While it is ON the beach, upon arrival, the pool was filthy (until enough of us revolted and they cleaned the next day), balconies were dirty, had peeling paint. The room itself was ok. The wireless internet never worked. We added one day to our stay and were gouged on the price (nearly double for the next night since it was the 4th of July). Some of the staff were helpful, some not. It seemed to be former BestWestern on the downslide.....

Oceanfront Efficiency is the way to go! Excellent view, good balcony size and decent kitchenette. Excellent staff, Chelsie at the desk was very accommodating to all of our needs. I would definitely stay again. Pool was very clean and plenty of chairs and loungers for everyone.

We were moved to this hotel after the hotel room we originally booked was flooded from a clogged A/C unit and they had no other available rooms. The accomodoations were acceptable give that the room had a seperate kitchenette and bedroom with a living area. Ceramic tile floors in the living area and kitchen meant no grimy sand in the carpet which was nice. The worst thing about the room was the water pressure in both showers was almost non-existant. We bought some CLR and cleaned the shower heads ourselves which helped alot. The parking area is VERY small and very tight... our one month old brand new vehicle came home with a scratch on the right rear fender where someone backed out too closely and hit our vehicle... no less without telling us and the hotel claims no responsibility for such things. The beach is just steps away and the pool is clean.

The location of the Motel was fairly close to Daytona Beach & on the quieter side. The sand on the Beach was the softest I'd ever felt. The staff was very friendly, especially this one employee named [...].

Had a TINY room and no tub - not what I expected for what I paid. But everything worked, no bugs, comfy pillows, nice in room decor - not much to look at from the outside. Parking was AWFUL! Had to park in lot of abandoned hotel nex door. Did not have ocean view from room - had to go out onto balcony, but that was okay. Wasn't told of free breakfast - never even saw it - lobby was tiny, food was apparently somewhere else. stayor families where I stayed.

The access to the beach is really great and the beaches weren't very crowded. It was peaceful at night. However the charge 3.00 a day for parking even if you are staying there, and they charge a $10c a day fee for "incidentals." The staff was friendly and helpful. Its a nice hotel, but not very upscale. Decent value for the price.

Staff, service and location were great! Avoid spring break and race week fans by proper trip planning. Being a ""local boy"", I can say that alot of tourists arrive and believe that their demands must be catered to, this can result in a bad experience for the the ""good"" tourists. This hotel and staff is prepared for that and they did their job well! Would use this establishment again.

The room itself was ok. We booked an Ocean View room with a jacuzzi in it. The room was only Ocean View if you put your face up to the window and looked immediately to the left. When I went to call the front desk about that, the phone in the bedroom part of the room did not work. I then called from the living room phone and told them it's not ocean view and was told it was considered ocean view, even though your only view was of the hotel rooms across the way. That was pretty disappointing. But the Jacuzzi was very nice.

Best Western Mainsail was ok for the money ( inexpensive)..every room had nice view of beach and kitchenette was convienent. We only stayed one night on business so couldnt enjoy pool but for age of motel it was reasobaly maintained but rooms needed thourough cleaning in areas that most wouldnt notice or complain about...grout in bathroom ect.... We found a dirty handtowel from previous tenant on balcony and smell of smoke was prevalant on our non smokeing floor although that isnt always hotels fault. Nice neighborhood with Starbucks and restraunts nearby without hustle and bustle of Daytona Bch further soutn

"Ocean view rooms are bigger than the others and have plenty of space. Room was clean - looked recently renovated. Wireless internet, free breakfast (bagels/muffins/cereal/etc). Not crowded at all. The air conditioner was very noisy, and the tap water was a tad brownish, but those are my only complaints. Much nicer than I expected given the price."

"Room was small, but CLEAN! Kids loved it because the pool and beach area weren't crowded (small motel). Located far enough away from main part of Daytona, so it was not congested. We arrived early, and our room was ready shortly after. Would definitely stay again!"
