however, was fantastic fantastic! I have stayed at the Malmaison in Newcastle which has better views and lounge area.

Liverpool Malmaison not up to group standardI have had a very satisfactory stay at the the Oxford Malmaison and was therefore disappointed by my stay at the Liverpool hotel. Room issues: bathroom smelt of drains and some tap fittings were worryingly loose; desk lamp and wired internet access did not work.Room service: out-of-date menu in room; on two evenings waited nearly an hour for food.Dining room: breakfast service badly understaffed (other guests were complaining). After waiting, taken to table still awaiting cleaning by waiter with food-spattered black jacket; very long wait for tea/toast; two mornings running no plates in buffet section and delay in getting them.

Amazing.Me and my boyfriend stayed here for his 25th Birthday. When we arrived we waited for about 3 minutes to check in and were instantly apologised to for the wait. We were given a room on the 5th floor and it was amazing. The pillows were so deep and comfy. The bed was firm and I slept on it fine but my boyfriend is a very fussy sleeper and didn't like it so much. The bathroom was amazing. The bath was huge and the wet room was amazing. The towels for the room were massive and soft! The only tiny quibiles we could have was there a slight stain on the carpet and the room service was pretty pricey but the hotel is luxury so we should of expected it.Can't wait to stay there again.

Malmaison Liverpool ReviewWe have stayed at the Malmaison before and have experienced the luxury rooms before a couple of years ago. The Malmasion Liverpool was a nice experience, however it could do with a face lift as the dark mysterious feel is a bit old hat and have stayed in better mainstream hotels which have been cheaper. I did contact the hotel prior to arrival via email with a request for a birthday arrangements and they failed to come back to me. So overall nothing flash just a nice hotel.

Birthday TreatHotel is very sleek, bedrooms beautifully decorated with sexy bathrooms. TV reception should be better. In general it is a \"Get as much money out of guests\" hotel with breakfasts extra, parking at £15.00 a night, service charge in the restaurant automatically added, expensive wine and expensive drinks in the bar. Reception staff very friendly and restaurant staff excellent.

Liverpool 21/06/2009The decor was all a bit too dark. The windows were sealed and the room was a little claustraphobic as you could not open a window and let fresh air into the room. A lot of food trays were left in the stairways and cleaning equipment and you could see the mouse traps in the stairways.

The MalThe Malmaison is a great location for seacat/boat travellers from the Isle of Man who are looking for a convenient location and have the budget to spoil themselves a bit. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, rooms modern and stylish and the bar and restaurant a nice place to spend time with spouse/partner or friends.

Excellent stay - but for the location and view of the car parkExcellent hotel. I had 160 hotel room nights in the last year, and this was easily top 20%, probably top 10%. Rated 3* officially, it deserves a European 4*. Room spectacular, huge bath (but no bubble bath), massive open-plan shower, free wired internet. Downside: location is a bit out of the way, but it's not too bad - could walk back from a night on the town. And laterooms by default gives you a no-view room - ensure you pay extra for the view if you're not a multi-storey spotter.

Malmaison LiverpoolLast minute booking for a business trip. Great central location but parking not great. There is a multi-storey next door, but you have to go in the hotel to get a ticket leaving car in loading bay. It is £15 to park (the full 24hour rate) and I was only there for 14 hours. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Food was disappointingHaving read recenty several wonderful reviews ref the restaurant found the main course of sea bass and fennel and orange salad wonderful. But fries were disappointing and cold, and the pudding which was discribed as rasberryand pach trifle confused and left this after a few spoonfuls, reminded me of childrens party food and not up to the delicate standard of the main course. Coffee was also sent back and replaced for fresh coffee.Otherwise accomodation and friendliness of hotel in general lived up to usual standard. All staff friendly and accomodating. Always prefer this to other four and five star hotels in area.
