Le Metropole hotel is a very nice 4 stars de luxe hotel located in a very nice area, founded in 1975 by Italian and Greek architects, resulting in an outstanding example of 18th century architecture. Recently renovated.There are 66 rooms spread across 5 floors in the Metropole Hotel. It offers many services such as air conditioning, bathtub, hairdryer, magnifying mirror, bathrobe, newspaper in the room, direct dial telephone with charge, satellite T.V, safe box, fridge and wireless internet access free of charge. You will also have a table and chair on the balcony, opening windows and baby cot on demand.The reception offers you a variety of services: porter, 1 lift, external parking free of charge, luggage storage, safe box at the reception, laundry and dry-cleaning service, wireless internet free of charge, business center, air conditioned spaces, currency exchange, security service and doctor on call. The restaurant is serves delicious meals and drinks.The conference center is suitable for meetings up to 200 people. All standard business equipments and support services are available upon request.There is a beautiful panoramic terrace and above all friendly service coupled with a welcoming atmosphere.Reservations for the same day won't be taken under consideration if passed after 5:30 pm (GMT Time).

Absolutely wonderful in every respect: service, charm (both the building and the staff), breakfast, beds ..... Don't complain about the noise, as that is what you'll find in every city centre. Everything is on walking distance, and 'Alex' is safe, even at night.

Fantastic hotel. It is a must on our visits to Alexandria. Great staff - especially in the restaurant. Superb breakfast. We are already longing for our next stay in the hotel.

I thought Le Metropole was excellent. A wonderful way to experience Alexandria. It has a very classic feel, the breakfast is good, the staff friendly, and the location is great. It's one block from the cornich and at the intersection of two major roads with lots of stores and restaurants. If I ever return to Alexandria, I will definitely go back. An excellent hotel at a good price.

Generally one of the best deals in town.Small details could be improved-if you have booked seaview you have to insist to get seaview.Internet sporadically failing but mostly working.Pleasant and dedicated staff - clean and well maintained and with nice atmosphere.

This hotel was a bargin for the price. The customer relations staff were excellent in providing information and helping get a fair price for taxis. The lobby was a great place to relax and watch the action on the street. The historic feeling to this hotel is worth the price alone. It had the coolest elevator I've ever seen.

The location of Le Metropole offers magnificent views of the sea at Alexandria, convenient position to walk into old Alexandria and for walks along the corniche. The breakfast was quite extraordinary!

Great 1930's feel that is sumptuous and grand with a staff that are eager to please. Immaculate century old building that is fresh and crisply painted both inside and outside. Some great antiques and a fabulous stained glass painting from 1927 as well as an an old style elevator that works. High ceilings, clean bathrooms, crisp Egyptian cotton and a location in the centre of historic Alexandria make for a great inner city stay near the famous Trianon and Delices patisseries. Just a delight. No resort facilities here, but there is free internet access -- so come for a complete time warp to an era when things were so much grander and evenly paced.

Excellent location downtown and right next to the corniche. Excellent service. Lovely, clean, and spacious rooms with high ceilings. Delicious breakfast. Free Internet connection. The only downside I can think of is the noise and car beeps from the street at night. An ear plug or extra pillow to cover your ear would help tho.

We have no complaints about this hotel at all. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location seemed good although we only really stayed here in order to travel to the war memorial museum and cemetary in Al Alamein - a trip which was very efficiently organised by the staff at the hotel. There weren't a lot of facilities as such but that wasn't what we were after - although the free internet was a bonus! Our stay here was a very short but happy one, and we would certainly recommend it to others.

Truly classy hotel, with excellent location on the Corniche. The place exudes class throughout, from the rooms to the corridors, the reception area and the breakfast room. My only complaint is about noise - whilst the location is great, the hotel is sandwiched by two of the busiest road junctions in Alexandria. The noise from the street is terrible until about midnight. So even if you have a room with a sea view, you need to keep the window shut all the time. Other than that, an excellent stay. The hotel staff is very friendly and the price tag very low considering the quality.

The Metropole is an opulently decorated hotel in a great location. The staff are very pleasant. The only downside is the honking of horns but the view of the corniche and sea is sufficient compensation for this. I'd definitely stay there again.

It has a lovely olde world look - a lick of paint would make it sparkle. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location in central Alexandria, though like most hotels in the centre of large cities, the traffic noise can be a bit disturbing - Egyptian's seem unable to drive without using the horn!

The buffet breakfast was excellent. The food was well presented and laid out on several tables for easy access. The choice of food was superb!

Rooms are very grand, plush and spacious. Came in early to drop my bags off but they let me check in immediately as there was a room free (around 10 am). Traffic noise is a problem but I think this applies to all the hotels in the area.
