The room, view and bed. Spotty service, unprofessional staff, no wireless. I wanted to like this hotel, but other than the concierge, I don't have much good to say. The doorman was so busy chatting up the valet that we opened our own doors and got our own cabs. The front desk, housekeeping and bellman didn't answer their phones, none for 10 minutes, forcing us to go down in person to get service. Two shabby towels, one robe, after a call, a 2nd robe was delivered, with a hole in the shoulder. One washcloth. Towel replacements seemed random. Amenities not replaced. On the 6th day we Q tips and cotton balls magically appeared for the first time. Used bar glasses not replaced. However, all the calls we made to get missing items gave the staff an opportunity to get tips. After the third day I wondered if that were purposeful. We've stayed in many hotels all over the world, this is the most unprofessional operation I've seen. Greasy tasting fries at the restaurant but waiter and room service staff was excellent at special needs.

1. SWIMMING POOL - It is surprised that there is NO swimming pool facility in this ranked 5 star hotel. 2. PHONE CALL CHARGES - The hotel billed me 14 minutes for a long distance call to Berkeley CA the day before whereas I only called for 53 seconds. I questioned about the time but the staff told me the time was captured by system which should be correct. The person I called at his mobile arrived at hotel that afternoon and was able to show the call record... 53 seconds. Though the hotel aplogized and waived the call charges, I was not happy for such a mistake made by the so-called 5 star hotel's computer system. 3. BREAKFAST - It's surprised that NO complimentary breakfast is provided.

The Staff was excellent. We got upgraded o the19th floor. It was very quiet up there. The only downside was the toilet that rocked. They said it would be fixed.

We arrived at the hotel before the alloted time to check in but the front desk checked us in as the room was ready. They were very helpful and accommadating. the location was perfect for going downtown or to the wharf and taxi's were readily available all of the time. The concierge desk was always available and very helpful in arranging a rental car for us and directions to restaurants. this hotel is next to the Federal Reserve Bank and one block from the Transamerica building. We would definately stay here again.

The Hotel appeared to be fairly new and in good condition. Good view of the bay from "Executive" (3rd level) room. A bit disappointed with Hotel's practice of offering discretionary complimentary upgrades as I also reserved a basic "Deluxe" (1st level) room for my parents and they ended up with the same size room with the same view, 2 doors down the hall for a lower price. So, I didn't see the point of paying extra for the "Executive" room. Also, when checking in the desk clerk said I was getting a "Supreme" (2nd level) room and after I showed him my receipt for an "Executive" room, he said he was wrong initially and that it was actually an "Executive" room that I was getting. So, I have no idea if I actually got what I paid for in the first place. No coffee makers in the room. They have complimentary coffee, but you have to go downstairs to the lobby to get it. Room cleaning was fair. There was only one bathrobe in the closet when reservation was for two people. Only one sink in the bathroom and a combination shower/bathtub instead of separate so takes a little longer for a couple to get ready to go. Parking was over $50 per night which is outrageous, but apparently the going rate in San Francisco. Bed was very comfortable and they have wonderful oversized pillows. After reading user reviews, I expected more than I actually received so I was a little disappointed.

Good location, clean, comfortable andupscale hotel. Front desk was unresponsive, did not follow-up. A very nice upscale hotel in a great location. A modest exterior leads to an upscale lobby. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Restaurant is upscale but pricey. Wait staff is excellent. Unfortunately the front desk personnel are consistently unreliable and do not follow-up on requests or commitments. It took a half day on the phone with accounting to get my bill correct.

Went for Christmas. Great views of bay and bridge. Wonderful access to everything. Walking distance to all trolleys. Short walk from financial district to union square. Short walk to bart and muni which takes you anywhere - even the airport - faster than driving or taxi. Large comfortable room & beds. Room service food good and quick. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - however, they recommended a $125 per meal /per person restraunt (AQUA)without checking to see if it was in our budget - we were quite surprised when we got there. There were other very good more reasonable places in the area (try Tadisch).

The staff at le meridien are amazing. Extremely helpful. The rooms are pretty nice, and the hotel is in a good area. Very close to embarcadero, and also very close to the cable car system. maybe a 20min walk to the warf. Both check-in staff and housekeeping were fantastic. would definitely stay there again.

Our room was heaven. The bed was like a cloud. We were on the 13th floor if you believe that. I didn't think there was a 13th floor in hotels. We followed other review recommendations like parking across the street and eating somewhere else. After seeing the prices we were glad we did. With the room price we paid the hotel has to make money some how. Of course we can't say if the food was good or not now. Only a couple of small things were off. One the fan in the bathroom quit working. I'm sure we could have got another room if we had bothered to ask. The other is that the window curtains wouldn't close all the way. About a 4 inch gap. It was designed that way. After a night of debauchery we needed to sleep in late and the sun wouldn't let us. We needed some pins or clamps or something which we didn't have. But I've got to say overall that it was a good experience, good location, great staff and that we will be back.

We usually stay in Union Square when we go to SF, but decided on this hotel for a change. What a great place! We will definitely stay here again. It is a ten minute walk from North Beach, Union Square and environs, but so much quieter than Union Square. Right across the street from Embarcadero Center, and a quick walk to the Ferry Plaza. BART is nearby, as is the California Street cable car. Couldn't have been happier. And the staff is outstanding: very friendly and helpful, and always with a smile.

The proximity of the hotel to the Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach and surrounding neighborhood made for lots of walking. Our dog loved it...after he got used to the elevator... The staff was not only welcoming of us but of our dog too. The room was spacious and spotless. Any request was met with a very positive attitude. We found that most restaurants, in addition to those listed as "dog friendly," with outside seating welcomed dogs.

I loved the location, the staff, the room and bedding. The staff was extremely nice and always helpful. The bedding was crisp, soft and very comfortable. I would definetly stay in this hotel when I visit San Francisco and seek out any Le Meridien in any city I visit in the future.

Like the doormen that open the door for you - very helpful when taking a bike in and out. Elevators had a great scent and sound experience - really liked that!

We enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien so much it would be one of the reasons for us to return to San Francisco. The bed & duvet were the most comfortable we had encountered outside of our own home. The location on Battery St. allowed us the opportunity of a good walk along the Embarcedero to Pier 39 one way or to the shops & restaurants at Union Square the other. This hotel definetely made our recent stay in San Francisco a 10.
