Rooms were moderate size and clean staff speaks english. Doors had no peep holes or extra locks. This Hotel was perfectly situated in the Bastille section. A short walk away from the #8 Metro stop I'd say about 300ft. Hotel Staff spoke english very well and are very helpful. Room was nice size. The doors did not have a peep hole or a second lock for the door. I was also able to get wireless internet free from ParisLibre which is the wireless network in Paris. I would stay here again!

Great location and service for this swanky hotel. Quiet street, but near great night life and daytime residential living.

We stayed for 4 nights, and had reserved a quiet, non-smoking "executive" room. The first room had ashtrays and a connecting door with lots of noise - we were woken a 2am when the neighbours came back, and we heard every toilet detail. The a/c was a portable unit jammed between window & bed and could not be used at night because of its noise. Room was stuffy & small - only room for one bedside table. There was no way of making coffee until we requested a kettle. We changed to a better, larger room also with a noisy portable a/c with temperature control knob missing. Two wall lights were inoperable, TV remote missing, two cups with only one saucer. Coffee and sugar were not renewed. During the night there was an incredible amount of noise from the "garden" (actually a patio). The hotel was perhaps a 2*+ not 4* and definitely not worth $400 per night. I wonder what a "standard" room would be like! BTW the restaurant was excellent!

The hotel was a great choice. The location is perfect with the bakery, restaurants, Metro station (direct line to the Ecole Militare from which you have a great view of the Eiffel Tower!) Bastille and the modern opera house, and Notre Dame only one mile away. Like other visitors stated before, the breakfast is a little too expensive in the hotel and utilizing the kitchonette, the bakery and supermarket down the street saves a lot of money. However, the restaurant and bar of the hotel has good prices and the food is great. The staff on the front desk is incredible helpful ? don?t forget to make reservations to the Eiffel Tower restaurant! The rooms were small for US standards but normal for European standards and clean. I agree that the cobble stone courtyard looks great but is a little noise. Ask for a room in the upper floors and the front buildings ? that should keep the noise to a minimum. We would stay here again.

considering the very good value of the package bought through Travelocity, this hotel was a good deal. its location is very convenient, whether you want to take a walk in the nearby Marais, or need to take the subway (literally one minute away), it was very easy. the hotel staff was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. the lobby is nice, if a bit flashy. but the room was very small, with a funky chemical odor persisting even with the window open all day. the elevator worked intermittently, and the noise level at night was sometimes rather high. most rooms face an interior cobblestone courtyard, and some guests come back late at night having maybe drank a bit too much. overall, a decent hotel, with ambitions not realized. the rates start at ?*, which is just ridiculous. i would not have stayed one night at that price. i didn't try the ?20 breakfast, but you can grab a coffee and croissant in one of the corner bars for about 3.

the hotel is conveniently located between Republique and Bastille, two main metro stations. Depending on the building your room is in, you may have very different experience. We were in the Eiffel building, at the end of the hallway, window on the courtyard, great room. Elevator was out of order but it was fine.
