Their website said renovations would be finished by December 2006. However renovations were in full flight in May 2007. We never found the indoor swimming pool advertised in all their brochures and web site. On a good day during our week from hell one lift would be working which was fine as long as you didn't mind waiting up to 15 minutes for it to arrive and then traveling with at least two workmen and usually a wheelbarrow. On a bad day (we had three of these) the only operating lift did not work for several hours. On the day we booked in one lift was out of service but would be working by the next day we were told however when we booked out a week later it still was not working. The rooms (once we had climbed 9 flights which our luggage were dirty, the bins had not even been emptied. The hotel was noisy day and night. On 4 separate days there was no water at all in the rooms because of renovations. Traveler be ware do not stay here

The hotel was well located and the rooms had recently been renovated. The shower/bathroom is fairly small but very modern. There is no airconditioning in the room as it gets quite warm, however the windows could be opened, but then that leads to noise from the street.I would cetainly stay there again as it was a quick stroll to Salamanca or into the city precinct.

the shower recess was a little small

The rooms are small. The hotel corridor is dark and needs some renovation. When using the evalator, there might be a high risk to get stucked. The room windows does not close properly and you can't sleep due to the street noises (in front of the hotel is one of the main roads). When storing some luggage after checking out, you have to pay 2$ for each piece (even in a five star hotel, this would be a free service).

I would like to say that this hotel was terrible .The room we were in was so small, there was no parking if you came after 10.00pm.We had to park in the street for 2 nights that we stayed. We had booked 2 days and were going to stay another 2 days but were glad to leave after the second day.Our room was untouched on the second day , the beds were not made and no clean towels. We do a lot of traveling and this hotel was one of the worst we stayed in.We dont recommend this hotel.

We could hear the walk signal of the trffic lights going off all night, maybe they should invest thicker window glazing. Otherwise a very nice stay and a top breakfast. recommend

No curtains meant light came into the room all night and also made it noisier than it would have been. The room and facilities were ok and it was central and cheap.

Room was good, bed comfortable but the bathroom was a little small and you ended up with a wet floor after a shower. Having said that I would stay there again. PS, lifts need a refurb.

A great stay and would recommend, but be aware of the noise. Nice rooms, crisp, clean sheets. Try for an executive room rather than standard. Value for money. Close walk to everything. No soundproofing. Traffic can be noisy and had a problem one night with guests next door being rather noisy and inconsiderate after 10pm.

Everything in the room is great except for the tiny shower and no air-conditioning. Fantastic location to the city mall and shopping.

The reception staff wasn't friendly or helpful, you have the impression that the admin in is trying to save every cent as much as the can, we had to pay money for them to storage our baggage after the check out (just 3 hours). The room is very small as well and the lift takes ages to arrive. I won't stay in that hotel again.

1st visit since refurbishment - excellent! We will stay there again. Close to the cityand markets.Good rates, excellent value for money , friendly and helpful staff. Car park is a bit of an issue - very small spaces. Highly recommended for an overnight stay in Hobart. Would be great for corporate guests.
