Parking (added to by the city centre one-way system) is the only issue. Almost certainly the best hotel in the City.

If you're looking for a sterile environment in which you can eat off the floor, go to a hospital and stay. If you're looking for a very interesting, quaint, unique place with a LOT of character and ambiance, this is your place.The customer service was wonderful. I can't say enough how pleased I was with the accommodations, attitude and overall value of this establishment. I fully recommend you consider staying here. Mainstream is boring; Chateau La Crosse is an experience."

General overviewThis hotel is in an excellent location and is a superb building. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the accommodation, spotlessly clean. Only downside is the bar area which looks very clinical and doesn't sell draught ale.

Great LocationThe hotel was superbly located, though the car parking arrangement are a bit of a bind (car park 10 mins drive away) City centre location, nice rooms, pleasant staff.Good bars and restuarants at rear and front of hotel, good value for money.Will definitley stay again when in Sheffield.

Leopold Hotel SheffieldThis hotel was great value for money and ideally located for entertainment/ bars etcI would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We found this to be a comfortable and pleasant hotel in the centre of Sheffield which was what we needed as we were visiting the university on an open day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and well appointed but was up on the top floor and had a skylight rather than a window - didn't matter for one night but might have been a bit oppressive for longer. Bathroom excellent, modern - bit of low water pressure but there were bathrobes and slippers! All in all very nice and we would recommend it. It is interesting as it was an old school so has a bit of history but has been thoroughly updated.

I was disappointed with the hotel generally. When I checked in nobody offered to help me with my bags (I had five bags). The room was small and although billed as a 'boutique' hotel did not offer the stylish interior or good bathroom facilities I expected from a hotel of this kind. The 'plasma' tv was so high up the wall that I had to lie down on my bed to watch it comfortably and in the morning when I wanted to watch tv as I got dressed my neck felt sore with the strain!. when I asked at check in where I could eat that night I was told in the bar or room service. The main restaurant was not mentioned - maybe they didnt want to encourage a woman on her own to eat there! I ate elsewhere that night.The location was fantastic but not being able to drive my car to the hotel or get the carpark hotel directions from my blackberry meant that it was a real hassle.

wedding weekendWe had a great weekend at the Leopold Hotel, all staff were very helpful and friendly and attentive during the wedding of my son. Thank you all concerned.

Great hotel, right in the centre of the city in the newly developed Leopold Square. Elegantly finished hotel with a definite charm about it. Stayed in a standard double room which was extremely tastefully decorated and finished with a nice big plasma screen. Really enjoyed the stay and would certainly return again. Parking is off site but only 2 mins walk away in the new Q Park 'cheesegrater' car park just off Arundel gate (dedicated parking zone on level 7, cost is £8 payable at hotel reception when you check out) Didn't eat at the hotel but instead dined at Restaurant 23 in West One complex (adj. to Vodka Revolution) superb food and easy to see why it was voted best in Sheffield in 2008.

May 2009We stayed in the Luxury Suite Double Room which was modern and beautifully finished to a high standard. It was also really clean and the bathroom looked newly fitted. The bathroom was on the downstairs level which was a little inconvenient in the middle of the night, but that's a minor complaint. The room was really noisy at night as it faced out onto the street so it was difficult getting to sleep, but the bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in! The hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to bars and restaurants, and the reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Internet connection wasn't free, which I would have expected in a hotel of this standard, but again this was only a minor problem. I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel, great location.A very comfortable stay, even though we were in a room on the second floor directly above a wedding recepetion disco, and the music was quite loud in our room. Luckily it didn't bother us, as we quite liked the music! But, just a little warning if you want a peaceful evening, check that your room isn't above the functions room, especially on a saturday night.

Great Location, Lovely HotelWe stayed for 1 night and were surpised at how centrally located it was. Room is lovely, modern, clean and bathroom was airy and looked as if it has been newly fitted. Try and stay in a room that does not directly overlook the courtyard as it is quite noisy in teh evening from all the bars and restaurants.

Watch out for rooms on the street sideImpossible to sleep in the rooms that face the road extremely noisy and sound insulation negligible. Had to ask to be moved which the hotel did without any fuss so 10/10 for their immediate response to that. We would stay there again but only if guaranteed a room facing into Leopold Square.
