it was a nice hotel, good size room, nice bathroom. I thought the location was a little out of the way for the Royal Mile...had to walk up hill to get anywhere and not much to do right around the hotel. There was only basic tv and no moveis or internet.

Well-priced, good-quality hotel beside Holyrood and the Parliament buildings.

The hotel was okay, nothing remarkable. Our hotel room had a huge stain on the carpeting, wallpaper was peeling and it was dusty. We had no view and were right next to the elevator. Very strange sockets in the room that would not fit our converter and had to get help in finding a socket for the hairdryer, the person who came to assist finally found it in the drawer of the desk. Bad internet connections in the room as well. Next visit will be more in the city centre, which will be closer to activities and restaurants. Staff were friendly.

We just returned from six nights at the MacDonald Holyrood Hotel. We had a great room with a view of Arthur's Seat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I hope some day we are able to return to Edinburgh, and we would not think of staying anywhere else.
