great for a city breakThe Maids Head is a large but friendly hotel, beatifully decorated and each room is unique. The service and cleanliness of the room was faultless, and the location was brilliant - right opposite the beautiful cathedral and close to restaurants and shops. Our breakfast was included which was a great selection to set you up for the day except for being very busy on Sunday morning! Definately will book there again when I'm next in Norwich.

Stayed one night at the Maids Head Hotel - would recommend. Stayed with a few guys going to watch Simple Minds at Blickling Hall. Nice and central in Norwich for a few beers before and after. A good selection of people staying at the hotel and I would feel it would be suitable for most people wanting a central stay in Norwich.

Maids Head HotelVery nice hotel, cosy and comfortable. Rooms are rather small and bathroom has a rather quant low ceiling and terrible view out of the window in the rooms we have stayed in. Breakfast was included in the price which was quite good value, however the food served wasn’t very appetising. Overall, very beautiful hotel and in good walking distance from clubs on prince of wales road.

A return visit will be happeningA very enjoyable stay indeed. The only criticism (if you could call it that) was that it was hard to differentiate between staff and guests. Plenty to see and do in Norwich and hotel very central and near to hotels and bars. We will be returning for another visit, however we will book it through laterooms.com for a better deal.

Top floor, standard accommodation.Fair for the price BUT window on security lock (stop jumpers ?) so could only open a couple of inches and weather was really hot AND TV not tuned in properly - unable to tune manually and Reception unable/unwilling to send anybody to correct the problem

Great locationVery helpful staff. Room facilities very good, but room fairly small and very hot at top of hotel, on a really hot weekend. Location excellent and lovely views of city. Parking facilities excellent. Breakfast lovely, although a little crowded. Will stay again, especially on a Laterroms deal.

The only downside was the lack of drawers in the room. Other than that I was very satisfied with the hotel.

Good qualityThe hotel was of a good standard and centrally located for our needs I would definitely go again. The only down side is possible lack of parking but once our car was parked we did not use it again.

Superb roomWe were given an upgrade to the Surlingham suite, which is a superb \"olde worlde\"room with ancient oak beams and exposed rafters (no ceiling), a spacious room with enormous bathroom. The historic hotel is situated adjacent to the cathedral in a wonderful position near the centre of one of the best cities in Europe.

DisabledLovely hotel with excellent food. Unfortunately for the disabled there are rather a lot of unavoidable stairs as the hotel is on different levels.

The hotel is old and rambling but the signage is not clear when trying to find the reception from the car park. The room too was difficult to find as i walked past the signage twice. Once in the room i was pleasently suprised with the size and quality. My room faced the road and during the early hours the noise from people returning from a evening drinking was at times too loud. The restuarant was busy due to a coach full of elderly travellers, this slowed the waitress service down, even though there were at least 5 working. The food when it arrived was top notch and was well worth the wait. I had my breakfast in my room as i did not want to wait 50 minutes for it like i had done with dinner. All in all a great hotel, lots of character and great value for money.

Great Location makes up for tired accomodationSuper location right in the heart of Norwich, opposite the Cathedral. Rooms are not aircon - stuffy in Summer. Inner rooms suffer from smells from the kitchen. I asked to be moved and was given a different room, smell was much reduced but still noticeable. Carpets did not look properly vacuumed. Biggest concern, lack of water for a shower in the morning - hot dribbled out but cold was non existent. Plumbing needs overhaul. Iw ent to my meeting not as showered as I would like due to lack of water buton return to hotel, shower was great at 11.30am - so it is a demand issue.
