A homely feelWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the host was very polite and hlepful. I would thoroughly recommend this B & B for anyone who wishes a comfortable and relaxed stay.

guest house from the seventiesThis guest house needed a complete makeover. The decoration was very dated and whoever has attempted to freshen it up should be replaced. The room was so small I could almost touch both walls at the same time. when we were shown the room the only way to pass each other was to stand in the bathroom. I can see why the landlady took the money before we saw the room. I am so glad I was there for only one night.Management ResponseI would like to thank The guest for his opinion, although would point out that the guest rooms were totally redecorated and upgraded during the winter months 2008/09. Indeed, for the short period he spent at my property, I'm surprised he had the opportunity to survey the decoration to any degree or that it affected his ability to sleep! As for the size of the rooms, they are standard for any victorian terraced house and are furnished with bed and dressing tables, with ample space for most guests' usual requirements. The en-suite bathroom is the size of a standard family bathroom. In view of his opinion, which he was unable to voice to me during his stay, I too am glad he only stayed one night. Maybe next time this guest should book a 5 Star Hotel and pay the price!

Way overpriced. £30 pppn would be nearer the mark. Nasty laminated no smoking sign in the room. Horrible decor and a sign in the bathroom warning of up to £400 pound charge for flushing anything down the loo that caused the noisy electric mechanism to malfunction. A horrible sweet, sickly aroma wafts through the house. The third bed for child use was so noisy we had to put the mattress directly on the floor.

The breakfast was nice except for the sausage which could of been much nicer if it was better quaulity, another couple I was sat near to in the mornig were also commenting on the sausage... I am not fully aware of the pricing structure regarding the local area and I personally thought the price did not reflect the seasonal rate for that time of year.
