What I liked most about the hotel was the friendly staff. However, this DOES NOT apply to the VIP SALES STAFF. I noticed and spoke with lots of tourists from England, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Netherland and some other countries that shared the same thought on how pushy were the sales people from the VIP marketting. They chase you every where you go and do not take "NO" for an answer. I found it ridiculous when you are on vacation and these people trying to promote sales of VIP villas and some other nonsense. MY suggestion to the future travellers is that to STAY AWAY from these sales people and don't waste your vacation time on these people. Next, the food is almost the same for breakfast, lunch and dinner and NOT GOOD at all... I did not try the Salad Bar at all during my 7 day of stay.. the quality of the fruits and vegetables were poor and not kept well...there were flies, mosquitos and birds bitting on the fruit and Salad bar. The main dinning room called "Casa Blanca" which is very hot, open and has no AC...Not comfortable at all..I think if you are latino you might enjoy the food more as the food menu is mostly latin style dishes, lots of rice, beans, plantanu, yocca and so on. The only night that I enjoyed the food in "Casa Blanca" was on Tuesday night which they have a "Special Buffet Dinner" for the week and the food was Excellent. So make sure you ask on which day is the "Sepcial Buffet Dinner". I was glad to see that there was not so many types of beans, rice and fried bananas..instead there were choices of Lobster, Turkey, Veal, Salmon, Shrimps and excellent appetizers and Desert. But that is only once a week...So don't miss the Special Buffet. There are two other restaurants as well, "Billini" which is Italian, and "Indochine" which is mix of Indian and Chinese type of food. You need reservation for both of these restaurants. I tried Billini restaurant and the food was ok and nothing to go crazy about. I did not go to the Indochine resataurant. The po

We really enjoyed our stay at the resort until one of the workers started hounding us at the buffet restaurant. We tried to sneak out of the restaurant after he had bugged us on the way in about getting a free shirt (pointing at the nice polo shirt he had on) and other gifts if we just went on a 20 minute tour. It was the only day we had on our vacation that it didn't rain so we didn't really want to do it but then he secretly told us if we did it he would get $* for his family. Anyway, we suckered into going and the 20 min tour- to be nice but it ended up being over 2 hours of high pressure, condescending manipulation to get you to buy a vacation plan through them. When we clearly told them that it is our personal conviction not to make major purchases without praying about it first to be sure we were making a wise move- the sales mgr scoffed at us and condescendingly said that we could just try it out for a few days while we were there and then we had 18 months to change our mind. Well, we were duped into it- the 20 minutes turned into 2-1/2 hours, the polo shirt was a t-shirt, and the option to change our mind (which we tried to do before we left)- was the biggest deception of all. Only option was to put it in their "Buy Back" program in which there was no guarantee that anyone would actually buy it back- not only that but the maximum amount you could get was $* less than what we paid for it! Money we would have spent visiting our Compassion child the next 3yrs- GONE! :(

my family just came back from the dr yesterday and i did not regret staying at this resort, they are very family friendly, superb customer service and we never had to ask anything twice. if we needed somehting for our room, from housekeeping or maintenance, they come immediately. the food is excellent, they have some very nice restaurant on site and the drinks aren't bad as well. they have poolside activities for the kids and adults as well. they have nightly entertainment for the guests......the prices at the gift shops although is doubled. rooms are very clean and well maintained, and mini fridge is always well stocked. we had a nice view of the ocean and the pool from our room..... the beach chairs are a little lacking but the water was so warm and calm.... just beware of the sales people that approach you everywhere and all you have to say is no thank you consistently if you do not wanna be bothered . overall this resort was excellent with family friendliness ......

The service was exceptional at this location. I am a picky eater so there was not much that I could eat on the buffet. Watch out for the VIP vacation club sales pitch. Major complaint is that there is truly a lack of evening activities to choose from. The pools and beach are wonderful.

The resort was great! Rooms clean, bed comfortable, staff very friendly especially the young team of guys and girls that did the pool activities and the evening shows. Food was kind of bland in the buffet. Great selection just not much flavor. Mexican specialty restaraunt very good however the Italian one made us both sick. Don't try the lasgna. Needed more info on area such as town and restaraunts. Beach ok but beware of vendors trying to sell their wares. Might possibly go back to the Dominican but would stay on the south coast instead of north. Price of resort was good for what you got.

Our first day there our room tiolet didnt flash later on in the evening when we got back to room after going out on the town, since there's nothing to do at the resort. We came back as my friend checked the tank to see why the water wasnt flowing only to realize it was filled with feces. So maintaince came to fix it and we could not sleep because he was trying to fix the bathroom in the middle of the night. The second day after return back to our room only to hear the carbon monoxide going off and would not stop even when maintance came, we ended up getting a new room. It was three of us and we requested additional towels and wash cloths, up until the day we left they never gave us any, we ended up taking so from the cleaning ladys cart every day. They did not replenish the water in the fridge even after we kept calling the front desk resquesting water. My sister ended up drinking the water at the resturant there and got sick. There was no place to eat other that Casa Blanc resturant because the reservation people gave you a hard time to put your name on the list of resturants. Eating at Casa Blanc (buffet style)was a nightmare, the place was swamp with flies and crows every minute of the day. My friend who's a vegeterian ended up not eating for the most part(only ate the bread) because they did not have any vegetarian dishes. One night we wanted to take our dinner to our room and we asked the supervisor for a container because we saw a couple with one and they told us they got it from the supervisor, the supervisor lied and said it was for someone sick and when I brought to his attention that the people looked fine and said it was for them, he got speechless. We knew he was being racist and just didnt want to give it to us. This hotel has nothing to do, the beach was average, the drinks are weak, the staff is not helpful and if I didnt have a friend living in DR we would have been bored and hungry our entire stay. I would never stay here again or recommend it our f

Upon arrival waited for over an hour to have room cleaned and ready when arrived in room it was dirty and small changed to another room where a/c did not work. Does not look like pictures as the pictures are from the VIP part that is brand new and will only set you back $7000 after a 30 min tour where we were told that we would be upgraded to that area. Never occurred. DO NOT STAY HERE

Upon my arrival of the room, I had to have the sheets and cover change because they were not clean. The furniture is outdated. A very small TV on the dresser. It appears they invest a significant portion of there revenues in curve appeal and very little to update the rooms. The bathroom is small and outdated. Also the room had a musk smell. The food was good. The nightly entertainment was awesome!
