Evertything was excellent at this hotel specially the service at the pool and the concierge. Location is great too ! The only thing we did not like was the "appointment" with the Orbitz representative.. When you are on vacation you don't want appointments ..PLEASE !! specially when they try to sell tours and stuff... other than that everything was great !!

It has suchwow factor with all of the marble floors and hall ways. The staff was so accommodating for us. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. They needed another short - order chef at the breakfast buffet for cooking omelets. It was off of the main street hidden back aways, but it was righton the beach. They had a very nice sandy beach with lifeguards. Two separate pools and lots of lounge chairs and lounging cabanas. The cabanas had double bed loungers with the option of pulling a shade over the top when you've had enough sun.

Nice hotel. Clean and not over crowded. We were able to get a room on the non-construction side. I would have preferred to be closer to town so that we could be closer to dining options. Food and drink at hotel is very pricey (not unlike other hotels). We could not locate a breakfast place anywhere near the hotel. Hotel staff very courteous and helpful. Hotel is very secure. The ice machines on our floor (as well as all others floors) were not working. Massage on the beach was awesome. Access to the ocean just a few feet away.

I chose this hotel based on reviews on another travel site and Le Meridien's reputation for excellence and I was not dissapointed. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a wet towel and fruit juice. The bellman helped me with my luggage and explained the layout of the hotel without being asked. Everyone was very helpful and attentive. The hotel is immaculate and beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. The only complaint I have (which isn't anyone's fault) is the construction going on next door. It didn't disturb me any (no real noise to talk about) but just wasn't pleasing to the eye. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone willing to pay for comfort, quality and peace of mind. Happy vacationing!

We just got back from Le Meridien for our honeymoon had an amazing time. First class service, spa, and facilities. We are definitely going back.

Quality. Unexpected surcharge & slow restaurant service. Absolutely beautiful hotel; loved the infinity pools with 3 separate temperatures.

I have been in this hotel many times before, and this year, in june I was charged to use the inalambric internet daily, chairs with umbrella at the pool, extra charge, the fitness room, extra charge, the spa, extracharge, so you need to bring a lot of money extra if you want to use anything else besides the room, the years before I stayed here, all chairs at the pool were free, the fitness room was free, going to the wet areas of the spa, free, but that was BEFORE, now take a lot of extra money to have a great time....

Enjoyed our hotel stay; however, the hotel restaurant food is definitely not worth the price. Fortunately, there are some good restaurants in the area -- some are located in neighboring hotels.

First time in Cancun. We did not know that there was a hotel being built next door - June 09 and therefore notice to future travelers, there is a hotel being built guestimating for another year. Budget deals means ordinary or simplest rooms. Ours was no exception, we got one whose thermostat didnt work and therefore the sheets smelled of mildew, plus on a raining night water dripped throught the window. We were moved and compensated with breakfast for the middle of the night move. Also - we took the bus to different places for food because there is only one nice restaurant in the hotel. The hotel is not on the main street but off the street therefore you had to walk through a slighty creepy street to get to the main road. Positives - the place was empty and therefore we got excellent service, not that we would not have if it were full but common sense says otherwise. Staff was fantastic. Note - if its your first time to Cancun, prices for drinks and food are Vegas-like, i.e., $4 for a can of beer, regular good coffee $3, coffee carafe $8... Overall it was a nice place however next time i might try an all inclusive or a hotel with more restaurants. I am trying not to rip on the hotel because i really liked it - just being honest.

Very elegant. Not much for kids to do other than swim. The facilities and location are breath-taking. The beach area here is one of the best in the hotel zone. The staff is very professional & courteous. The prices for the restaurants on site are a little high; but the quality is superb.

the hotel was superb. The service was wonderful--nice and courteous (pool side service a little slower-but you are reaxing so not as important). The spa and the gym are great. Gym needs better airconditioning, but the equipmet is up to date and kept in good condition.

The fee for internet connection was outrageous - $175.00 for the week. If you want internet connection while on vacation, choose another hotel. Housekeeping kept taking the only two wash cloths provided in the room and not replace them with fresh ones, and they also failed to replenish the coffee. We had to call the front desk daily to ask for washcloths and coffee. Since we can't eat enough to justify the price of the buffet breakfast, we ordered from the menu, which was very limited. Other than that, the hotel was fine, and the staff were very friendly.

Great atmosphere. Nothing. Very polite, attentive and friendly. Much nicer location than many of the other 4 Star properties. It was also right on the beach and had beautiful swimming pools. The rooms were some of the nicest that I have ever stayed in.

This hotel is really nice and the staff was VERY friendly. The only complaint that I heard every person that came down our hallway in the evening/late night. If you sleep hard, you probably wouldn't notice. The facilities are world class.

For full disclosure we got a bargain to stay here ($400 per person for flight from Dallas and 3 nights in May 2009). I say this to remind people that it was cheap and nobody was at the hotel (20% occupancy) or in Cancun (locals consistently said they were getting 50% of the norm). This probably affected my experience (for example: taking a bus downtown didn't seem like a big deal given how empty they were). Good: -Beautiful Rooms -Very nice Shower -Amazing views from balcony -Turn Down Service nightly -Fast Elevators -REALLY good breakfast -Marina and a few VERY good restaurants are only 5-7 minute walk away -Definitely no spring break crowd here (even at busy times) -Very nice concierge Bad -Not walkable to downtown -Rooms don't get very cold even with A/C on full blast 24/7, it was comfy but not "A/C American Style" (this might be a plus to some) -Beach is small -Internet is $25 a day and QUITE SLOW

Nicely kept, rooms are comfortable but decor needs an update. Hotel is very nice overall. Staff not as friendly or welcoming as other high end hotels I have stayed in. The outdoor pools are beautiful, but the pool water was extremely salty. Have had better experiences at other hotels.

The hotel is first class. Service is perfect. Views from room are excellent. I definitely recommend a balcony room as the never have to leave the sound of the ocean. Food was good. Pools are great. Nothing needs improvement.

Best trip we have ever taken!! I booked a last-minute surprise birthday trip for my partner, and the staff at Le Meridien went above and beyond my expectations. We travel frequently as a couple, and have stayed at top of the line hotels on multiple occasions all over the world. By far, this was the best experience we have had. There was no need that the staff did not meet, they respected our privacy but did a great job of anticipating our needs. The staff at St. Trop and the pool were outstanding. We walked in to be greeted by a cold face towel and a mango smoothie during check-in. We spent almost our entire vacation by the pool/beach, and [...] was especially attentive--try the Tornadillo drinks! The cabanas were great, and contrary to some of the other reviews on here, the construction next door was not at all obtrusive, and we got sun all day long. [...] did a great job with deep-tissue massages at the spa as well! The hotel guests were great, and we made several new friends on our trip--I will say that I probably would not suggest this hotel for those with children. I loved it, my partner loved it, and we will be coming back with two other couples in June!

This was our second stay at the Meridien. We would stay again. It's exactly what we want, a quiet, peaceful stay. This is an upscale 5 star property, with excellent service. Rooms are very clean, grounds are very well kept, security is very good. Pool area cannot be beat. Rent a cabana for the day and rest like you are in paradise. Food at the pool is only average, but the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and dinner at the inside restaurant is excellent. The hotel and food and services are quite expensive, so if you are on a tight budget don't stay here. But it's a 5 star resort so expect to pay for what you get. If you want to party or you want cheap, then go somewhere else. If you want a classy upscale stay and you are not afraid to spend money, this is the place for you. Try the spa, my wife raved about it.
