B&B ExperienceOwner not available at the B&B. To call the owner you need to ring her on her mobile !!!. Not enough parking. No fans in the hot day of almost 32degrees. Tea and coffee missing in the room. Over all not a good experience.

OK but could be a lot better with a few small changesThe Lantern House is nice enough. The drawbacks were a traffic-ridden street outside the room window, having to be out of the room by 10am for it to be cleaned, and breakfast no later than 8:30am. Pluses for the price are its location near the city center, free wifi, and no surcharge on credit cards. Simple but effective improvements would be breakfast until 10am, check-out/room cleaning until noon, and some kind of shutters on the windows.

Lovely stay in a well situated locationThe Lantern B&B is about a 15-20 min walk to the Kings Parade and 5minutes from the river. This made its location a very convenient base to investigate Cambridge from for the price advertised. The room was tidy and the breakfast was superb, and our hosts were welcoming.

I felt a bit like Papillon in the room with the number of spiders keeping me company. The bathroom in particular was unclean with numerous cobwebs and mould on the showerhead. This room was only suitable for someone who has just returned from a French penal colony.

Friendly, helpful, bed comfortable, decor immaculate, tea etc provided, reasonably convenient to city centre. Next to a road, but the noise wasn't bothersome.

Nice experience in CambridgeI stayed in Lantern House for night. The room was spacious and clean and I appreciate the little table in the room which I can have a cup of tea looking out of the window. Breakfast is delicous and staff there very friendly and helpful. It's a quiet place and only about 15 to 20 mins walk to the city centre. Good value for money.

Fine for one night but room 2 was a little bit jaded and a bit small for a couple with very few surfaces to put things down on, even the kettle had to be used on the floor! Small improvements like an extra table and a coat hook on a door would help. Service friendly.

The room was lovely. But the hotel staff not very flexible. We needed to leave before 8.30.Unknown until our arrival breakfast on a saturday doesn't start til 8.30.We asked if we could have something quick 15mins earlier and it was not possible. The door to the dining room was kept locked til dead on 8.30.Never experienced this before.
