The hotel was magnificent. Even though it is not near the hotel, it was a perfect location for all the other activities that Costa Rica offers. The staff was extremely accomodating and the grounds were beautiful.

It would have been nice if it was an all inclusive hotel. It was aggravating that everything cost and prices were ridiculous. There wasn't much of a selection to buy in the gift shop. The beach was quite ugly and useless. The pool was nice. The view was nice as well. Staff were pretty friendly. It was too quiet... no activities during the day.... no live entertainment. No pool activities. No excitement. Kinda boring. Golf course VERY EXPENSIVE... $150 a day and goes up from there... the Casino was very small, a complaint from guests was they lost more money and no winnings. Buffet food was pretty good, $20-25 per person at each sitting. Reception area was nice, hotel was clean overall. Plenty of sitting areas. But prices were just ridiculous, $11 for a cocktail $7 for a bottle of beer, $7 for bottle of water. I am not saying it was a bad hotel, it is pretty but will I come back to Los Suenos... probably not.

The layout and the perfect scenery. Nothing to say bad. All good. Excellent service means a lot to people and cleanliness. Would definitely go back without a doubt.

loved our room even tho it faced the grounds. staff very friendly and helpful. not as easy access for tours as i thought it would be. pool area is beautiful. beach is not as nice as we have seen in carribean. arenal volcano was worth the trip. dinner at villa calletas was well worth it for the sunset view alone. will plan to stay again.

location is very remote,so alot of car time for activities. Pool is best Ive been to. Staff not very helpful, some language barriers in them understanding what we wanted. Did not make guests aware of marina offerings which we found by accident the last nite and would really have enjoyed 1/2-1 mile from hotel. shuttle service provided to various events was great but no stool to enter bus which was most difficult for senior travelers. Hotel/pool very clean, food mediocre.

Beautiful ... but everything was insanely expensive. If you are looking for the real Costa Rica then dont stay here. It was beautiful but very Americanized. You didnt feel like you were in Costa RIca until you left the compound. If you want luxury then stay here. Good place to come back to after day excursions. I felt very very safe here. The Los Suenos Marina was awesome. The Hook Up Bar is a great place to go for drinks at sunset! Go to the Hotel Villa Calletas a few kms away for sunsets. The place was amazing.

The property is nice, and the pool is incredible, but the pool is the only reason to go there. I paid over $1,700 for 4 nights. Our view was of the parking lot. Buses woke us up throughout the night. It's a "Beach Club" but the beach isn't usable, it's made up of debris filled brown sand and dirty water. The marina is neat, but it's a long walk from the hotel. Food was average and the staff was friendly. We saw incredible wildlife in other parts of Costa Rica, but only iguanas, and a racoon in our hallway here. If you have lots of money, and you want to sit by the pool, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you can see a lot more of Costa Rica for a lot less money elsewhere.

I've been to Jaco many times and have stayed in all types of hotels, from surf camps to the marriott....marriott rules....great pool and poolside food & drinks...............restaurants are weak & expensive....even breakfast buffet sucked @$24USD WHEW!!!......room service food and service overall was great.............not really for young travelers ...boring.........lots of kids too, warm spots in the pool...........spa was great, massage, facial. etc, average hotel fittness center, tennis too.... x-tra charge for all. & everything...ALTHOUGH GREAT SERVICE....watch your tabs...hotel adds service + some sort of additional intentional overcharge., keep all your hotel charges......beach at the hotel is poor...better off going to hermosa some 10 miles south, black sand and deserted...if your watching your $ this is not for you....if you plan to spend a lot of time at the pool and going on hotel sponsored tours...... rush to book a room here

This hotel was a really wonderful place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurants had great food. The pool and grounds were outstanding. They have a full gym and spa. If you want to relax stay here.

Very pleased with this surprising hotel and resort. The area is built better than areas in the US by far. Attention to detail is excellent, Marina is state-of-the-art. PS: Look at the properties offered for sale - for the savvy investor, high returns.

"Los Suenos is a lovely resort (get an ocean view room), but we expected far better dining options. Boring, tasteless food in the main restaurants. Poolside snack bar served excellent lunch. Pool is fantastic; like swimming in a meandering stream. Beds were divine! Beach was unattractive and unappealing. Excellent tours available through the Tour Office. We enjoyed the Aerail Tram Rainforest tour (go in the morning) and the Jungle Safari Crocodile cruise."

US prices but not US luxuries. When the hotel is full they have power surges which we experienced.We did not have a/c for hours and it was very hot! No reimbursement for hotel services when not satisfied. Hotel does not have enough restaurants to accomodate all people staying at the hotel so you might end up eating buffet all of your stay.
