At the edge of the 5th and 6th centuries Kyiv was founded by three brothers Kyi, Scheck, Horiv and their sister Lybid. The city was named after the eldest brother Kyi. Our hotel took the name of the beautiful Lybid. For the present, it is one of the best 3-star hotels in Kiev. Lybid hotel opened its doors in downtown Kyiv in 1970 and was completely renovated in 1998-2002. GOLDEN GATE (1.5km): The Golden Gate of Kiev is a historic gateway in the ancient city walls of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The name Zoloti Vorota is also used for a nearby theatre and a station of the Kiev Metro. This gateway was one of three constructed by Yaroslav the Wise, Prince of Kiev, in the mid-eleventh century. It was reputedly modelled on the Golden Gate of Constantinople, from which it took its name.
