A lovely little place with an awesome breakfast..!Enjoyed our stay at Letterbox Guest House. Room was Clean,Tidy and provided a good base. Breakfast was awesome (would reccomend the Emperor) a little bit of a wait for the food but it was worth it. Host was very accomodating and gave lots of ideas about what to do and where to eat. Parking is available but limited (we got a parking ticket because we had to park on-street). This was our first experience of B&Bs and would definatley do it again. If you are visiting Weymouth stay here..

A night in weymouthEasy to find & ideal for the ferry and sea front. Welcoming host & the glass of wine to finish the day was most welcome. If you are catching the early ferry ask n advance & you can have a packed breakfast. We didn't kow this so missed out. The suite was ideal as we had 2 rooms for our teenage daughter.

Over ratedA pleasant stay in a pleasant room, but it is over priced for what you get. I had a small room on the top floor which was nice enough, everything that you would expect was in the room. A nice touch was the availability of free drinks in the evening although I didn't take advantage. The landlord is almost over attentive, maybe trying too hard to please his guests, but at least he genuinely cares. Breakfast was a disappointment though, slow service, cheap sausages and smoke wafting out of the kitchen setting off the fire alarms! But there was a good menu, it wasn't just a fry-up, eggs benedict was on the menu for example. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Easter BreakI have stayed in numerous guest houses all over the UK for both business and pleasure and although fairly easily pleased in general its very much a lottery. The Letter Box however breaks the mold as it is more of an experience than just somewhere to bed down thanks to host Michael. I cannot fault this bed & breakfast and will not be looking elswhere should we return to Weymouth in the future. I congratulate you and wish you every success.

First trip to WeymouthWanted to check out the Dorset area and also have a bit of a romantic break. Our room was small and pokey, I was disappointed. The couple are very charming and nice who own the place but that could not make up for the noisey clock tower and issues with electrics while we were there. Also the breakfast is slow, plan to be there for atleast 1 hour as it's a one person show cooking for all the guests. After getting spoiled at the New Forest B&B's for less money, this was disappointing but it did not put us off the area. Ok place to stay if you are just looking for a place to put your head but we wanted a bit more then that.

The hotel is very well located. The manager is a truly nice man who makes you feel welcomed and everything is spotlessly clean. We liked everything at the hotel, the only problem was that we could hear the person in the room above whenever he walked around and we could hear voices when people were talking in the lounge below our room.

We enjoyed our three night break very much. It was a little difficult to access the premises initially and we couldn't find the car park entrance. Once inside we were delighted with the little touches that Michael and Penny provided, fresh fruit and a bottle of wine or beer if wanted. Breakfast was great and plentiful, there was a lot of choice. Michael was very helpful and directed us to places of interest and suggested good restaurants. A very good experience and one which we will definitely repeat.

This turned out to be the perfect venue for a short out of season break. All stress from the journey down disappeared almost upon arrival with the warmth of the welcome and the almost immediate provision of a pot of tea in the front-room. The off-street parking is handy and the house is lovely. We did have the place to ourselves for two out of the three nights which made it feel like a real home from home, The complementary drinks each night was a bonus as was the offer of a pot of tea when we got back each afternoon. Breakfast was a leisurely affair with everything cooked to order and no set times either. The Letter Box is ideally located close to the main shopping centre, beach and Old Harbour. We had a bedroom at the back and whilst you can hear the church bells we didn't find them that intrusive even with the window open. The room was certainly big enough for our needs with storage, flat screen TV and ensuite but some may consider it a bit small.

The hospitality of the hotel was A+, the owner couldn't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The setting of the house was ideal and right on the front, we expected to hear noise, but was quite quiet. The only downfall was we were in the smaller bedroom and the shower had yet to be updated, the old design of the bathroom meant every time you had a shower the whole bathroom floor was soaked, other than that we would defintely stay again.

Mike was a great host and could not have been nicer but not everything went to plan1) some of the rooms face onto a nearby clock tower that bell rings every 30 minutes during the night2) Hot water was in limited supply (However Mike assured me this should not have happened)3) Breakfast - Mike and his partner run 2 guest houses in weymouth and unfortunately mike was the chef for both of them this day so had to wait 45 minutes for breakfast

The location could not be better, no more than 60 seconds from the beach, harbour or town centre. Very friendly propriator who even leaves a courtesy drinks tray in the lounge in the evenings! Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of options.I would recommend this place to anyone.

We actually booked the Letterbox but ended up staying at The Bakehouse - both owned by Penny & Michael - it was a fabulous guest house and would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to friends, there were lots of special touches i.e. glass of wine/beer etc left out in the lounge. The both guest houses are in an excellent location and have been done up to a very excemptional standard. Very special one night break!

Breakfast was great - cooked to order and lots of fresh fruit. When we arrived they had complimentary beer and wine - nice touch. The room was ok (Clean) for the price and time of year (August). Great location across from the Promenade.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Michael was the perfect host and couldn't do enough to help. Breakfasts were very relaxed and leisurely, and there was no \"breakfast finishes at 10\" rule. We were in room number 1 at the back and it did get a bit noisy with the bells from the church, but the lcoation of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff, more than made up for that.

We booked the Letter Box Purely on availability and location. I have to say that we were both pleasantly suprised. There is off street parking which is a must for this location. Our room was a bit on the small side but had everything we needed and was beautifully furnished, so no complaints. The bed was extremely comfortable! Customer service was beyond all expectations and breakfasts were suberb and included a fresh fruit platter, cereal, yogurts and a cooked breakfast which was almost anything you wanted. In fact I tested Michael and asked for eggs benedict! This wasnt on the menu, but he went out and got it for the next day!! Fabulous! If you go to Weymouth, I reccomend \"The Letterbox\"
