We checked into this hotel after a bad experience with the neighborhood of the Kube hotel. We were very happy with a hotel that obviously knows the needs of business and leisure travels. Though there is nothing charming about the hotel, it offers all the typical amenities and services of a 4 star "American Style" hotel, which can be difficult to find in Paris. For the rate (below 200 Euros) we were VERY happy. I would not pay more than 350 ish.

Convenient and safe location. Quality of room. The room hadn't been updated since the '80s. The lobby was attractive and active, but beyond that, this hotel was so far from 5 star. I tried on many occasions to get in touch with someone through Guest Services and only got a busy signal no matter the time. The Concierge desk was helpful, though, with my questions. Bed and bedding were extremely disappointing.

Overall it's good but would prefer they have wifi access inside the room, even at a charge.

I stayed at Le Meridien for a week with a friend. We were happy with the room (comfortable, large, clean) and the staff were very helpful. The bathroom was clean, lots of hot water. Housekeeping staff did a great job of cleaning up after us. There was a mini-bar in the room which we used to refrigerate the water, juice and foods we bought at the nearby Monoprix store (Rue du Depart). Don't drink at the hotel bar (15 E for a cocktail !). There's free safe deposit boxes at the front desk and free in-room safes. No reason to eat in the overpriced hotel restaurant, there's lots of great cafes in the area; avoid the restaurants next to the hotel, they're tourist traps. We especially liked "The Blue Buoi" cafe on the Blvd de Vaugirard (on the opposite side of the Montparnasse train station). The Metro station is across the street in the Gare Montparnasse and it connects three Metro lines which will take you just about anywhere you want to go. The Air France airport shuttle (22 E round trip) stops directly across the street from Le Meridien. Trust me, it's the fastest and most convenient way to get from CDG to the hotel after a long flight. Le Meridien was a great hotel for us because of its location to the Metro and because it wasn't in a heavy "tourist" area. The hotel was full of Japanese and North American tour groups but since we didn't eat there, it wasn't a problem. This hotel would be good for families (get connecting rooms) and anyone who isn't expecting a luxury hotel. I've stayed at other Starwood Hotels (Westin and Sheratin) and Le Meridien is only a 2 star hotel (not a 4 star as advertised).

First of all, I was on my honeymoon and this seemed to be more of a business hotel, so I wasn't into the vibe. The lobby was constantly filled with stewardesses and convention-goers, and I would have preferred something a little more cozy. I couldn't know that based on the descriptions, though. The amenities, I felt, were sorely lacking compared to U.S. hotels in the same price range. They say there is free wifi in the lobby and on the first floor, but it's ad-driven and would drop your connection every 5-10 minutes and you have to go find/click on a new ad. Ethernet in the rooms is $25/day... RIDICULOUS. NO breakfast whatsoever. There's a gym but it's only open 7am-10pm, and I was never able to check it out. I think the worst part was the lack of blankets/sheets. Our room had one light comforter, and that was it. We had a lot of trouble reaching a compromise where we could both be reasonably comfortable. Perhaps they provide extra bedding on request but I didn't see why I should have to go begging for a blanket. It was only about 64 degrees tops when we were there and there were some chilly nights despite the thermostat. My husband complained about hearing the Metro constantly even though we were about 9-10 floors up. Overall the staff was very, very nice, and it was a nice enough atmosphere, just not what we were looking for. The juxtaposition of insanely expensive restaurants with the lack of simple breakfast items, internet access, and bedding showed misplaced priorities.

Nice lobby, friendly desk agent. Concierge unhelpful, bathroom was horribly turquoise - seemed very outdated. This hotel was well located, adjacent to good shopping and a metro stop. The guest rooms were very outdated and the bed was very uncomfortable, especially for a four-star hotel. The bathrooms especially were old, and the toiled smelled as though it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time.

My wife and I were spending a week in Paris. We had a superb stay at this hotel. The rooms were nice ? good size and clean, a little worn ? but clean and tidy. The room service was excellent. Most of the staff was very helpful, all the staff spoke English and if they could not say something / understand something they made every effort to help. The only problem was location. The hotel is not a walking distance from any of the popular tourist destinations; you can barely see any of major attractions from any of the rooms ? even the ones that are high up. However the area itself was not bad, a few blocks away there was a circle with movie theaters and restaurants/shops that were open 24 hrs a day. To get to just about anywhere - you could walk to a metro in 3-5 mins, bus stops were 3-5 mins walk and a cab ride to most of the major tourist attractions was 9-12 euros (12/07). We never felt unsafe in the vicinity of the hotel at any time day/night. All things considered, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel was great. Rooms were large and clean. Room service was quick. Concierge service was very good. Arranged trip to Normandy for my husband and myself. Also, we had a very early flight out of Paris and the concierge arranged for a cab to be waiting for us at 5:00 a.m. Staff spoke English so language was not a problem. The only disappointment would be the distance from local Paris sites. I thought that we would be able to walk to Notre Dame and Eiffel Tower. No way. However, we quickly found the train station across from the hotel. We figured out how to get where we wanted to be via the metro. Also, the open air tourist bus was a great way to get all around Paris. I felt the area we were in was probably geared more for the business traveler vs. the vacationer.

This was our first trip to Paris so we didn't know much about the city before arriving there. We were happy to learn that Le Meridien Montparnasse is located close to the Metro and RER stations. It made getting around the city very convenient and made our trip back to the airport quite pleasant (the Air France bus stops right across the street from the hotel, leaves every half hour and is quite reasonably priced). Our room at the hotel was not luxurious but was apparently larger than the average Parisian hotel room. It was clean and well maintained. We would recommend it to travelers to Paris.

Very convenient to Gare Montana's and Metro. Plenty of restaurants near by. More of a commercial & transient area. Not typically of what one thinks of when one thinks of Paris. Very clean and convenient hotel. Kind staff. Neighborhood not too romantic but a great starting off point to explore the city.

I had occasion to stay late July-Early August of 2007 and found the hotel very good. Service, room quality, meals, and all staff were exceptionally cooperative and helpful. The overall experience was great with the one drawback I found being its location. Everything was a 8 euro cab ride away.....Eiffel, Louvre, etc....all took some getting to and we felt as if we were staying a bit out of the loop. I do recommend the property for its excellent quality and exceptional staff- just be prepared to cab or metro around and plan 30 minutes to be where you need to go.

I had a very good sleep in the hotel. They have comfortable beds and a quiet location. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. I have been impressed how easily I could get there from the airport and back.I would like they had bigger rooms and beter price.

This hotel was a very nice one. The staff was very welcoming. The only thing I didn't like was the dinning restaurant on site was a bit pricey. So we dinned outside of the hotel. Otherwise a great choice and I would stay there again.

The lobby and free WiFi in the lobby were nice. The room has dated decor and the fitness facility could have been better. Nice hotel, good location for business travelers and tourists.

"the exterior and the interior of the hotel look very nice, however, the overall room wasn't too clean compare with the look of the hotel. It was very converience to the train and metro station. It was also very convenience with eating out within the hotel area. "

Le Meridien Montparnasse was a great hotel. Great room with all the amenities for the price. We would definitely stay there again. The people were nice and very helpful. Overall, it was outstanding.
