We stayed in Lilai Hotel for 5 nights. We found the overall experience very positive, above all because of the very helpful staff. The rooms were fine, and towels/linen were changed every day. The hotel is very centrally located near the Ximen station and Ximen district, where there are wonderful cheap places to eat and small shops. Would be delighted to stay in Lilai hotel again if we return to Taipei.

Better inside than looking at from outside. Helpful staff. Rooms big enough, simpler, but fine. Breakfast is very simple, however nice to have something on room served.

LiLai is a no frill hotel. Rate is good but bed is hard. It is near to xi men ding as well. Overall not a comfy hotel but it is cheap and has good location.

cheap, clean, for short stay enough.

Great location, very close to Ximen. The room was simple, but clean. The bed is very hard. In a different review, someone said the hotel did not have hot water. It did have hot water when I stayed in Oct 2008. The price is really cheap for Taipei and location. I plan on staying there again very soon.

Staff very helpful, breakfast delivered to door, not very adequate, location handy to Main Taipei Station and airport bus. Not bad for the price.

It is very close to Ximending (popular shopping place for young people) and easy for cabs to find if you don't speak Chinese. The hotel staff was very kind and could speak a little English. This isn't a beautiful hotel...the hallways smell, but the room didn't smell bad. It is a bit dirty and cheap. The TV was old and worn down. But, for this price you are paying mostly for the location. If you want a nice hotel to show off or have a party in, this isn't the place. If you want a very convienent and very cheap place to sleep in, this is a good choice.

Good location close to main railway station and to airport buses. Basically clean place, but rather run down. Not a dedicated building which is shared with another hotel. No restaurant facilities. The "inclusive" breakfast is somewhat "funny" consisting of 3 choices of paperwrapped ready made food, served at the room with instant coffee from a paper-cup. Price and location make up for the shortcomings.

other than the location is good. not much to mention.

Lilai has no more than you can expect for the price, but makes a convenient drop point in Taiwan, close from the MRT station, city center... Reception is basic and won't provide you with a city map (get one from MRT station's information desk) nor advice, but will keep your luggage for the day upon request. Breakfast is to be ordered before sleeping -otherwise a late phone call will wake you up. It is hung at the door and is much better (sandwich + cold drink) than some served in hotels with actual breakfast room. Noise from the street can be a problem: bring earplugs. A/C, TV, hair dryer in the room. Bathroom is sufficient enough (shower and bassin); items are provided there. No locker: can be an issue. Windows actually close. Good value, recommended for a short stay.

Overall, the bed is pretty hard and lighting is dim also.. receptionist is unfriendly especially the lady for who is not that helpful in providing assistance..

This is a very simple hotel, with only the basics, so if you are ok with basics, it should be fine. The staff is friendly while the location is 5-10 mins walk to Ximending, Tapei.

A good location for a cheap sleep however the windows in the rooms often don't lock which could be a security issue.

It was clean but ageing hotel. Rooms are also rented at 'short stay' rates of a few hundred NT$. Deco is quite interesting! No wireless Internet.

The window did not lock properly, but as it is on the 10th or so floor I guess it is not such a problem. Friendly & honest staff.

Good location and value for money. Pick-up location for airport bus is right outside the hotel. However, but furniture reminds me of going back in time into the 60s (but clean)! Just one thing, hot water not working in this hotel, may be key minus point for winter travellers.
