Location is great and easy to get to. Lobby is nicely decorated for the holiday. Staff is personable, friendly and professional. Condition of the rest of the place is not so good, however. Needs a complete overhaul. Paint, new ceiling tiles, lighting, room decor, condition of bathrooms, all what you'd expect in a 1 star hotel.

Hotel was ok for the most part. When we 1st arrived we found we had no face towles, on the 2nd day we found them, but the following day, we were missing them again. Both pools were very cold and was told that the heaters were not working. The kiddie pool and spa was closed. Trays with leftover meals were left in hallways for more than a full day. Outside my door, it looked like someone got sick and was not cleaned up to well. There are no elevators, only steps and some ramps. A lot of walking is needed to go anywhere. The bar inside was stuffy and the drinks cost more than the pool bar. I did love the pool bar, was a great place to relax. All the rental bikes were broken. It seems that this hotel carters to groups with conventions more than family. The location of the hotel is good. Right in the middle of most places to go. Workers were helpful and friendly. Would I stay again? most likly no, there are many other hotels in the area that looked better.

This hotel had it's good points and bad. The lobby was very nice, but I my husband being handicapped the lobby was oddly accessible the parking spots were small making difficult to get out of the car. The handicap access was not clearly marked and not easly accessible from the one side of the parking lot. To get to my room I had to go down 4 steps walk 25 feet then go up 5 steps to the hall way of rooms. The rooms were nice clean,. The mattresses was older, the sheets were old and well worn not thick weave which was disappointing. The wall were thin and I could hear people going up and down the hall all night. None of the staff told us kids eat free, we heard from another guest during our stay. The inside kids area "fun zone" was very new and nice the fun play area my 4 year old loved, the 3 mac computers did 1 worked 2 did not work . For us the pool is very important with kids and we look for that in a hotel. The inside pool was disappointing, it was extremely cold refilled the day prior to the 4th of july, and the heat was not turned on so it was cold as ice. Plus a weird platform in the pool with rust spouts sticking out, the slope of the pool depth got very deep quickly, so not great for the smaller kids. Also the inside pool area, had standing water were the pool deck need to be repaired and leveled with concrete- the standing water was kind of gross. The had rules for a hot tub inside but no hot tub was present. The entire pool area need to be redone. The outside pool area was in transition stating a new pool play area was going in 2010. I don't think it would be my 1st choice or a return choice of hotel. For the cost of the stay I would have been happier at a more proven hotel chain.

Overall the hotel was good. There were lots of activities although we did not take advantage of all. The outdoor pool was really nice. The pool bar was nice, and there were always towels . The new childrens playroom "kidzone" was a great hit with my 3 year old. We walked the grounds around the golf course (beautiful). The location was great. We checked out sights in the area without burning lots of time or gas. The room was comfortable and clean. The wifi was a plus. I brought my pda and had not trouble connecting.The kids eat free which was also a bonus. On the downside, the whirlpool and childrens pool were not operational which was disappointing. The on-site dining is not great. The steaks for both my husband and I were not done as ordered. The service at the breakfast was slow and the food as fair at best , but there were lots of choices. I would definetely return, but pass on the on-site dining.

To start off the staff was not the best. But I think the best part of my whole stay their is that it was a school trip so we woke up at 6:30 and didn't come back untill 10:30 at night. At first look the beds look pretty comfortable. But as you start rolling aroud in the bed all of the sheets move with you. Every morning we woke up and went to breakfast. I thought it was gross, yes a huge variety but not the best tasting. So heres a tip: save you money and go out to breakfast!!!!!!!!!!! The first day it made me throw up. so the rest of the trip I ate nothing at breakfast. I also know of many people on that same trip that say it either made them feel sick or throw up. In all it looks nice, and it is nice except for the breakfast, the rooms and the staff. In my opinion and in your best interest do not stay here unless it is and emergency or just and over nighter, and another thing as you walk into the room you see two bottles of what looks to be complimentary Dasani water. But as you read the fine print if you consume even a sip of this water you will be charged 2 dollars on your final bill. So what im trying to say is save your money, go out to breakfast, bring a sleeping bag, birng lots of water or don't even stay here.

The hotel was conveniently located near the Lancaster area attractions, and was only 45 minutes from Hershey. The outdoor pool was nice and the evening movies at poolside were enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was good, but they did not change the choices from day to day. Although it was family friendly overall, we get a noise complaint. My daughter's, age 12 and 16, meet two other girls, also age 12 and 16, and the girls were giggling in our room for no more than 15 minutes around 11pm. I know it was kind of late, but they were not yelling or destructive in any way when security knocked on the door. I thought this was a bit much. The carpeting in the hall was very stained, and people left garbage, and utilized room services outside their doors that did not get picked up for hours. Our room had a view of the roof, not very attractive, however, the overall cost for the stay was reasonable.

The staff was very nice. The room was clean. No shampoo in the bathroom. Window was below a deck. The staff was very nice and the room was pleasant the location we were in was not very nice. Also there should be some quiet hours in the hallways - there was a dance competition going on and people were yelling and banging the room doors till after 2. Portion of food for my dinner was small but the overall price was good.

I spent the weekend here for the Lancaster Quilt show this year. I read previous reviews and was concerned - however I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable and no problem with service. I would definitely stay again.

the rooms are of comfortable size with the exception of a refrigerator it had every other amenities you expect to find in a room. its location is excellent to shopping, to dinning, to entertainment and recreation attraction.

I would recommend this hotel to people who are traveling with their families with children. The room wasn't the best but clean and the carpets in the hallways definately looked like they need a shampoo. However, the hotel has a wonderful playroom that my 2 year old coudn't get enough of. There was also a movie playing in the play room for older children and 3 computers set up which I thought was excellent! My son who is older went swimming in the pool while they were showing a movie by the pool around 9pm. There is also a smaller indoor pool. There is a nice bar by the pool where adults can hang out and have a nice cocktail while the kids are swimming. We visited Dutch Wonderland across the street which was absolutely wonderful!! We will definately visit again next year. While on vacation, the kids want to stay up late and this hotel provided things for them to do after coming from the amusement park.....

We booked a King room. Got to our room and it had two double beds, I called the front desk and was told that they had no King beds available even though that is what I booked and had my comfirmation to prove that. They gave me no satisfaction. The room was very musty smelling, the A/C controls did not work. There were no pictures on the walls, no head boards on the beds. No drapes on the windows just cheap mini blinds. The sink counter in the bathroom was broken and slopped to the left. To top it all off we had a huge POLE in the middle of the room. The furniture was old and out dated. NOT what I expected for the price of 159 a night! This was a stop over on our way to Atlantic City and am very thankful it was for one night only!The entire hotel looks as though it hasn't been updated in many many years. I do have to say that it was clean and quiet but that is the ONLY positive comment I can make. There are TONS of hotels in this area so do yourself a favor and stay at one of those - the HOST Resort is NOT a resort at all.

over all we like the hotel. It was in a perfect locations. Lot of things to do around the area.Will definetly stay again. I just didn't like when we checked in. The gentlemen was on the phone through out the whole check in process.

Location. It was dingy and needed major repairs. Hotel was extremely large and very disappointed in the room quality. I took my son to stay at a college and had to stay at a hotel. Walls had cracks, carpet and room looked at least 10+ years old, bathroom sink had cracks and overall didn't seem clean. No, I didn't complain. Just will not stay there again nor recommend this place. Very disappointed.

I have visited this area a handful of times. Booking online was a joke. No elevator, broken ice machines, indoor pool closed, ""smells like an old hotel"". I just will choose another place, the area is beautiful to visit.

Had a great time at the Lancaster Host for a golf tournament. Didn't have a chance to use the pool or the dining rooms, other than the buffet that was used for the tournament.
