hotel staff very friendly good location close to all the beaches. a very good hotel for familys.the rooms were nice however there were problems with the t.v. and the in room safe did not work. if you are single and you even run into an old friend or not they are not going to be allowed into your room .not a problem in the u.s canada or most of europe.however in mexico some family run operations are backwards. if you need freedom of association to invite guests of your choosing this is not your hotel.however if this is not a problem with you or you are traviling with your wife or family this is a fine hotel.

The location. Mildew smell. Although this hotel is in a very good location, I can not recommend it because of the mildew smell.

We were pleased with our accomodations. The rate was reasonable for the quality. The staff was helpful and honest. Our room was spacious, with a kitchenette, and a balcony with an ocean view (albeit in the distance.) The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I can be a bit of a baby about sleeping in a hotel but I slept well there. It was within walking distance of restaurants, the beach, bars, shopping, the malecon (boardwalk), etc., right off the main strip. It is in the Romantic Zone of the Viejo Vallarta. I am so glad we stayed in the Romantic Zone instead of Nuevo Vallarta, which seems very cheesey. Los Arcos has a cozy heated pool and you may use the Playa Arcos pools, beach, etc., which is right around the corner. We did not choose the "all inclusive package" and were satisfied to select our own restaurants, etc., in Puerto Vallarta. We did not have a bad meal. The only complaints are that the bathroom is a little out of date and small. The shower water pressure was good though. The room smelled musty when we arrived but they brought us a dehumidifier and it took care of the smell. The room had small ants but we just kept our food in the refigerator. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here a week and were very pleased. The maid service did a great job keeping our room clean even though we dragged in a ton of sand everyday. The staff was very friendly and most spoke passable English. There are four of us, 2 parents and 2 teenaged boys and the room was plenty big. There was a queen and two pull-out couches. The tap water is filtered and safe to drink (at least we didn't get sick from it). The suites are across the street from the main hotel and you're able to use the pool, lounge chairs and towels at that hotel. The main hotel is right on the beach so the suites are literally a 2 minute walk from the beach. Streetside balconies have an ocean view. If you want to stay in the old downtown part of Puerto Vallarta then this is a really good choice.

Our low score for the hotel, was primarily due to the noisy pool area, sometimes noisy little kids were in the pool well past 10:00 pm when the pool is supposed to be closed. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The ability to use the other two locations was fantastic. The roof pool at the sister hotel across the street was wonderfully quiet, warm and had great wireless service. We walked everywhere in Old Town, and Down Town. The improvements at the oceanfront let you now comfortably walk all the way to the Down Town Malecon very easily. Great sunsets, fireworks, and great food everywhere. We want to thank Orbitz for the timely email contacts, and especially want to thank local Orbitz representative [...] from PV for getting in touch with us. His offer of travel services without the usual Time Share sales effort was most welcome. His prices were competetive, and access to a local person was comforting. Thanks to Orbitz, the Los Arcos Hotel Family, and Mexico herself, for a wonderfully romantic vacation!

The art work in the hotel. This is a very quiet , pleasant place to stay in Puerto Vallarta. Close to the beach, great food and coffee. Beds are very comfortable.

I stayed in the suites. The room was very good. Sure I was there in the very humid season in Sept. There was a musty smell at times. When I mentioned it housekeeping took care of it, maybe used Fabreeze. Each time I made a request it was fulfilled. Note, I had to ask. The culture seemed to be very laid back. What may seem to be slow service was their style of giving the guest relaxing service. I had to ask for the "cuenta" bill at meals. Often I had to signal to a waiter that I now wanted attention. Don't get me wrong .... This is NOT a first class or 5 star resort. This is a locally owned and operated hotel. You get a true Local or Mexican experience. If you want The Hyatt, stay there.

The hotel has a great location and a friendly staff, but our refridgerator did not work, nixing our plans of keeping food and beverages in the room, changed the whole dynamic of our trip. Also, their were bugs EVERYWHERE. They looked like mini-cockroaches and they were in the bathroom and in the kitchen area all over. It was disgusting. Would not stay here again.

Very pleasant. We have stayed at this property before. It is unbelievable how the staff remembers us from year to year

Very pleasant restaurant and bar right on the beach. Great Guacamole, chips, salsa and Sol beer. Old and needs a modern high tech upgrade. Los Arcos is right on the beach in the romantic zone. Many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Great in hotel restaurant on the beach. Fine, gourmet restaurant with indoor and sidewalk tables.

The hotel was probably a 3 on a scale of 1-5. The front desk clerks were always friendly & helpful. The room was clean enough, the linens left a little to be desired though. Even though they were clean, they were well used. The area in which the hotel is was the plus. It is within walking distance to many good restaurants and the shopping in El Centro. The ocean is only a block away and we had a balcony in which you can see see the ocean from.

The location in the Zona Romantica was excellent! The staff were very accomodating and helpful. The room was spotless, fantastic view on the fourth floor, short walk to the main hotel on the beach(less than a block), pool at the hotel was quiet and private. The bed was very , very firm. The suite had a small kitchenette which would be great if you plan on cooking in your room or were with a family. We had a fantastic time and would definately return to this hotel if we return to Puerto Vallarta. I would definately stay in the zona romantica. The travel office at the Los Arcos building on the beach was very helpful with planning excursions. The whole vacation was fun and relaxing.

My daughter and I spend time on the beach and at the pool. It was very relaxing and convenient to shopping and restaurants and El Malecon. The location couldn't be beat.

I loved the decor and about 1/2 of the staff wasvery nice. It had very musty and moldy smell. The smell still permeates my clothes. I think it's a very lovely hotel (set of three) in the old Vallarta area - and its nice being right off of the ocean. It seemed that about 1/2 of the staff was very nice and friendly and the remaining just following through on what they needed to do. The spa services were very nice, reasonable and professionally performed! And, it was nice having a kitchenette. The cleaning staff did an excellent job of making the room clean and inviting (folded towels in different shapes were very nice). The key drawback in the hotel was the incredible mustiness - which I was told wouldn't necessarily be any better in another room. It seems to come from the air/heating vents - if the windows are open, it's much better.

The suite is very dated and not in good shape. The bed was fine and the front desk help was OK. We found it noisy at night and most of the day. It's in the hub of activity but overpriced for the quality of rooms.

Location is downtown to Los Arcos area. Rundown, old appliances and furniture. Staff is very attentive. Pool is major amenity.

We're a family of 3 (mom, dad and a 12 yr old boy). We have travelled extensively over the years. we tend to avoid resorts at this point to maintain our freedom . The location is great if you want to stay in the older part of town- cobbled streets, no McDonalds, etc. The room was basic but clean and very functional. Our son slept on the convertable sofa in the 'living room'. We had a king size bed- very comfy and private. The kitchenette allowed us to make snacks and breakfast in the room as well as coffee which we ate on the terrace.. We bought food at GR Supermarket about 8 blocks away. The kitchen has basic cooking utensils along with coffee machine and toaster, but no microwave. There is only basic room service- I think that comes from the other Los Arcos property across the street, but again- we never use that stuff especially when I can make coffee my way in the room. Bring filters or buy them at GR along with fresh ground coffee right by the entrance. Great deal on vanilla beans there too. You can use the pool at the Playa Los Arcos Resort 1 block away and its on the beach. There is a pool at the Suites, but we didn't use it. The hotel fully met our needs and should meet yours if you're looking for something comfortable, clean, safe in the older part of town and don't mind minimal personal services (room service etc). We're already looking to go back in November

The Los Arcos Suites Hotel sits just off the main street, about 1 and 1/2 blocks from the beach. Balconies overlook the quiet deadend street, but allow a view of life in this lovely mexican town. A wonderful diversity of restaurants are within a few blocks. The amenities of the nearby sister hotels are available to anyone staying here. The pool area is quiet and relaxing. The staff is very courteous and quick to respond to your any need. I love this place and will return for many years.

Room at Los Arcos Suites was large, with kitchen and sitting area separate. Staff was very friendly, responsive to needs. Bathroom smelled a little musty but was clean. Clean towels, sheets. Room cleaning staff were very helpful and cleaned well. Close to local cafes, restaurants, Malecon. From balcony we could see ocean though we were one block behind other hotel building (Los Arcos Playa). Los Arcos Playa had great swimming pool, great service in restaurant and good food. Range of food and prices were acceptable. We did not use pool at Los Arcos Suites - area was enclosed and too dark to enjoy.
