There is only one bank of elevators located at one end of the hotel- to get to the beach or the pools it was quite a walk if you were at the other end. If you are an active adult there are many stairs. If you are handicapped it will be a challenge. The staff is excellent. Our air conditioning was inadequate for the time of the year. Be aware that June, July, and August are hot and humid!!

The design and style. The pool restaurant, the food prices. The building is awesome, great location, clean, beautiful beach and view.

We had a really good time here, the private beach was very nice. We had a little trouble with our resevation and I was on the phone with travelocity when the hotel got them straightened out. The food at hotel can add up quick. We ate at Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo a lot and the taxi rides are reasonable about 50 to 70 pesos.

hotel boasts private beach only accessible by evelator...and what a great beach it is! nice sand and a great view on a private beach...my only complaint, which wasnt a deal breaker for me but was for my gf, was the ocean off this beach. it was pretty rough...it knocked her about pretty good. unless your a strong swimmer youre better off at the pool. which could have been cleaner but it is surrounded by trees so its pretty tough to keep clean. grounds are really nice and all rooms have views and hammocks on their own terraces. room was really clean and staff helpful and friendly.

We read the other reviews and were concerned about the comments made by people about the beds being too hard and the beach being a long walk. Well, they must have replaced the beds because they were as comfortable and clean as any 5 star hotels in the US. The beach is private and the gardens that lead to the beach are amazing. We found if you do not like to walk they have an elevator that takes you right to the beach. Every room has a stunning view of the ocean. Service was great. Staff was friendly and spoke English. The Breakfast buffet made my entire family happy. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to go to Ixtapa. We would not stay anywhere else in the future.

Stayed at the Las Brisas in Ixtapa, Mexico for 6 nights. Gorgeous views from room balconey (we were on 19th floor). The beach area was beautiful just a short elevator ride to access it. Ample beach chairs and umbrellas available for free at both the beach and pool areas. Room was very well appointed and clean. Parking and valet service was free. Only complaints - very hard mattress and noise levels at night (due to tile floored hallways, all sounds are incredibly amplified and echoed). All in all, a beautiful property.

Beautyful, Clean, Friendly. Flat screen TV, but no free music .No Clock , any where. Our room incluced continatial breakfeast, Ok... There was mini bar, but 4.00 for a pot of coffee ? Beer 5.50 per bottle. Food ok, but very costly. Snack bar not a bargin. When it was open. 4.00 to get to Ixtapa, 1 way, but the hotel did not want you to bring in food or beverage. Gift shop 4.00 for a pack of poker cards. Staw hat at gift shop 35.00. Temp was good, 85-74 in March. No rain. Seems many Mexicans go to vacation here, if that tells you something. Older group of people. No night life that I could see. Peacefull, but once was enough.

We were disappointed that the hotel did not acknowledge our 40th wedding anniversary. I mentioned it when we checked in and numerous times after. I even went to the front desk and asked if the hotel did any thing special for anniversaries. But still nada!! 40 Years should received some sort of recognition, don't you think!!!!

This was our third trip to this hotel over a 25-yr period. The positive experience and quality of service remains outstanding. We'll return again. You'll rarely find such a beautiful private beach. All rooms have balcony views of the ocean. The staff is without exception most helpful and courteous. Highly recommend the Beach Club option which provides a continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Don't miss dining under the stars at the Las Brisas II restaurant at the hotel or the nearby Villa de la Selva. This restaurant, set in a cliff overlooking the Pacific, has one of the most spectacular settings you'll find anywhere in the world! Make your reservation 45 min. before sunset!

Location - Las Brisas is located on a tropical mountian side surrounded by jungle, flowers, cacti, and coconut trees. We even see iguanas in the morning! It is just about a four minute walk to the private beach (if you take the elevators). Beach - We loved the beach. It is probably the cleanest beach and most relaxing beach in Ixtapa (eks-stop-pa). The surf is a little rough (which we enjoy) and makes for great pictures. Rooms - The rooms are amazing! Perfect view of the ocean and the maid even leaves flowers. Great TV. Pillows are down and very soft. Walk-in shower is perfect for washing away beach sand. There is an echo in the hallway so noises can be loud, but it wasn't loud enough to bug us. Service - Great service! Everyone speaks English and they are very helpful. We always felt welcomed. They treat you like royality! In the hotel there is a cigar shop, gift shop, beach shop, a tours and activities center and more! There is also a business center, but you can get free WiFi right outside. Rooms are supposed to have WiFi but we had problems with ours. Price - The room prices are outstanding but the food and drink prices are a little high (about $3-$4 for a beer). I recommend the Brisas Beach Club (no children allowed) as the breakfast and cocktails with appetizers were very satisfying for us.

Utter luxury Its seclusion on a perfect beach a bit away from town is both a good point and a bad.

The hotel was beautiful, people were friendly, cool patio with hammock and an awesome beach!!! The only complaint we had were that the beds were very hard....until our last night when we got to the market, went to the ATM and found out the hotel was holding over $500, which was our money for the last night. We called the bank and they said Las Brisas was holding all of this money. After walking all the way back to the hotel, we talked to the front desk and they said they only authorized $300 dollars to be held in case of room charges, and there was nothing they could do. So on our last night we could do nothing but sit in the hotel room. They would not reimburse us for anything or give us any kind of compensation for the trouble they caused by holding all of the extra money, not even a taxi to the airport. They connected me to the bank from the front desk, but still said they could not do anything for us EVEN THOUGH THE BANK TOLD THEM that there was more being authorized than what they said...Beautiful though it may be, I will NOT stay at this hotel again!!!!!!!!

The hotel is beautiful, private beach, private clean rooms with beautiful views, nice showers. Beds are rock hard, but deal with it, you're in Mexico. Do NOT dine at the overpriced restaurants that offer mas o menos cuisine and wine marked up 500%. Sneak in snacks because they are happy to replenish your bar with 4 sodas, coffee and candy bars, etc. Do NOT make phone calls from the room or use their t.v. internet. Look at your final bill when checking out. They slap on some donation fee without your consent, hoping you won't catch it, and make a big deal to rerun the bill to take it off:)

Everything was so wonderful, it was the best hotel stay in my life. Being a bit isolated from town is a plus and a minus - $5 cab to go anywhere. The large terraced balconies were totally private and gave the most beautiful views of the ocean I could imagine. The breakfast buffet every day rivaled a top Las Vegas Sunday buffet. I would have liked the drive-up experience to be more beautiful - the hotel is a bit stark from the outside. I have never had so many staff so attentive!

The hotel is located in hte middle of the forrest, but in front of the sea... the view was great, and the room was it also. The hotel is bigger than regular hotels, but offers many amenities. The food is expensive, but there are a lot of options in town that are cheaper.

We visited with another couple. The staff was very helpful and the accomodations were superb--the room/bathroom/balcony were the best we've ever stayed in. beautiful view from room. We were Beach Club guests--well worth the $$. We met several other couples who became our friends. The daily cont. breakfast and happy hour suffice for at least 1 meal/day. Food/drink cost at hotel is expensive so you more than make up the additional cost. Great dinner restaurants near hotel. The town of Ixtapa is a 20-min walk--great exercise. Good shopping and restaurants. If you're looking for activities and action like all-inclusive and other resorts, this is not the place for you. It's more for R&R. We would definitely recommend/return to this hotel
