This is a wonderful centrally located hotel! Our (111) room was large, clean and well furnished. In the hieght of the summer it may get hot as there is no air conditioning. The room, being at the front of the hotel was a bit noisy due to late night party goers in the street outside but that is hardly the hotels fault. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and good service. We would have no hesitation in staying here again and therefore highly recommend it. Make sure you download the map on how to get to the hotel, particularly if arriving by car!

Excellent city centre hotelThis hotel was in an excellent location for a weekend stay in Chester, positioned just off the main shopping street - the only disadvanage being that it was a little noisy outside. The staff were friendly and really helpful and the room was lovely. Only complaint is that the room and hotel in general were incredibly hot and with no air conditioning, there was limited opportunity to cool it down. Despite this, I would definately stay again.

Great location, great room & great breakfast!the location of this hotel is great, just off the main pedestrianised shopping area and close to bars & restaraunts. The only thing about the hotel room was that it was very warm, no air conditioning, but with the windows open it wasnt much of a problem.

New Blossoms - ChesterThe hotel location is excellent for those wishing to walk into Chester for a social drink, and a meal. The arrangement with the Pepper Street NCP car park works well. Instead of paying over 15 pounds, had we been normal visitors, we paid a total of £ 7.50 for nearly 36 hours of parking - great. Accomodation was very tidy, if a little bit dated, and even though we overlooked the High Street, noise was notan issue. The room was very warm, but a fan was provided to keep sleeptime comfy ( it was a very hot day ) Breakfast time was busy, but service great and food hearty. Overall a well above average stay. Would recommend.

Poor FoodThe hotel was fantasic and we even had a free upgrade as it was booked by our daughters for our wedding anniversary. The staff were exceptional and the room overlooking the main high street with all the hustle and bustle-it made us feel like we were in a period drama! We ate in the Chester Grille as the restaurant manager emailed me prior to my visit to the hotel to suggest that we should book a table as they we based in the hotel. I have to say the standard of the food was poor and not what I would expect for the class of hotel-unfortunately it really let the hotel down. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was tiny and the batter was soggy. I did complain and they promptly bought me two pieces of fish out-which were both soggy!! The desert was also inedible -Lemon curd trifle-the jelly was hard and like rubber and the sponge was also hard and I think might have been a little old! I really want to stress that the hotel was fantastic and perfect for our special celebration but the Chester Grille really tainted our stay, not sure if we shall recommend or return.

Blossoms Hotel, Chester - review The hotel's first impressions were good and we had prompt service when booking in - all well and good. However, the room we were assigned (Room 104) smelt when we entered (the window had been left open by the maid). There looked like mascara marks on the pillow that had not been removed when washed. We went down to the hotel bar for a drink and were told by the 3 attendants in the residents bar to go into the main restaurant where we could get a drink. We went to the hotel restaurant bar where there was no one in attendance - not one of the 3 ladies in the residents bar came to see we had been served. We waited for around 5 minutes and then decided to go to the pub next door. The following morning we went into breakfast. We ordered tea and toast and were directed to a table. We waited and waited. The couple next to us arrived 5 minutes later and were served promptly. In the end we had to ask 3 times to get our tea and toast. The jam pot on the table had already been opened and used so had obviously not been checked when the table was prepared. The icing on the cake was a long hair in my wifes scrambled eggs.

superb value for money in the very heart of chester shopping !Absolute superb value for money, we were going to stay at the Chester Grosvenor but my partner thought it was overpriced and we both agreed to see what else we could get on a budget. We paid £82.50 for 2 peolpe bed and breakfast mid week, it was an absolute bargain ! The hotel is a 10 second walk from the Grosvenor and shops. The reception staff were utterly charming and welcoming, the hotel had room was slightly small and the bathroom was nigh near non existent but it all worked and the bed linen was beautiful. Breakfast was served in the non formal Grille restaurant, it was fantastic, continental plus hot choice, we had wholemeal toast with poached eggs and they were perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for shoppers and tourist as it is right in the heart of Chesters busy main street. Enjoy, we did !

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel, but our dining experience at the Grille was not up to our expectation. We thought the main course was a bit too little serving for dinner but we had a good breakfast nevertheless. We would certainly stay again and reccommend the hotel to our friends. The hotel location was just right for us.

Golden Wedding aniversaryI think they gave us the wrong room. It was small and pokey and looked out onto the airconditioning system covered with nets. We complained and was told there was nothing else. We said we did not want to stay a second night and was told "no problem". The dinning room has been "modenised" which means: no carpets, tables painted black (flaking), sauce and mustard bottles on the tables.Fifty years ago it was such a lovely hotel..... now its just horrid.

Blossoms Hotel - ChesterThe room was great, very large as it was a disabled room. Shower was terrible, no hot water and hardly any pressure. Cleanlliness was fine, good standard of finish to the room. Although you could hear every step from the room above and every creaky floor board!!!

Pleasant StayThe hotel was nice and staff were very helpful. The room was rather warm and you could not open the window. There was a fair bit of noise outside as there is a nightclub across the road.

Overall experience with the HotelThe welcome of the hotel was excellent! If driving to the hotel for the first time was a bit of a nightmare it was down a one way street and the only way to get to it is to go round the outskirts of chester unless you park up and walk there. The hotel was lovely and our room was worth it, looking onto the main street of chester and very spacious, the food was 10/10 and well worth the money you pay.The only thing that does let this 4 star hotel down is the restaurant service, we waited 10 minutes until they found us a seat and gave a menu to look at, then when seated we waited another 10-15 minutes with another menu until they took the order, we asked for a desert menu which came 15-20 minutes later. At breakfast they asked if wanted toast, and we did but throughout breakfast no toast came but they brought butter over?! No top up with coffee, that was barely warm, advertised food on the menu for the \"Grille\" Fry up some were missing both mornings! I think that should be appointed to the hotel to improve the service in the restaurant.

We stayed for 1 night, the hotel is right in the centre of the city so close to shops. However, we stayed on the bank holiday weekend and was woken in the night by shouting and screaming from people on a night out they use the road as a cut through to the bars in the city. and there are also a couple of bars/clubs on the same road. The accomodation was really nice.

A good quality centrally located hotel We enjoyed our stay at this very clean and centrally located hotel. The reception staff were helpful and helped us with where to park the car and offered details of the restaurant and bar areas etc. We already had plans for an evening meal with friends elsewhere but we did have breakfast in the hotel. The menu was extensive and the staff very helpful.

Lovely Hotel - just a couple of snags.Lovely hotel, well looked after and extremely well situated to explore Chester.Hit a couple of snags though:1 - the room was quite hot, so we slept with window open only to be woken by the noise of the nightclub revellers leaving between 1.20 and 2.30am - the nightclub is across the road and down by between 50 and 100yards - a point not mentioned in any of the accomodation info on Laterooms or Macdonald websites2 - breakfast order was taken at 10am, at 10.30 we were asked 'oh, have you not had your breakfast yet', at 10.45am our breakfast arrived - not great when the restaurant wasn't particularly full (approx 4 other tables all arriving after us, but being served before).Like I say this is a lovely hotel, perfectly situated, but let down by a couple of avoidable issues. I have written directly to the customer services department at Macdonald Hotels with regards to these.
