Perfect for location for what I needed as parents live close by and needed to be close. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff were very good.

The breakfast was outstanding - the food delightful and the staff was most attentive and friendly. I loved everything about The Lord Nelson. The Lord Nelson is a gorgeous old hotel located next to the Public Gardens in Halifax. The parking was under the building so it was very convenient. The rooms were large and well-decorated. The bathrooms were very clean and filled with spa products. The lobby boasted coffee and tea in the morning and the guests were able to snack on Granny Smith apples at other times. The hotel offers an exquisite breakfast experience on the mezzanine level.

Very nice hotel with no complaints from this couple. Coin laundry down the hall was a nice & needed surprise. Ethernet DSL hook-up in room was just fine. We would have preferred windows that open but we survived the very good HVAC. The Public Gardens across the street will never be topped for a location.

The Lord Nelson has a beautufl lobby. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The best quality of this hotel is the location. If your desire is to experience downtown Halifax, The Lord Nelson is located in the center of all downtown clubs, restaurants and shopping. The room was sufficient...nothing to rave about though. Simple and clean.

The staff was young and lethargic. When we arrived, none of the three doormen offered to help us with our bags or direct us to the parking deck. The hotel bar/restaurant was also a disappointment. There were panhandlers drinking in the bar. The room was very nice and clean but I got the sense that the hotel was on a downward trend. It may be the location. The hotels down by the harbour and the casinos were much more upscale. It was a nice place to stay for a night but it wasn't a ""wow"" hotel.

The location of the hotel was great. We received excellent customer service during our stay. We were close to shopping and our choice of restaurants. We were able to spend a relaxing day away without any worries!

The hotel is very comfortable and has an upscale feel. It is right in the middle of everything, and within walking distance to the Citadel, Public Gardens, Maritime Museum, and other downtown shops."

The Hotel is very elegant with great location opposite the public gardens and adjacent to Spring Garden Rd. (main shopping and entertainment)Staff are all very friendly and helpful
