This was a great trip. We went to Wrigley Field to watch two games over the 4th of July holiday. The hotel is just a few blocks from Wrigley. We then took walks along Lakeshore Drive, one block away. The hotel was in a residential area of Chicago that was very quiet.

Very nice linens on the bed and nice towels. No fruit on the breakfast buffet. Excellent location, especially for a Cubs game, or for visiting Lincoln Park. Public transportation was convenient, as was the parking arrangement for my car ($22.00 per day). Desk attendant offered suggestions for restaurants and was generally helpful. I'd stay here again.

Read the other reviews and got exactly what I expected. This is a great "old" hotel within walking distance of Wrigley Field. Wife is a huge "Cubbies" fan and she loved the location. The spotless room is small by today?s standards, and the hotel is an older building with great charm. It was however, a great spot for our two-night stay. Staff is friendly and very helpful with ticket and meal information. Breakfast (bagels/muffins) was perfect for a day of sight seeing as we only wanted something light before stopping in for some deep-dish pizza. Easy rail/bus commute from O'Hare with a short walk. We were not looking for a romantic getaway, and needed a good room as a base for operations. It was very quiet a night, and the window unit cooled the room well. You will need to splurge for a larger room to lounge. The old fashioned elevator was amusing, but the stairs are faster. The building had it's own smell. Not a bad odor at all, but you knew you were not in a carbon copy chain hotel. I am a fan of old buildings with history and this one feels like it has plenty. If you are going to Chicago and want to feel like a local stay here and walk to Wrigley and smell the flowers along the way. If you need to shop downtown and be in the middle of it all, it is not for you. Be advised it is a very gay friendly area and if that is going to freak you out, then do not say you have not been told. I will stay here again and fully expect to enjoy it again. Ladies, my wife thought the hotel was great as well and enjoyed it. Hope this helps.

Attractive boutique hotel. Our check-in was smooth. We were offered cookies. Easy access to small but clean and attractive room. Staff was very helpful and rooms were quiet. Bedding was very comfortable and we would stay here again.

The reason we picked this hotel is because we were going to a Cub game at Wrigley Field. This hotel was within walking distance; it was very clean (especially the bathroom), charming cozy and the hotel staff could not have been better (very, very accomodating). We stayed in a double queen suite which included a sofa bed, microwave and refrigerator. This hotel offers a continental type breakfast in the a.m. which was another plus for us. The hotel location (Addison & Lake Shore Drive) is excellent if you plan on spending time in downtown Chicago, the museums, Wrigley Field, etc. If I had it to do over, I would pick The Majestic again. And, if you have a car, the parking garage is practically next to the hotel itself. I have read other reviews on this hotel and some people have said the parking garage is a 20 minute walk from the hotel. I found out from the hotel staff that if your vehicle is over 6ft in height you must park in the garage that is further away; otherwise, you can park right next door. I'd like to go back to Chicago again (for more Cubs games) and will stay here.

Very nice and quiet place. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They offered very good suggestions for dinner. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Bathroom was a decent size. Lobby is beautifully decorated and there is a fireplace.

I came to Chicago for a concert at the Aragon Ballroom, and decided to stay the night after the concert. The Majestic Hotel had good reviews and was quite close, so I chose it. I had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and even recommended locations for me to visit after the concert. I highly recommend the hotel. The parking was $22 a day, which while a bit steep, was very secure and close to the hotel. The location was beautiful and I never felt unsafe. The breakfast was great and a variety of food was offered. I missed the cookies that had in the afternoon, but my friends and I took advantage of the tea and oranges available at all hours in the lounge.

It had traditional charm. Parking was 3 blocks away. Problem if it was raining, cold or snowing. Looks like a favorite of Cubs fans. Easy walking distance to Wrigley Field. It is also a half block off Lake Shore Drive.

Within walking distance of Boys town! Kindof pricey! This hotel tries to be upscale, but it needs some serious decor renovations. There are much nicer and cheaper hotels in Chicago, but this one is all about location. To stay anywhere in this area at a cheaper rate you could really end up regretting it. Overall clean, basically comfortable, but old, kind of dark, and almost more reminiscent of a semi-nice bed and breakfast. I would classify it as a seen better days boutique.

The staff was incredibly nice - we got up early for a 7 AM flight and he made fresh coffee. Nice street too.

Good location and good choices on the continental breakfast. Elevator out of service. Older hotel in a good location, within 10-minute walk of Wrigley Field. Continental breakfast had many good choices, including several kinds of cold cereal and muffins.

The elevator didn't work due to updating. Our room was on the 3rd floor, my husband has health issues and this was a difficult climb for him each time we wanted to come or go. There were no other rooms available on the ground level.

It was cozy, friendly, and located near family. The room was very small. It was the best place for us to stay for the nearness to family. After we were there a day we got the hang of one-way streets, parking location, and directions.

This hotel felt like a small English hideaway, yet in a great location. The room was spotless, quiet and the continental breakfast was good. Coffee and tea available 24 hours and there was tea time from 4-6 pm.the hotel is located 1 block from Lake Shore Drive. We will stay there again on any return trips.

It was old, but very charming. Very nicely located for what we were in Chicago for.

The Majestic is a great place to stay if you are going to a game at Wrigley Field. It is a short walk to the field, but also very close to public transit, like the CTA and Redline. The hotel is on a quiet street and within walking distance of many fine eateries. I particularly enjoyed the free pass to Ballys where I took a Pilates class. The only downfall about the Majestic is the absence of a working elevator. After we upgraded our room to a sunroom suite, we had to carry our bags up two flights of stairs. Of course, they have a bellhop, but who wants to pay extra? The breakfast was good for being just a continental and the cookies in the afternoon were quite a treat. Everyone staying in the hotel gathered to share stories and exchange interesting facts.
