Welcome to Teep's 'Mai Pen Rai' Bungalows. 'Mai Pen Rai' Bungalows is one of the oldest resorts in Koh Phangan, founded by Teep about 20 years ago. 'Mai Pen Rai' is situated in a tropical paradise infringed with swaying palms and green turquoise waters. 'Mai Pen Rai' which means 'no problem' is as the name implies - the restaurant is easy going with funky and artistic decoration, the ambiance is chilled out and unpretentious. This corner of Than Sadet has a unique, simple rustic feeling, that of the old Koh Phangan and is surrounded by wild jungle behind and a coast line of rugged wildness - ideal for treks and boat trips to the neighbouring beaches on the East coast of Ko Pha-ngan. The atmosphere in Thansadet is still simple, rustic, and slightly bohemian, with the emphasis on keeping in touch with the roots of nature around. This can be felt whether sitting in the restaurant, enjoying one’s meal, while a Bharan meanders past in the river, or sitting on the verandah of one’s bungalow where every effort has been made to incorporate the beauty of the surrounding natural features into the design of the rooms. At the side of the restaurant is a new childrens play area, with 2 small childrens swimming pools, and plenty of toys to keep the children happy. A full sized trampoline also awaits the children for playfilled hours.

Mai Pen Rai offers a large variety of bungalows to travelers on different budgets, with a choice of 40 bungalows on the beach, on the river, and on the rocks. Each bungalow is totally different, not one being the same. All the cabins are artistically and thoughtfully designed to harmoniously blend in with the beautiful surroundings, incorporating the large granite boulders into the design of the bungalows.

This is truly a paradise where nature lovers and artists from all walks of life can come together, and enjoy the peace and serenity of this unique corner of the world. Here one is able to unwind and recharge ones spirit in the seclusion and tranquility of this very special haven. Due to the fast development of Koh Phangan, this really is a one of a kind place where the pace of life is still as it should be, and the feeling of the ‘old Koh Phangan’ is still present in the atmosphere and feeling of this beach.

Bungalows on the Beach and on the Rocks have been recently renovated to give more space, and an even more special feel, with the emphasis on maintaining the natural feel of Than Sadet and using natural and raw materials in the building of these rooms, incorporating some of the surrounding natural features into the design of the rooms. The new layout of the bathroom has a rustic but modern and clean design, using slates, stones and pebbles for the flooring and the walls, The rooms are bigger and more spacious and have been designed with the traveling spirit in mind for comfort, space and relaxation.

Thansadet beach is well known for its river and waterfall which meander down the mountain side through the dense jungle. For more than a century many Thai Kings have visited this magical place and carved their names upon the immense rocks that grace this river.
Than Sadet, based within the National Park has wonderful jungle treks. From here one is able to follow various footpaths and walk to the neighboring beaches. The river and waterfall once visited by their Majesties V, VII and IX provide beautiful tranquil spots to relax.

Gigantic boulders grace the path of the Sadet river, many of which hold carvings of the various Kings initials marking their historic visits. The river falls down the steep mountainside to meet with the sea beside 'Mai Pen Rai' restaurant. Bharan lizards growing to huge sizes can be seen swimming and feeding here.

Than Sadet Beach is situated on the East Coast of Koh Phangan, south of Thong Naipan beach. It is ideally situated for boat trips out to Angthong National Marine Park, which are offered on a weekly basis, and also boat trips to Koh Maa, and Mae Had for snorkeling on the coral reef.

Elephant trekking can be organized from here too.
