We visit Montreal for 2 days. The location / neighborhood is ok, but not great. The hotel is very clean and maintained very well. The rooftop terrace is great. The garage is really a thrill (try to get down without scratching your car). The main problems are the slow staff and the small bed.

Great location, in room kitchennette and clean shower. No elevator from the parking garage to the room. Great hotel! Great price! Great location! Will for sure be staying here next time we are in Montreal. Steps away from the metro and personally I think it was ways better than the 4 star hotels we stayed in earlier in the week. Kitchenette is a plus, can make your own meals and enjoy it on their terrace.

The only negative was that the room was a little dark. We had a pleasant stay nevertheless.

Basic, but clean hotel which I stayed in for 5 nights over Easter 2009. The hotel is conveniently located in a small side-street off the main St Catherine street, and just a 2 minute walk to the Berri Metro train station and a 5 minute walk to the City Bus Station - airport bus service also drops offs/picks up here. Not right in the middle of the CBD either, but nicely located for the gay village if that's your thing. The free internet is not wireless but cabled, but was very reliable and quick whilst the free continental breakfast was also welcomed - very basic and not 100% entirely appetizing, but nevertheless you can't go wrong with toast cereal and preserves can you. The eggs, sausage and potatos weren't all that flash... Fitness room was basic, very small and had a treadmill and bile, whilst weights were lacking. All in all, a great budget hotel

I wish to correct two previous reviews that mentioned small rooms. The hotel lists 5 types of accommodation - one or two bed standard rooms, superior rooms, and junior and executive suites. Our online deal was for the standard room with two beds, which looked very large to me, including the ample, well-stocked kitchenette and spacious bathroom. We were a family of 4 adults, and I had mistakenly reserved only one room instead of two. I asked for an additional cot, but was told that our room was considered too small for it, so we were upgraded to a superior room. This room was huge, and the cot fit in easily. It and the beds were quite comfortable (I tried both on different nights). The upgrade and cot, together, cost an additional $ per night, which I thought was quite reasonable. We stayed January 14-17, during a cold snap. The temperature was about -10 F. the entire time, but we stayed comfortable. Because of the temperatures, we spent more time in the room than we might have otherwise, preparing three meals there, and it was quite comfortable for the four of us. When we did venture outside, we were fortunate that the Metro station was only about 200 yards away. It is a principal junction, so we could take either line that we needed. Also, there is a large, warm underground shopping area at this station - though we found the shops, restaurants, and bars above ground, on St. Denis, more to our liking. Everything about the hotel was excellent. It was inaugurated in 2005. I am not sure that the building is that new, but nothing seemed old or in need of repair. With St. Denis a 5-minute walk, who needs frills? We had a wonderful time.

My wife, daughter and I spent 4 nites here over thanksgiving weekend 2007. Overall the experience was OK however I would not stay there again. First of all, I must say that hotel was very clean and recently renovated. It was also in a convient location. The street it is located on is somewhat deserted, but we walked there at night and felt safe. Our son lives in Montreal and assurred us that the area was safe. Keep in mind that we are "city folk" so we are used to the type of location the hotel is located in. If you want an exclusive location then this is not the hotel for you. The reason we would not reccommend the hotel to us is the way we were treated as "Priceline Customers" We have used Priceline, name your own price for over 5 years. We have stayed in large cities like NYC and Miami as well as small towns using priceline. We have NEVER been asked to pay for an upgrade to 2 beds or pay for services that the other guests get for free. Most hotels gladly obliged and happy to accomidate our request. At this hotel we were charged an extra 35.00 per night to get 2 beds. In addition, the hotel advertises a "free" breakfast. The priceline confirmation did not say that we would not be able to get it for free. We were told "at the price you paid through Priceline, we cannot include breakfast" by "a memebr of management" it would be 7.50 per person per day if you want breakfast. Our room was cleaned only one day out of 3. when we complained to the front desk, they made NO attempt at an appology and made us feel as if we did something

We stayed 2 nights. The room had very strong smell of cleaning detergents which would not air out during our stay. There was something sticky on the floor. The beds were very uncomfortable. The internet did not work, but fortunately we were close enough to pick up the wireless connection. The fridge did not make ice. On the plus side, it was not loud. The street is a bit on the scary side and smells like urine, but it is less than a block for a major metro station. Breakfast is ok.

Amenities wereprovided, cleanliness, nice staff. Small room. It was quite a delightful hotel to stay in, we got more than what we expected to get. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms were very well kept and very clean! Breakfast buffet was really good too.

Everything in the hotel was very good; I am very pleased with the attention at the Front Desk, especially a girl named Dorothee; she was very friendly and helpulf, in spite that she did not speak a lot of english, and did not speak french. I am happy to have choosen this hotel and I am for sure recomend it to anybody and the next time I go to Montreal, I am planning to stay there if is there any vacancy by the time I go.

I have stayed here for 2 nights. Its close to most of the things. Its definitely worth the money.

The staff were wonderful, including answering an e-mail inquiry sent before our trip with great detail on how to get to the hotel. We were worried since we arrived very late with our 1 year old, but their location very near the central bus station was ideal. The room was VERY clean and had a small kitchenette - perfect for families. The hotel provided a portable crib (Pack 'n Play); although they charged an extra */night for the crib use. Location was great - next to the Berri/UQAM metro stop - easy walking distance. Also, we easily walked to the Old Montreal and dock areas for sightseeing. The room was small and bed was not terribly comfortable; but, I still think we got a great deal for the price we paid. I would recommend for short trips and families. If you have more than one child, I would definitely opt for the larger room.

This hotel has the best value for the money. The room was comfortable, relaxing and has all the amenities for a weary traveler. The bathroom was large and very clean. The kitchen area was stock with dinner ware for convenience. It was located on a quite street and yet was only a short walk away to downtown and our favorite Chinatown. Oh the employees were very helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast buffet was tremendous. I will not hesitate to book it again on my next trip to Montreal.

Location was easy walking to lots of places and the metro. Close to metro - hotel has underground parking for $15 per day which was great to keep my motorcycle safe overnight - neighbourhood seems a little rough but it very close to public walking areas on Street Catherine east.

The street approach is a bit unattractive, but the location, facilities and room were very good. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and friendly and we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-October 2008. One night our 18-year-old son stayed with us. The room was comfortable, spacious, quiet... perfect. The mini-kitchen was well equiped with two burners, decent size fridge, microwave, coffemaker, pots and pans, dishes, etc. There were 5 chairs, two at a table, two by the TV, and one at a desk. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than the usual spread at cheap US hotels. It's near a Metro station and in a great part of town but not on a loud street.

Great location but still a budget hotel. Clean and modern but with small rooms, no decor, and zero frills - even the listed hot tub doesn't exist. Spend a few extra and get much more...

Friendly staff, clean rooms, cheap cost, right off St. Catherine. Everything a young partying couple could ask for.

Clean, convenient location, friendly staff. Small bed, awkward underground parking.

The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. Location horrible, facilities, such as gym, disgusting. If you just need a bed and nothing else, and don't mind a scary neighborhood, it's OK. Generally speaking, stay here only as a last resort.
