This hotel is very nicely located close to the main cultural attractions and close to the shops and the typical restaurants. The hotel is made up of 2 buildings only a few metres apart from each other. CQ 05/08 Typical Venetian building in keeping with the surroundings. Located in the heart of Venice a few metres away from the boat stop San Zaccaria, and few metres away from San Marco Square.

The breakfast room is small in size but comfortable, decorated in Venetian style with mirrors on the walls alternating with wooden panels. A few small glass chandeliers contribute to the room?s decoration and to creating an intimate atmosphere.

Up a quiet side walk-way with shops with no traffic. Walk one block to main square.Rooms and bathroom clean.Did not allow us to check in early and you have to carry your own luggage up a minimum of 2 floors[no bellboy or elevators].

This hotel is in a excellent location, there are alot of stairs to climb so if you mobility problems this could be a issue. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. I would definitely use this hotel again.

The Lux Hotel was a comfortable, basic hotel which was very close to the San Zacharia vaporetto stop and San Marco Square. There is no elevator so be prepared to puff your way up the narrow stairs before you can cool off in your air conditioned room. Air conditioning worked well but be sure to shut the windows after the maid visits or it will not turn on. The bathroom was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable but the extra cot for my son was not. He could feel the bar dig into his back all night. The hotel offers a basic breakfast (croissants, coffee, yogurt, etc. but no fruit, meats, or cheeses). The hotel offered a free one way trip to Murano by water taxi. I would stay again if in Venice but the cost was double what I paid for a similar room in Florence.

The location was great. There were NO elevators. The bathroom sink was broken. We had to catch a water taxi before 7am and the front desk staff kindly packed criossants and yogurt for us which we appreciated. Would not recommend this place or stay ther in the future.

Too many stairs, beginning with the front door steep steps to the lobby. No lift, difficult to get bags up to the room. The cot for the third person in the room was inadequate, narrow and the mattress sagged in the middle.

Very centrally location, just 2 minutes from St Marco square. The double room was comfy, the facilities were adequate. The standing bathtub was a bit small but Venetian building won't be able to accomodate a bigger bathtub anyway. The breakfast was situated on another building opposite the hotel.

Exellent location. Staff spoke English. Rooms are very small and no lift.

Great location (next to Plaza San Marco) but stairs had no lifts so had to carry suitcases up two floors. Breakfast was appalling!
