[...]the hotel had not been remodeled since 1982 and when the did the remodel they used the cheapest materials they could find most likely left over from other projects nothing matched the front door frame was rotted and the screws were backing out from the bottom hinge the security lock on the door was useless the way the fram was rotted the matress felt like it was stuffed with straw the bathroom window had a peice of pvc pipe wedged in it so nobody could break in [...] the tile was never sealed or cleaned there were several peices that were broken or missing at the sliding glass door going on to the balcony the sliding glass door was hard to open the carpet felt like it was covered with suntan oil popcorn was falling off the ceiling the elevator was the slowest in the world and lets not forget the clientel [...]

The location was awesome - the beachfront spectacular. All of the rooms are oceanfront with balcony. Lots of shops in and close to the hotel. Roof top dining was nice, although the food could have been better. The beachfront was spectacular - clean and close by. Walking into town was only about 2 blocks with plenty of restaurants and shops. I will definitely plan another stay at this hotel.

THE ROOM SERVICE LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED. ONE DAY BEDS WERE NOT MADE. ANOTHER DAY ONLYTWO TOWELS LEFT AND NOTHING ELSE.. rESTAURANT: EVENING MEAL WAS EXCELLENT, HOWEVER, WHEN THE BILL FOR THE EVENING WAS RECEIVED IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE 2>00 FOR ICE FOR A SCOTCH ON TNE ROCKS. 2.00 EMBARRISING.

this hotel has a nice location.didn't have to move my vehicle for two days.this building should have been razed years ago! A total dive.

The view from the balcony - magnificent. The beds were not so great. The staff I came into contact with were polite and informative. The hotel is in within walking distance of many beach restaurants, shops and a pier. It's a bit old, but the view is spectacular.

My boyfriend and I opted to stay here for a romantic getaway for our one year anniversary. Big mistake. This hotel might be perfect for partiers but for anyone else this hotel was just scary. It was no kept up, it was dirty, uncomfortable and the crowd was a little rough. There is garbage and trash everywhere, there was still sand all over the floor when we checked in, there were holes in the ceilings, the furniture was falling apart. Do not stay here. It is the biggest rip off. Better off staying at a smaller hotel for 50 in the ghetto than at the Lani Kai.

How deceptive looking online. Nice rooftop restaurant, too bad the loud head pounding beach music lasting from noon until 2am took away from truly nice location and good room size with beachfront balcony. Plenty of entertainment though.... bar, music, screaming college kids so tell all your friends, kids, nephews etc It's the PARTY HOTEL. Not for couples or families.

It was beach front property, we love the beach. It seemed old, dirty, no security, anyone off the street has access to the room floors. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in my age category. I was embarrassed to say I stayed there. When people in Marco Island asked where we stayed in Ft Myers, I avoided answering.

A nice hotel for the money. A fun beach. A great location right in the heart of Ft Myers Beach. We found it to be clean, safe and walking distance to everything. We didn;t need our car at all. Its just fine for a weekend in FMB.

I would reccommend this hotel to anyone who likes a fun beach hotel. This place has a setting that can only be describe as it's own Boardwalk Amusements. From the beachside restaurant that serves beach type food(try the chicago dog!) to the rooftop full service dining where you can eat in gliders around the beach-view perimeter, music,djs,and beach sports abound. The downstairs beachfront bar is the center of activity with a live band, karoke,and a DJ. While we were there we watched a limbo contest,singing contest,and various soap opera type connections and a wonderfull chilrens play area all from our balcony. If you are looking for quiet do not go here.I do not mean to say our sleep was interupted as it was not,but the music is constant.

It was right on the beach. The people hanging about were not my style, lot's of tattoos, bikers and rednecks. Nice place for the money - hope you like bikers hanging around.

Quite honestly my husband and I never even made it inside the hotel room. We cancelled our reservations upon pulling in the parking lot. So I truthfully can't speak to the quality of the interior of the hotel. However, if it anything like the outside it was a dump. This hotel caters to spring breakers. They appear to encourage partying. There was music blaring from the hotel, a huge sign out front that said "Party Central" and drunk college kids everywhere. It just looked trashy. If this hotel wants to encourage this type of activity then they should advertise in the hotel description. My husband and I were looking for a nice quiet place to relax. We were trying to find peace after an extremely difficult time in our lives. This was NOT the place!! Do NOT stay here unless you are looking to stay at party central.

The hotel seems to cater to the spring break young rowdy crowd. If you are looking for loud, very loud music, loud enough to have to set the tv at max volume to hear it inside the room with the doors closed. An abient aroma of stale beer, dirty ash trays with just a touch of urine and vomit. Plenty of shouting and screaming till dawn. Fights breaking out in adjacent rooms. Dancing on the beach which seemed to emulate primates copulating. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! The building itself appeared run down, however it was freshly painted and attemps at keeping the area clean were obvious if not effective.The location is great, the beach is awsome, local restaurants and sidewalk cafes were good. Not exactly what we had in mind, but made the best of it and enjoyed the local atmosphere 200 yards down the road from the hotel.

This is a great hotel for 20 year olds, the Hotel has 3 bars and is very busy on the weekends with young people from the community. The hotel is not new by any means and upkeep of the hotel is fair. They do keep the grounds clean, but the rooms could use some help. We checked in late on Saturday night and the bouncer that was at the front of the driveway was not helpful and the office is on the 1st floor, not the ground floor.

Hottest spot for spring breakers on Fort Myers Beach. Too expensive for the quality of the room. I've been going to Lani Kai for over 10 years is by far the best place for spring break on Fort Myers Beach, people going on spring break would be very happy with Lani Kai. Not very family friendly this time of year!

Would never stay at this dump again, we would sleep in the car and that would be nicer than this place.The hotel is really dirty and not maintained, the parking lot attendant is also the maintenance man so that should be an indication of how Management spends money,There was so much noise that first night that there was a number of people that checked out the following day, we complained at 2:20 AM to the desk to no avail,in the morning I went to the front desk and the night mgr. said that he sent security and the noise stopped which I told him was a total lie that the noise continued till 4:30.The next 2 nights were no t much better.Beware of this DUMP!!!!!!!!!!

It was right on the ocean. This hotel is perfect for the very young spring break traveler who is looking for sun, drinking, and a lot of loud music. Not for families who are looking for something a little more subdued, and family orientated.

I really am not a person who complains, but I feel the need to advise you of my experience I had with the hotel Lani Kai Beachfront @ Fort Myers Beach Fla.This was not my first trip to Fort Myers Beach my family & I go around the same time every year, our family live in the surrounding area this was a special year because we celebrated my fathers 80th B'day. My room was a complete disaster, the first day we did not have hot water, second day we did not have air conditioning, the maintenance man told us there was nothing wrong with it, another day they shut the water off I was in the middle of taking a shower. The room was filthy, my reasoning for not complaining is I was completly out of options there was not another hotel to be had, we were at the end of spring break, and all rooms were accounted for my family could not accomdate us because we have a very large family and they did not have the room, as I previously stated we were celebrating an 80th B'day.The house keepers were very accomodating, the front desk staff are not very knowledgeable. The key cards were not working.
