checking ini have given 3 for customer service because the receptionist on checking in was quite rude.the rest of the staff were great.she was adamant that we had booked 2 rooms and we assured her that was not the case.she raised her eyebrows in disbelief and said that we had definately booked 2 rooms and because we had not cancelled 1 of them then we would have to pay for 2.we assured her yet again that we had most definately only booked 1 room.(after all why would we need 2 rooms?)she said that she would look into it and ring our room with the outcome.this put the dampers on the start of what should have been a lovely stay.we went to our room and waited for 30 minutes or more before ringing laterooms ourselves who confirmed that our booking was for 1 room.we then went back to the receptionist who said that there had been a mix up in the emails from laterooms and that because the lowry had received an email on the saturday and then another on the tuesday (apparently our surname was not spelt correctly on the first email )they mistook it for another booking.but when would she have rang us to tell us of their mistake?she had clearly realized the mistake far sooner than we had rang laterooms ourselves but had not bothered to tell us.

The room was very large and bright, however, the air conditioning was very poor making the room quite uncomfortably hot and the view was terrible overlooking wasteland. We were also disappointed at the lack of facilities, ie tea/coffee, iron, etc., and the positioning of plugs and mirrors. We paid a fraction of the room rate, although it was still not cheap, and we believe we can find much better value for money elsewhere.

great stayWonderful hotel, service flawless and courteous. Very few things we didn't love. One was no tea making facilities in the room. These were described as complementary, but would have preferred to have ouor own facility. The high price of extras such as drinks and side dishes was prohibitive. The quality of the food and size of the luxurious bed made up for the above issues. We were a mixed group of self and husband in 50s and daughter and partner in 30s. These features were common to all ages.

5* TreatmentI always wondered how a hotel gets its 5 star rating, and having stayed at the Lowry, I begin to understand why. From the moment we checked in until checking out, nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff who anticipated our every need. Our river view room was chic, modern and oozed luxury, from the 32" flat screen TV to the JBL i-pod dock to the bathrobes, toiletries and the enormous super king sized bed. Having been out for the evening, we returned to our room to find towels back on the heated towel rail, the bed turned down and a bottle of water and glass at each bedside. We slept soundly, putting that down to the 'not too soft yet not too hard' mattress and soft cotton bedding. Breakfast was a banquet, and the attention to detail continued when, having visited the breakfast buffet we returned to our table to find our hastily discarded napkins had been neatly folded onto our side plates. I enjoyed the array of fresh fruit and yogurt followed by croissants and fresh bread with a selection of meats and cheeses. My husband opted for the full english and is still going on about the black pudding! The whole experience was a wonderful way to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversay and made us realise that we need to do more getting away for a bit of luxury.

Lowry July 2009Wonderful Hotel. Slightly odd location but other than that fine. Bit of an anticlimax after crossing the bridge. Wouldn't want to stay on the "other side " of the hotel without the river view. The romm was fantastic however the bathroom only had a shower over the bath that is not my preference. Other than this the stay was excellent and I will definately look to stay / play there again !!

FantasticA beautiful hotel, the most pleasant of staff and in the perfect location for shopping and gigs in manchester. What more could you ask for. The staff go out of their way to help it is indeed one of the friendliest hotels around similar to Browns in London for their un-snootyness. I love the place and will stay many times in the future. Thank you

Disco noiseI asked for a quiet room at a high level. We got a room on the second floor which was over a function room where a very noisy disco took place later in the evening 11pm to 1.30pm. I complained to reception several times but the noise continued and I asked for a change of room but they said they only had one left over the car park. We got our accommodation at half price the next day but the experience was a poor start to our holiday.

This is the second time I have stayed here and on both occassions have enjoyed the experience. The staff are very attentive and the atmosphere relaxed.Would definately recommend this hotel as a good place to stay, based within easy reach of restaurants and bars if you want to venture out.

Absolute pleasure, superb value for money, enjoyed the total experience at The Lowry The ONLY disappointment was on checking out our bill showed mini bar items totalling over £60 which we certainly did not obtain (1 item of £59!!). Once disputed, the bill was amended and the items removed, but this was a bit embarrassing to be pointing out discrepencies in view of other guests!

The staff were definatley 5 star as was the food. I have stayed in hotels over lower star rating that have been furnished better and nicer, but the all the staff at the hotel were fantastic.I am pleased we paid the LateRooms rate and not the hotels rates as I would have been very disappointed

Lowry Hotel, ManchesterBest service I have encountered at a luxury hotel - I was checked in to my room immediately even though I arrived 3 hours before the check in time and my luggage was taken straight up to my room for me and I was shown the facilities. Check out was very efficient also.

Our stay at the Lowry was superb. The staff are very friendly, however one member of staff who looked quite like a manager seemed to look down his nose at us in reception due to the fact we were a young couple and didn't have suits on or were famous like most at the lowry! This made us feel a little uncomfortable. However the other staff were all great. The room was lovely, modern and clean. However when looking in the mini bar there was a champagne glass that had lipstick marks on and dried red wine in the bottom! This we thought wasn't very good of a hotel with as high a reputation of the lowry but didn't complain to reception as we weren't using the glasses. Overall our stay at the lowry was fantastic and would stay there again next time.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone as it's good value for money and in an excellent location for shopping & dining. The only downside was the breakfast as it was cold but all other aspects of the hotel made up for it.

Quality establishment with very good facilities and excellent serviceLovely room, though I would recommend you ask for a room that is not adjoining another as the only negative was the amount of noise that came through the door between adjoining rooms. Top notch bed and very good room facilities. Restaurant and bar both excellent, top service in all aspects. A bit of a construction site out the front at the moment but great access to the city centre and overall a very good experience. Would recommend to others and use again myself.

Superb really enjoyed it.Definitely go again it was great unbelieabvly nice breakfast. Also Sarah Harding was in the bar that evening!
