Lope De Vega is a pleasant, modern facility 5 minutes walk from the Prado and no more than 10 from the Reina Sofia and Thyssen. Once you get off the main streets, the surrounding neighborhood is relatively tourist-free and has a number of restaurants worth spending some time in.

This is a terrific hotel if you are interested in seeing Madrid museums. It is across the street from the Prado, and blocks from Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia. The Atocha train station is also convenient, and many good restaurants about a 10 minute walk away, while the local area is quiet. Closeness to the Retiro park is also a plus, and the staff is very friendly, English speakers.

Very clean, efficient and pleasant. Excellent value, friendly helpful staff. Relatively small, restaurant only open for breakfast and snacks. We are a senior citizen couple, and found the hotel to be perfect. The location, across the street from the Prado Museum, and near transportation, was excellent. It was clean and efficient, and staff was exceedingly helpful. The only negative was lack of a full service restaurant. It did serve a fine breakfast, but that was expensive. The consistent Lope de Vega theme was educational, and pleasant. Rooms were small, but comfortable.

Great location, close to the Prado, the Reine Sofia, the Atocha train station, and Retiro park. Breakfast was not included, and the laundry facilities were several blocks away.
